You really do think everything through. Looking great 👍 is that a dukes of hazard horn?
Hi thanks I think the horn is the same as the one fitted on the black swan. Thanks Al
@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR I think so, it looks the same
another AliExpress purchase 😂😂
Hi thanks for the comment. I have heard of it but never gave it much thought. The inverter does have a ac2 output so I will look into it thanks Al
Does your Multiplus have an AC2 outlet for solar dump to a calorifier? The 5000 does. I intend to fit an A/Off/B selector to my calorifier circuit and expect to leave it on B for solar dump most of the summer. The 15 amp charge throttle looks like a vital piece of kit, I was worried about the current surge when re-introducing a battery bank and I had not heard these of these throttles. Thanks for the pointer.
Hi thanks for the comment. I have heard of it but never gave it much thought. The inverter does have a ac2 output so I will look into it thanks Al
@@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR Somewhere in the Multiplus configuration it is possible to declare a condition rule that will energize AC2 when battery state of charge is greater than say 95% and solar is delivering charge. The relative benefit from this depends on how much time you will be off-grid and not clocking up daily cruising miles.
Nice tide job ere you gowing to earth the hull to the vectron gear
Hi Dave I have see you have put a video on just haven’t had time to watch it yet. Yes I have run all the Earth points to a buzz bar and when the weather gets a bit better i will continue the run to the main Earth point in the engine bay. How’s the boat all good I trust thanks Al & foxy
Thankyou for covering the relay board in this week's episode. Is one of the benefits not having to route a large bundle of circuit positive wires up to the switch panel?
I have a relay board but it’s Wi-Fi so I don’t even have to be on the boat to turn things on or off from anywhere in the world
That sounds interesting where did you get that from
@ Amazon / eBay 10amp Wi-Fi relay low voltage in and will switch from 1 volt to 250v ac/dc out work very well 👌
@@johnaston6440thanks I will have a look at one
On the Relay Board, Are those relays 10A AC or DC?
Hi the relays are 10a DC rated
@ impressive for something so small!
Lovely neat job there Al 👏 👍
Thanks it’s been a task. But it’s a part of the build I have most been looking forward to 😀 but after about 60 hours of work i am glad it’s nearly finished 😃😃
You deserve a medal tackling all that yourself
The galvanic isolator stops any stray current from the boat Al. Most Marinas now want you to fit one before they will give you a mooring. That's the neatest wiring i've seen in a long tome mate :)
Thanks mate for the info and glad you like the results it has taken me about 60 hours so far 😂
@@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR Yeah but it's fun and now you know every inch of the wiring so if problem arises you know where to look :)
@@FlashGormlessthanks I am a big believer in diy only if you have a idea of what it do as you know some jobs you need to know what you are doing. But like you said any problems in the future I should be able to sort them quite easily 😊😊
Victron advise not using Ferrules on their MPPT’s, it reduces the surface contact area on the cables, it is a fairly common recommendation for fine & very fine stranded cables in to captive terminals.
Very tidy job mate 👌
Thanks mate it’s been months in planning 😂
Wow hats off to you Al 👏 we are so happy with our vitron set up, but would never have attempted to fit it ourselves. Looks great you clever man 😊
Hi Lee & Ali thanks. It’s not really that difficult to fit. When are you back on with your boat. Thanks Al
Boat safety this weekend 😊
Good luck with it. Sure it will pass with no issues
@@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR hopefully, we are hoping to vlog it. We shall see !!
will look forward to seeing it
Bonjour jolie travaille super beau tableau
This gets more impressive each week. My initial thought was "the Victron component layout is spread out more than usual for a narrowboat", then I realized you have an offset cabin entrance to the right so a shallow electrics cabinet gains you a massive 3ft x 3ft utility area to the left of the entrance steps. The colour coordinated trunking is a nice touch. I would be interested to hear more about the remote switch panel in a future episode.
Thanks we are very happy how it’s working out. I will be wiring the control panel up in the next vlog. So I will be showing how it works. Thanks Al
Looking good! I like the ducting AL keeping everything neat and tidy :)
Thank you! 😊
12v is pretty low and limits you on capacity & Charging, tend to fit 48v Victron kit, helps to keep the cables smaller too. What Batteries are you using?
Hi iam using lifpo4 4x 304 amp packs. 48v is great in some cases. But charging it can become very expensive for the equipment and mods to the alternators. Thanks Al
Did you get a special deal buying that much electrical kit in one big order?
Hi there is always a deal to be got when spending that much 😂
Looks like another big job ahead of you, but she's coming together. Loved the vlog.
Thanks glad you enjoyed watching thanks Al
By christ Al that's a fare few bobs worth of equipment there! I'm trying to work out where your putting it? Is there a cupboard being built round it once it's in?
Hi yes there is a few quids worth but it’s quality stuff. Yes I will be putting a cupboard around it at some point. Just easier with out one for now. Thanks Al
Can’t go wrong with Victron mate
Hi Stuart it definitely is 😊
Hi Al & Foxy, kitchen is really coming on and the work surface looks great! Is it granite or quarz?? Best wishes lee & Ali
Hi lee & Ali thanks we are really happy with how it’s looking now. It’s made of quartz thanks Al & foxy
I really like those worktops AL, the curves really set them off. All the Best for the new year mate :)
Thanks, you too! Mate
Canopy looks amazing guys, will definitely be contacting titan for a quote when we are ready. 😊
Hi lee & Ali Thanks. The quality is top notch and a top company to work with. Thanks Al & foxy
Ball catch
Thanks for that I just couldn’t remember what they were Called 😊
Enjoy your break guys, you deserve it 👏
Thank you! Will do!
