One of the craziest cheats to unlock. The time needed to unlock it is very tight and not worth the trouble of that speed run, because all the cheat does is make all normal enemies stop using their guns and try to kill you with their bare hands

this is a very important video. I remember getting perfect dark on n64 for christmas one year. I spent so much time playing that week. I remember how impressed i was with the different AI in multiplayer. This game is so iconic. The music the characters... Damn might fire up the emulator and play through. hahaha.

i personally just threw a grenade to blow up the mines. i didn't even know there was a safe path to the rocket launcher lol

For some reason I have so much trouble with Super Ornstein. I can get through almost every other boss within a few tries, but S.O. always makes me want to give up.

There's actually a Rocket Launcher hidden with NPC's that arent killable or interactable if you go BACK DOWNSTAIRS in DD Extraction. Noone ever goes back down there lol! But when you do, the lights are on and 1 of the rooms has them

One thing missed. The elvis mission for area 51 once you get fully out of the autopsy lab, but just before you get to the containment lab, if you throw the dragon and have it blow up. Some random blue guard falls from the ceiling. Lol.

One thing I wish in this game that kind of bothered me is I wish more guards in more levels could throw grenades just like they could in Goldeneye. You only have area 51 where they can throw grenades. The other thing, is you often had areas wasted. Chicago you had that area inside one of the buildings with the double falcon 2 scope. Another area was area 51 where you pick up the Phoenix. Maybe picking up Elvis gun could have been a side objective. Other annoying thing is how can perfect dark have a falcon 2 silencer or a scope but you can't combine the two together? Last but not least the final level of skedar, if you use the rounds from the grenade launcher too soon even if you pick up the Phoenix, you still fail the mission. Last bit not least in Carrington institute how did the skedar take hostages when they were wearing datadyne clothing. Another goofy thing, how did most of the guards not have alarms they could trigger or call out ahead to the next guard? If you were detected, you'd have guard after guard showing up. Overall it was a good game there lived up to it's time, but looking back I did have a handful of issues with it.

Used to play this all the time as a kid. It scared the shit out of me and I don't think I ever actually beat it but it was always a blast to play!

This comment has probably already been made, but I thought I'd reiterate: For the very second hidden weapon, the laptop gun in the first level... you *dont* have to follow that guy so that he'll open the door. Simply open the door to the right of the locked door, look to your left and face the locked door, and then try opening. If you get the angle right, you'll open the locked door from (what the game thinks) is the inside of that small room, as the door cannot lock from the inside or you'd of course get stuck. It's a very handy little trick that works on all difficulties, though, I'm not sure if the laptop gun is there in the lower difficulties.

This game is so satisfying. My absolute favourite game of all time. Played it for dozens and dozens of hours on the N64.

11:25 Nice technique for this one ! Had a bug where the door opens by itself. To get this result, you have to shoot the gun of the guy guarding the door at 12:05. He will eventually drop his gun just in front of the door, allowing him to open the door regardless of the lock. Happens to me a few time when I was I kid, still didn't remember that you have to knock down the first guy haha

Nice done. It's possible to start closer to the 1st objective if in the previous level you finish by using the ladder under the plane.

Oh that's interesting on the first level. I actually came across it as I fell thru the top of the open door off the helipad from the roof, kinda like a wall glitch

You can also use the c buttons on the cliff below the bridge to get into the hall without blowing up the wall

I think the grenade in the third mission actually had to do with being in the elevator while the lights are still off.

I remember many of those time trials being a pain to complete and unlock cheats. Managed to get them all back then.

Back in the day when we wanted to cheese a level or a boss it meant something else entirely from today’s standard of cheesing lol
