I was about to have a mental breakdown of epic proportion but I swear you saved me from the mental asylum with that second one. Actually thought I was going to quit all crocheting for the rest of my lifeeeee 😭😩😭😩😭😩😭 new sub

BRAVO!
Thank you! Great pattern and excellent instruction! Lovely to hear another Aussie accent 😊
Thanks so much fellow Aussie!! 😊
This is a very beautiful square. I want to try this, I've done all the stitches before, once. So I'm familiar with them but have not mastered them. So I will practice this square and hopefully make something really nice from it. ❤ Wish me luck!😅
You are so welcome! I'm sure you'll be fabulous with it.
Just made this fish, lovely tutorial. Looking forward to more from you, love your commentary!
Thanks so much 😊
I love, love, love this!!! I'm making one in camouflage for my dad and another in pink and colors that compliments for my niece. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing pattern. After searching and searching for something that popped out at me to crochet for my dad, I came across your video and was instantly hooked! Thanks, mate, again for sharing!!!❤️
SO pleased that you love the pattern. This blanket is my number one favourite crochet blanket - it is absolutely stunning and even men like it. I'm sure your Dad and Neice will be over the moon!
@@CrochetTutorials11 the half diamonds are the regular one only done until the start of the decrease? I may have overlooked where you discussed it. I'm about to start assembling everything and wanted to make sure so I don't do anything wrong.
@@Born_Again_Viking Yes, that's correct. Although the LONG half diamonds are halved length wise, instead of across the middle and they are worked slightly differently. The stich chart for them is shown at 3.20
@@OPW I already crocheted the long ones. Just wanted to make sure I was gonna do the half ones correctly before crocheting them.
Good Day to you, Kim. I hope this short comment will be of good health to you in 2024. I look forward to new tutorials in 2025!

That is lovely of you to say! I agree, absolutely gorgeous pattern. People are very clever. Happy crochet
Pena que não tem tradução 😘
Now, how do you single crochet into that starting chain?
Just slip stich to join the chain and single crochet straight into the first chain.
@@CrochetTutorials11but exactly which loops do you crochet into so it’s not twisted? Ive frogged 8 times already. 🙏🏻
@@lisafernandez2696 As far as I am aware (and I could be wrong) either the top loop or the back loop is fine. However, you do just need to make sure you continue to go into this loop all the way around.
Best video for this pattern ❤
Thanks so much. Very kind of you!

