What’s interesting about this game is they know nothing about players. Sampras attributes like his forehand they made up. The only thing they got right was his serve and volley. Federer in 01, 07 and in 08 didn’t got toe to toe with Sampras forehand. He even out hit Federer on the wing in those exhibitions.

u can immediately see the RF is using the first rounds for practice and slowly ramping up his game. by the time he plays Nishikori - well Nishikori is no stumble-bum and no run-of-the-mill cloned two-handed backhand baseliner. he is a little better than those, but RF is hitting viscious , intelligent, surgical all-court shots. frightening to me. if i had gone on to a professional career and made it to the top-level ( yes, which i would not have ) ... I just cannot conceive of playing RF . not in this lifetime - utter humiliation . when you see RF on his game - on his surface - it is a foregone conclusion . Federer THINKS in combinations. he is literally thinking 3 shots ahead .
