i dont get the part about how japan does it for neccesities when japan tries to take over all of southeast asia. yes , the west screwed them over (as another fellow in the comments mentioned) , they fought russia and expanded but i dont see anything about neccesity when it spreads to all of southeast asia , that looks way more like the british empire or any other colonial power (wich i doubt anyone would argue neccesity for). as far as i see it starts of with going out to get essential recourse but turns into any other expansionist empire (given that everyone did that its not that weird but i just dont get the argument of neccesity).

It’s supposed to be simplified, that’s the whole point of his career. To help teach the basic & important parts of WW2… example: Anschluss, appeasement… Otherwise historians would go more in depth and teach the exact number of deaths / duration. So he’s not in the wrong here!

1:50 you sure you even watched the video? You mentioned that he left out the part that Japan had no natural resources and it’s why they went to war, when he literally brought it up in the video when he claims “they decided to go and get some” idk how you missed that part.

To be fair, even though it is his most popular, the WW2 video is still a very old video of his, back when he hadn’t quite found his footing yet. If this video was uploaded today, these oversights would’ve definitely not happened, considering how he handles current videos. I do agree that these are oversights, though. Plus, from two videos combined, each lasting about 13 minutes, having a video explaining the oversights be only 3 minutes long is probably a good sign.
