Q: What do you use to edit your videos?
A: I put everything together on an M2 MacBook Pro with Apple's Final Cut Pro and export the file in Compressor. Typically it takes me about 8-10 hours to produce a video, including the 20-30 minute export process in Compressor. I try to edit videos ahead of time so there's some buffer room for this reason!

A: I used to carry two phones, but I combined into the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

After my plans fall through, I decide to upgrade my Mac to macOS Sequoia so I can use Final Cut Pro 11. Then I record a few videos and go for a ride out to the next town over! So, usually I caption these videos manually and export the .itt (iTunes Timed Text) file from Final Cut Pro 11. I use the new Transcribe to Captions feature to jumpstart the process and then spend 5-10 minutes fixing mistakes. Not terrible, saves me money on captioning. Well, when I went to export the .itt file for this vlog, FCP 11 decided to simply crash. Anyway, the solution is to Duplicate Captions to the SRT format and export that. Problem solved, except there is an error on line 1 every time that I have to tell UA-cam to ignore. Hopefully Apple fixes that so I don't need to do two extra steps every time.