I just found this wonderful tutorial. You are an absolute pleasure to listen to and so easy to follow! Thank you so much!
Glad you found it useful. Thanks so much for commenting!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I’ve made several blankets using squares but this shape gives a really interesting look. I’m making mine using a mid grey border which gives a sort of stained glass effect! I’ve made a slight adaptation to the triangles by using the same colour pattern as the square, which keeps the colour pattern the same, and also made quarter triangles for the 4 corners of the blanket. The joining method was tricky to master, but I stuck at it, and the cable effect really adds a great look.
That is brilliant. What you describe sounds like it looks fantastic! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
Thanks sm i made a yellow gold fish 🐟❤
That's awesome. Hope you love it!
This is a beautiful pattern and you are a great teacher. Thank you for this thorough tutorial!
Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
I had just thought a day or two ago of looking up some sort of Sunburst or Starburst type granny square to put in the middle of a log cabin blanket dreamt up to crochet. AS a quilter, I had always heard that the legend of the Log Cabin - a true origin Log Cabin - design was that it always had a red or reddish orange block in the center to represent the Hearth or Heart of the home;a fire being very welcoming, even healing, life-giving. I also wondered if there was perhaps a red, orange and yellow variegated yarn, and because I am such an avid YT watcher I found both. I am going to use your pattern (or part of it) with the red, orange and yellow yarn to be the flickering flames of firelight in my hearth! I am going to do the Daylight and Dark, or maybe it's called Light and Shadow, version of the many that're called Log Cabin designs.
Hope it is as wonderful as you plan it to be
Love my Tulips. One day I will have tthe pink Tulip set.
HUGS xx
i agree , you are a great instructor. would love for you to explain how to join squares into a throw.
Thanks so much for such a lovely comment!! This video might help. I love these joins! Happy Crochet! ua-cam.com/video/BszTmM3fTUM/v-deo.html
I hate the bates bc of how blunt the tips are. I learned on Boye. Like most of us (older gals), they hurt my hands and I can’t use for long. I tried addi knock-offs, bc reviews said they have a swing that makes them faster…idk I couldn’t figure them out. I got cheap ‘ergonomic’ hooks from Amazon but so many had Burris on them that it would snag the yarn and had a lot of drag. I found eBay seller selling the 10pc set for $30 several yrs ago. I started playing w as soon as came in. I was like…omgosh these things are heaven!! Brushed hooks slide through any yarn like butter!!! They are simply heaven! And if you can find at cheaper price a def steal!! I then got the larger plastics, same! Best of all NO SQUEEK from yarn! Then got the steel hooks which are so nice if you’ve ever used the plain steel hooks - def old ones are hand killers! I’ve bought multiple sets! Absolutely love, love, love the ‘hot knife through butter’ feel and speed with which they go through yarn…doesn’t matter the material or project! Can’t recommend them enough! I’ve had the Denise Tunisian set but we had a house fire and I’ve not seen them since. I’d like to try the odyssey or the aluminum set bc of my carpel tunnel, thinking the weight would help, but the price…I know they take a lot to make, are inspected by hand, etc…idk just can’t pull trigger on $26-40/hook! But I’m cheap anyway, lol Edit: the one thing about clover is that they are color coded, so once you become familiar with them you will know size from memory…5mm=blue, 5.5mm=green, 6mm=brown, etc…and the size is stamped into the handle so you don’t lose the sticker and have to pull out the sizing bell (the sizing tool used during Victorian era to give standardized hook sizes as patters were beginning to be shared), to figure out the size hook needed for your project.
I am from India and I just finished making the fish it turned out very cute and beautiful thank you for the tutorial it was a wonderful experience working with you
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Love that you love your fish!
I almost switched channels when I was listening to the very first very obvious way but I thought no know she's got some humor about her let's see... and by golly and big guy she came up with a winner!
Thanks for persevering with me!! glad you found some benefit.. Have a brilliant day!
Can these squares be joined together with join as you go crochet will they look okay x
I would give it a go if I were you! I think the most common join with these square is a very minimal one - even invisible mattress stitch. Thanks for watching.
Love the colors of the 1st project you're working on. What yarn & colors, and what size hook did you use?
The yarn is 4 Seasons Marvel Denim Effect (12ply). There's a fairly limited colour range - and they go by numbers not names, - but there is a dark blue and light blue a red and a pink and a dark grey and light gray. I believe there is two green colours too. This yarn is really lovely and soft and even though it's 12 ply, it's not super thick. It's about the same as a worsted weight, maybe a tiny bit thicker. I tend to use a 4mm hook with it, because I do like the denser stitch. Thanks for watching.
The hole video is all out of view try laying it down instead of letting it hang can't see
Thanks for your feedback. My apologies
What does it measure ? Thanks for sharing.
Hi!! It is just over 7 inches. This is a 10 ply yarn 😊
Thank you for sharing. I love octagons.😊❤

it was really fun and turned out so pretty !! thank you<3
I'm so pleased you made it! Thanks for letting me know 😊
Going to have to have a go at octagon blanket love yours. Thanks for the tutorial its so easy to.understand
You are very welcome!! Thanks for watching!
I love the zigzag join method . Made a few king-size daisy hexagon blankets and used that method Looks lovely in contrasting colours .
Totally agree. Looks fantastic in contrasting colours!!
Clovers are worth it in my opinion. I love them. They work for me - they shave minutes off of my rows because they are so smooth - I fly through the stitches. Tulips are nice- but I compared the same size back to back on a project I am currently working on, and I felt just a tad bit more friction with the tulip etimo red hook that I have. Not much… but noticed it. Went back to my clover ❤
Totally agree!
Celestial square possibly a gd name ?
Yes, I really liked Celestial as a name!!
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊
So excited to learn how to make this as a temperature afquillow for my husband for his 59-60 birthday.

Thanks so much!!
Good instructions but you're not in camera range a lot of the time. Perhaps make a mark in your middle camera range on the background fabric so you would know where you are.
Good suggestion. Thanks for taking the time to comment your feedback 😊
