Hi, I'm Steve and I'm a huge 80's gaming fan. Back in the day I had a ZX81, BBC Model B, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Atari 800 and other systems and this channel is me playing 8 bit games I love (and ones I dislike) and just waffling about the game as I play them. The channel idea is just my attempt to leave something behind to prove I existed and to have some fun along the way! You're most welcome to watch and/or comment.
Planet Crafter: Episode 71
Today I plan on moving one of the teleporters and then get distracted and find a new place with fish!

Planet Crafter: Episode 67

Planet Crafter: Episode 64

Today I continue exploring that wreck and then uhmm.. get somewhere that I shouldn't. Oops!
Sweet
Hello I stumbled upon your channel because of this game, I came to the most recent video to tell you good job, I'm gonna go watch the first episode now, keep up the good work 👍 PS you should make a playlist of all the episodes of Planet Crafter because its a bit hard to navigate, if you have time and want to of course lol. Have a good day
Thank you very much. I'll see if I can do the playlist tomorrow. Thanks for watching!
I've done it now.
Most large ships have 4 to 6 locked doors split into quadrants....I believe if you looked a bit more you would find at least 2 more doors....I get the frustration though lol. So enjoyable
To get lave you stand still for 20 seconds....they spawn at your feet
Bloody hell a 1cc first go! 😁
First and last time ever.. lol
That's a pretty neat game! You seem to have skipped Gold Quest I through V though. 😉
Yep, I've never seen them ..seems a bit of a shame as this was fun.
You don't need a pattern. You put it in your butterfly dome. Your not creating the lava. You have it. P.s. you missed load if kava in little rock pools. Great stuff
ohh right, thanks!
Oddly enough I find the music on the C64 version (as simple as it is) to be more catchy than the arcade! 😂
Instruction meaning....look at the map where the ores are.....put an ore miner v2 or 3 where the ores or crystals are. Set the container for that ore to supply. Go to base....set the container to demand....you no longer need to go to ore extractors ever....this along with auto crafter create the things you need. Tat would help if you continue but is just for info really
Thanks!
It's a shame you didn't build more Ore extractors etc to get the pressure increasing and used some of the fuses you found / have in the lockers
Yeah, one of the many mistakes I made. oops! :)
That’s a good game, it looks fun.
You know, when you stop playing after episode 80 I’m going to wind up buying the game to fill the void. 🙂
Spoiler:- Save your pennies mate, I don't even make it to 80. Sorry :) ...maybe you should start a series on it, I'd watch, you could avoid all the mistakes I made!
No point suggesting sticking a mining rig for Pulsar Quartz so I won't say anything. Oh wait...! 😉
Haha
Well, you've left us on a cliffhanger there! 😂
Maybe. haha
All 3 push terrorformation and......your tech level....get them rockets and production poles
Wow! Nicely clipped! 😂
Nice game map to screenshot 🙂
I have vague recollections of this one! Just posted a quick snipped of how to get past the "impossible" enemy to Discord 😉
This Commodore 64 game seems brutally FRUSTRATING 😹🤘🕹️!
oh yes, it really is!
I know there's prerecorded videos to come lag but in situations like this you could build a teleporter, go home, drop off what you've collected, come back and deconstruct the teleporter. I've not seen this done elsewhere so it's definitely not a spoiler 😉
Good idea!
I'd have enjoyed that, I love games where you can wander about. 😂 I'm going to pretend I didn't hear the bit about Planet Crafter 😢😂
Haha! yes I love those games too.
Can you mine Pulsar Quartz? The teleporters do seem to have a label on them...
I'm not sure, I don't think I tried. oops!
Always loved Blake’s 7.
Yep love it, got all the series on dvd ..hmmm it's time I rewatched them I think :)
@@stevesgaming7475 Same 🙂
Too late now but growing more trees would be useful. Oxygen level didn't look like it was increasing (around 8 minutes in) and that will be holding you back. Heat is also stuck. Make sure all the levels are increasing so that the terraformation level keeps increasing. The trees help to generate Oxygen; one is a 250% multiplier. Increasing the levels will unlock things.
This looks quite addictive, I have seen it before but can't remember where. Pleasure Beach lol, I remember the Wild Mouse ride, me and my sister went on it and thought we were going to die. I swear that tiny little carriage went through the sound barrier it was that fast 😂
Yes it is addictive, also Wild Mouse was a BRUTAL ride, I went on it as a young kid with my mum and it terrified me so much that I let go, if not for my mum I'd probably have been thrown out. She was black and blue after. This was before rides had recommended ages or min height for people to ride on it.
Have you tried building on top of the water to create more living/storage/research space?
I never did for some weird reason. I've recently seen Del's stream on it, I avoided it for spoilers before but yeah, he built a base on the water and it looked cool but it never popped into my head.. damn :D
You deffo need that storage.....good luck
This looks alright - fun for a quick go I guess.
In some ways it's kind of a cross between Berzerk and Adventure on the Atari
Yeah! it is
Reminds me of an qction rpg like zelda or diablo
Yeah a little like the first zelda game.
You will notice Terra Tokens value when you hover over an item you wish to send off. A lot of the stuff you're sending is literally worthless. As I type this you notice 😂
Haha!
@stevesgaming7475 lol yep I mentioned that but these are pre recorded so I stopped lol
