October '24 update for my 1986 300zx project car 'zenkouki'

I found out that my ecu has not been getting power since i got the car the other day lol. It's an issue I thought i fixed several months back but as it turns out my fuse box is pretty janky and the repair was a bust. If I had my test light back then i would have known sooner but as it stands I'm a moron and I just need to figure out a few things. Car should be running (or atleast starting/sputt...

Z31 300zx project #zenkouki July '24 update

Almost finished with lowering the car on cut coils because I am a product of the 80's/90's when coilovers didn't exist and the only options were different springs, heated springs or cut springs. I've always found that cutting is the best way for a vehicle that still needs to corner well as it increases the springs rebound rate while lowering the ride height and as long as it's done properly i.e...

It totally sucks. You should probably get rid of it. You’ll be much better off being like everyone else and rock a build with an untra slim handguard (keymod or mlok; your choice) and looks like a Star Wars prop. I’ll be a brother and take one for the team. I can give you my address as to where to send that offensive abomination. I know: you’re welcome. Not all hero’s wear capes ya know😊
What components did you remove on the driver's side of the engine? because I believe it has to be smogged every 2 years.
nice 300zx bro
Do it yourself there no reason to have a gunsmith do it
❤❤❤ Hi ❤❤❤ M4A1 carbine for home defense ❤❤❤
❤❤❤
You did an outstanding job on this rifle!... I'm in the process of restoring an old A1 myself right now. Could have bought one of the new H&R clones but just didn't feel right about it. Have wanted one of these for my collection for 30 years...
Isn't this the dude who shot that CEO?
I don't have abs lol
Great work blue6gun!! what a flex with the working window too! :D
Lol thank you bro! The windows didn't work when I got the car but I found an old aftermarket power lock/window controller box in the door that wasn't connected. I don't have the fob it would have came with but since I fixed the power supply to that box and replaced the passenger side door switch they've both been working great. Only stuff I'm having no luck with in the map and dome lamps on the ceiling, fuel gauge and the overhead bulbs for the dash cluster that light up the needles at night. We'll get there tho. Still got tons more to get done but yesterday was a milestone I've been working towards for sooo many months now haha. Thanks again homie :)
This all started in 2014 when I gave a 1978 280Z to my friend James' older brother Mike. I was moving to a new home and couldn't bring any Datsuns with me. Mike's dream car was an S30 and I was happy to help him with that goal so long as he picked up the car and hauled it off lol. Fast forward to October 2023, James asks me if I'd be interested in a Z31 300ZX and all the parts needed to turbo the engine, I just had to help remove this car and a parts car and haul them to my driveway. Oct 30th the parts car came home followed by the 86 on November 1st. Since then it's been a non-stop project. Someone had told me I was looking at a "minimum of 10 grand to get it back on the road" lol. Maybe if I didn't know how to do most of the work myself he'd be more or less correct but all in all I'm only maybe 1500 dollars into this car. Maybe a little more but definitely less than 2K. It's not tough when it's something I enjoy doing :)
I guess YT didn't like my title, whatever it was lol
Update: turned out the ECU wasn't getting power the whole time lol. Fixed that and she fired right up....with a lot of additional work thereafter haha
I've never tried to drift before but that looks like fun. Were you able to practice the technique over the years?
Eu gosto da Girsan
An “F” marked front sight post is for a flattop receiver with a removable carry handle. A none “F” marked front sight post is for a fixed carry handle.
You are correct, but both F-marked and non F-marked are mechanically designed for the rifle length gas block which is roughly 12 inches out from the receiver. Using a non F-marked (A2) front sight post with a standard A1 or A2 receiver will require significant adjustment of the front sight post for a 25m or 50m zero. Using a f-marked barrel with an A1/A2 receiver compensates for the difference in gas block distance from the receiver and won't require as much adjustment of the sight post. Using a non f-marked sight post in a carbine setup with a fixed carry handle receiver will require more adjustment or a taller sight post to get similar results.
I want one of those I have the one that came off a socom edition colt and it’s cool but I’d very much like this more haha
My build used Colt socom barrel but its a shooter.
My 5.56 is a aero upper and ati omni hybrid lower with a 10.5 barrel and red and green reflex sight and magpul grips with a single point sling and Shockwave gen2 brace and laser and flashlight combo
It's beautiful!
What causes the gas to move around like that?
Im not sure. Usually the gunk just floats off but anti seize on the plugs makes it act weird lol
Mine has an upside down asterisk on top of the HPT/MPI markings. I really wasn’t able to get much info out of AO other than it’s an internal identifier? I suspect it may be a contract part.
Where’s the pinning and welding part of your pinning and welding video?
where can I get the mag?
I went very close close to what you did.
Look like it m16 a1 rifle real.
Late last summer I paid 250 for an a 2 upper receiver without a barrel new production from a Raleigh R15 discounts
Why everyone hates the longer birdcage makes no sense .
Because it is ugly and ruins the look of the 14.5" barrel.
Beautiful build😍😍😍
How do you have that bipod mounted?
Ahh so close! Excited to see if it starts! I think its the ignition switch mine wore out too.
That's a good idea! I found rodent damage on the engine harness where it passes through the firewall that'll need to get fixed 1st but if that doesn't allow power to get sent to the starter I'll replace the ignition switch just to be sure. I can't give up either cuz I'm way too poor right now lol, I'd never get into another older Nissan for what this "free" Z cost me haha
I love these old cars
The cars get older every year but working on them never gets old haha
Woot! Cant wait to see it running dood!
I can't either, it's taking literally forever to find all the issues effecting the ignition but I'm close. Wiring harness has some rodent damage to fix and we'll try again! :)
Nice setup 👍
This is a nice rifle.
Ya know, the weapon is more stable the more forward you put the gangsta grip.
grry honda rofl!!!
Do one in Elisco finish M16a1 P
Nice rifle bro. I love the acog
Why not just buy an LE6920 socom?
Have you ever removed a pin and weld and swapped muzzle devices? Unfortunately where I live doesn’t allow flash hiders but I’m moving so I’d like to get a flash hider on this 14.5 unfortunately it’s a $400 barrel so I’m scared lol
Another BS 1 handed cell phone video.
ThankYou for the build tips ..
The main difference besides being a slight bit shorter. It's also 5 ounces lights, at just over 29 oz.
I got the same flashlight. Managed to get a surplus unit on ebay for $199.
Awesome choices thank you for make this
I want the wheels off the parts car lol
One of the few things I kept lol. The offset isn't great but after installing the 87+ rear trailing arms ive got some 40mm spacers for all four that should line up well. Rn I still have the older style trailing arms on so it needs 50mm spacers to sit flush
that unbranded upper is actually a square marked colt upper. Its also marked m4 and only the companies that held the rights to the name m4 were allowed to stamp on the top rail of receiver. Colt and FN are the only two that i can remember that are allowed to do that. Most ar15s do not have that m4 marking.
Daniel defense marks their uppers
I got a 1/9 barrel from Wilson. THAT A THEY IS VERY ACCURATE! How's your 1/9 barrel working for you?? T I A
I understand where you’re coming from, but most people don’t build Block 1.5s because SOCOM never came out with a SOPMOD Block 1.5 program. What’s commonly referred to as Block 1,5 was nothing more than a few new pieces of kit being brought to the teams.
You can fix that sling mount from wobbling All you have to do take it off And cut two or three pieces off a aluminum can with scissors And put it behind the left side And it will tighten up rock solid And you cannot see the aluminum Once it's done all you're doing is making aluminum shims.