It's getting there Al, To be honest i'd put some sika or a sealant behind the morse control to stop water seeping inside the control and rusting it just to be safe? Merry Christmas Al and a Happy New Year mate :)
Hi mate it’s got a stick on rubber seal on the back of it. But I have to take it back out to fit some switches so will probably put some on it when it’s finished. Have a great Christmas and new year thanks Al.
What's a ballpark figure for the Canopy? Please
Hi the best way is to talk to titan about your requirements. And they will give you an estimate. Thanks Al & Foxy
That canopy looks amazing Al good thinkin taking that home. On that header tank on the other side from the water level pipe is that an expansion outlet? If it is you should think about running a hose from it to either a container or out the boat somehow? just something I spotted? The rate your going you'll be in the water soon :)
Thanks for the comment I was thinking about putting a skin fitting in as the tank as loads of outlets on it. But I am going to see how it goes with just a small amount of water in it first.
Thats amazing looks cool
Thanks Neil we are very happy with it 😊
Crackin looking door that Al will look great once oiled or varnished.
Thanks mate. I will be finishing it with the danish oil like the rest of the oak trim. It’s easy to use and quick 😊
Is it just flooring the bloke at hull does?
Hi yes I think so what you looking for I might know where to get something. Or maybe I have already got some thanks Al
Hi lee & Ali thanks it will come that time very soon 😊once Christmas is out of the way spring will be here before you know it thanks Al & foxy
Loving the doors, wow you really are coming to the end of your fitout. Looks amazing guys. We will be wishing the winter away so we get out there in the Spring. Best wishes Lee & Ali
Hey guys, loving the bathroom rad, very sleek. 😊
Hi lee & Ali thanks we are very impressed with the quality and the price was ok 😂 too thanks Al & foxy
That's right Al take the chrome off so as Richard says it makes a better fitting and less chance of leaking. Boat looks amazing mate :)
Hi thanks for the comment. I have sanded back the chrome but it didn’t make it into the Final Cut of video 😊 we are both very happy with how it’s coming together thanks Al & foxy
If you don’t take the chrome off the pipe, the push fit fitting can’t bite into the copper and will just blow off 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi thanks I have sanded back the chrome. The part that I mentioned it got cut out of the video. Thanks Al & foxy
Could you advise where you bought radiators please?
Hi we got the radiators from the radiator outlet online thanks Al & foxy
you have a guaranteed flood ahead when you presurmise the rads without rubbing the chrome off so yes you are correct i usually go down to the copper so it will grip
Hi I did say that I had seen it on the net about sanding down the chrome first. And I have. The bit that I say that has ended up on on the cutting room floor as they say 😊
Are those trims Oak? and where did you buy em
Hi yes they are oak 48mm x 8mm. Sorry but can’t say where I got them. But if you search for them they are oak door trims. I have seen them on fb marketplace thanks Al
Trims look amazing guys, they really finish it off nicely.... but don't they take a long time to do! No snow here yet!
Hi lee & Ali thanks yes they take I lot of cutting for all the different angles as you two know 😊 the weather is better this week. Titan are coming to measure up for the pram cover on Tuesday morning so hopefully it’s not raining 😊
@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR oh wow good for you!!
That wall looks amazing
Thanks mate
Looking nice 👍👍
Hi Al & Foxy, the bespoke wall looks amazing, great idea! What handle are you going for on the invisible wall? Trims really finish it off. Spring is getting nearer! Life on the ocean wave 😊
Hi Lee & Ali thanks it was a lot of work but happy with the results. Not sure about the handles yet I have some small black and chrome handles. Time is flying by only 18 weekends to the end of march 😮 thanks Al & foxy
Looks amazing 👏
Hi Al & Foxy, your outside paint job really looks beautiful, we could see it in all its glory today. Fab idea with the walnut strips and mirrors, great compromise 😊
Hi lee & Ali the paint work needs a good clean and some wax putting on but that can wait till next year 😊 hopefully the wall will come out good when finished. Thanks Al @ Foxy
Motor sounds good 👍 Another one ticked off mate
It’s getting there now mate but still got 19 weekends till launch day 😂😂
Hi guys, that looked rather cramped in that engine bay 😂 everything looking sooo neat and tidy. Where you on fire duty on the boat when those fireworks were going off? Making sure they didn't land on your boat 😂 looking forward to a bit of cruising together eventually?? 😊
Hi lee & Ali yes the engine bay is very cramped now. The boat was covered in bits of fireworks but no damage done so all good. 😂 early next year we will be on the cut for a meet up thanks Al & foxy
another weekend, more work under crapy skies. Happy cruising 👍😀⚓
You got that right!
Hi guys, love the romantic lighting ! 😊 we do laugh at how you jump from one job to another, never a dull moment! Well done working in that tight space in the engine bay 👏
Hi Lee & Ali we are impressed with the led strip lights. Loads of small jobs to finish off now but it’s getting there 😊
@AlFoxysNarrowboatLUNAR they do look really nice. Yes it's all the small jobs that take the time. Are you going in in the spring?
yes we are looking at going in probably end of march. Can’t wait to get it finished 😊
