Hi, I’m sharing our Tirupati journey here. We took a train from Chennai Central on August 15, 2024, at 4:30 PM and reached Tirupati Railway Station by 9:00 PM. An auto driver approached us outside the station and arranged a room near Govindaraja Swamy Temple for ₹1300. After checking in, we went for dinner and then headed to Vishnu Nivasam around 11:30 PM to collect the SSD tokens. We waited until 12:30 AM, but a huge crowd formed, and there was no proper organization from the TTD side. Auto drivers outside suggested we go to Alipiri, where the crowd would be 30% less compared to Vishnu Nivasam. We decided to go, spending ₹200 on an auto, and reached Alipiri around 1:15 AM, only to find another huge crowd. With no other choice, we waited and finally entered the metal rope-tied barricade line around 2:00 AM. After 2 hours in the queue, we collected our tickets around 4:00 AM and returned to our room by 4:30 AM. It took us 5 hours, from 11:30 PM to 4:30 AM, just to collect the SSD tokens. We were allotted the 8:00 PM, August 16th time slot. The next morning, around 7:30 AM, we left our room after breakfast, caught an AC bus from Tirupati to Tirumala, and reached there around 8:15 AM. After mudi kanikai, bathing, and having the free meal, we finished all our work by around 11:45 AM. A jeep driver approached us and offered a 6-Temple tour for ₹1500. We toured all six spots and were dropped off at the SSD line around 5:00 PM. After having tea, we asked the SSD volunteer to let us in at 5:30 PM, but we were only allowed in line at 6:45 PM (so we sat on the platform and waited until 6:45 PM). We had darshan at 9:30 PM but got separated from our family in the crowd. We finally found each other at 10:30 PM. After collecting our mobile phones and luggage, which took about 30 minutes, we got the laddu token and spent another 30 minutes collecting the laddus. We left for our room at 11:45 PM, got a jeep, and reached the room around 12:30 AM, completely drained of energy.