Nice to see you get quite far on this old gem! The camels are dragons. The enemies are shown in the room titles 🙂
I'll always know them as camels now.. lol
Nice to see some c64 content!
Thanks!
I have a TheC64 too. I know exactly where it is too. I've used it twice since I had it (about 2 years). Nothing wrong with it just too many other options and the Ultimate II+ cartridge makes using a real C64 far easier than using TheC64! Lovely game this. Much fun!
Very cool! but do you have a Spectrum next? can I tempt you with my N-go, it needs a new home. haha!
@@stevesgaming7475 As tempting as that is I'd probably use it less than you do! 😂
@@PondersRetroGoodness Haha!
Great fun to watch Steve, as usual! I don’t mind playing Centipede and Millipede with analog sticks. I haven’t played the Atari 50 collection enough. I have it for PlayStation 4.
Thanks!
The ‘Where’sme Drone?’ episode. 😂
Haha! Yes
Suggestion....no spoiler.....look at the display and numbers for heat, pressure etc....if the numbers are moving slow then build more drills, etc, or optimisers. Great work
Thanks for the help mate, I need to let you into a bit of a spoiler here. all the remaining episodes of this series have been recorded, uploaded and scheduled. So unfortunately I can't get any tips on board and work on them as it's all been finished now. Sorry about that.
@stevesgaming7475 that's OK. No excuse to not see my final planet crafter video now where it's all explained lol
@@delboy3k1 I'm SO glad you reminded me about those!!! I've purposely didn't watch them for spoilers but now I have no excuse, I'll check them out tonight! Thanks
Download a pack called one load which has the tapes and disks as crt files. Drag and drop them into the c64 emu window. Just my suggestion my friend
Great idea, think it's a bit late for that though, I should have thought of it a couple of weeks ago. thanks though :)
A funny thing has happened, to me.... After watching your video on "Jet Set Steamboat Willy" by Sloanysoft, I had a thought. And that thought was, "I'm not finding much that strikes my fancy by randomly picking games for the Spectrum, so I think I'll go back and see some of the ones that Steve has played before that look like ones I want to play." I settled on "Danterrifik", and I've made a video on the first one. It won't be out for a couple of weeks, so hopefully you don't mind me stepping on your toes a little bit.
You're not stepping on my toes in the least, I think it's really great when we played the same games. I look forward to your video! You do know you need to do the other three now. lol
They look good, but too difficult for me to enjoy I think.
Very difficult indeed but a lot of fun.
Nice one, I really enjoyed watching that. Not bad at all for a first attempt. 👍 It's best played in 128k mode as there some awesome music that Lee Bee did for the game that gave it a real lift. Thanks so much for playing. 😃👍
oh heck, it never crossed my mind to try it in 128k mode. I'm sorry. it's a great game though, thanks for making it!
Cheers man, it was a lot of fun to make. The game itself is exactly the same in 48k or 128k mode. The 128k just has the extra music. 👍
I spent the weekend catching up. Thoroughly entertaining. 🙂
This is a great version, something different to the usual JSW versions
Yeah!
Really fun video, Steve! You've made me aware of Sloanysoft now, which seems like a good thing. 🙂Hilarious when you said, "What the Heck are Those" and that was the name of the level. 😆 You got about a third of all the coins too.
Good, they've done some great games and yeah that level name. haha
Perhaps take a crapload of oxygen to explore that ship?
I think I do later on.
I am a bit like you with pointless things. However, when I finished, I went to the forums....the point is it's the sims....you don't do anything but beautify your place I.e. if you were really here you would sit on things, sleep in things, and have hanging pictures and ornaments so you build a living compartment. Like you, I avoided it, but that's its purpose. Enjoy my friend....I.e. not a spoiler for you more a reason on it
Thank you :)
C64 Forever! Is the the easiest emulator as is the sister Amiga Forever! for the Amiga. I was on my VIC20 in 1983 so Stonkers passed me by, but I did sell a copy or two as I was a Saturday girl at WH Smith at the time. I don’t mind the odd battlefield strategy game, the Blitzkrieg games burn through many a dreary winter month.
Thanks! ohhh WH Smith, I used to buy a lot of games from there. tbh most strategy games are too complex for me but I just loved Stonkers.
@@stevesgaming7475 I used to get mine in Boots the Chemist as they were the only place in town that sold VIC20 games.
Great video, it reminded me of the only time I played Stonkers and I won as well. It isn't that difficult never played it again though
Thank you! I used to play it a ton, lost about 70% of the time ...well when it didn't crash haha! Love your videos Geoff, we need more when you have the time ..please!
@@stevesgaming7475 Most of my free time is going on my Next game at the moment so never seem to get the chance to make any more. I even struggle to fine time for the Spectrum Show at the moment.
@@geoffneil5073 Crikey! a next game though.. ohhh exciting!
@@stevesgaming7475 It is a strategy game a bit like Advanced Wars on the GBA
I played it in 1980s and it was very difficult to understand the logic. Still it was a good game and your video brought back nice memories.
Thank you very much!
Not saying I know VICE but I compiled the latest version on my computer from the source code 😉 First time I've seen this. Quite involved for the time! 🙂 Nice win there against the odds!
You're welcome to it mate lol and yes Stonkers was ahead of its time for sure!
