The detriment of deception and why he probably cut it is because of detonator, going first sure it's a rly good engine to play through certain handtraps but going second it's almost guaranteed that your deception is never gonna go off and the space in the extra couldve been something else you needed instead of the omni and murcielago. And he is playing some Azamina cards to basically end on the quick play which is one of the strongest cards + moa Regina which is a combo piece and boss monster.

@LamboJ20 couldn't have said it better. There might be a time and place for the engine but for thus event we didn't feel comfortable with it

@@LamboJ20 anyone who plays the Azamina engine knows that you side it out post side and going second against Ryzeal. But assuming you’re talking about game 1 blind and you’re going second, it still provides you with a body on board plus a target that Detonator needs to pop. You’re trying to bait as much as you can before you normal summon that Gazelle so that you can ensure it stays on the board

@@TiredEastCoastLakersFan i tested with it , but you don't really gain a body un less you tribute from hand (which is gonna be a handtrap more often than not) , the only way to actually gain a body is to play both Azamina fusion which <as an ED cost i didn't want to commit especially since resolving combon without them already win you 90% of game) . the ideo of the deck is not do the most , it's do just enough to win

Another question, I've been thinking about maining droll over ogre and having phantazmay in my side deck (bystials are so expensive). Would you reccomend maining ogre and having droll in the side or maining droll and not using it flat out since ogre didnt come up?

Yeah if your locals are FS heavy that's a great way to play it

I won't mince any words here: the deck did actually get worse with SUDA. Not the deck itself, in a vacuum it's more powerful. But the decks Maliss matchup was already shaky, while the Ryzeal matchup was good. Now with Eclipse Twins Detonator is not outable with your engine (Drillbeam, Engraver) anymore So while all these versions are fine in a vacuum, you do have to solve the aforementioned issues, which we didn't find a solution for yet If I was to recommend a list, it'd be the Luster Dragon list without Regained

@zefie14 if you're on the full bystial list it's a consideration, especially since alex + bystial will make seals then. But for anything not focusing on Bystials, i like Luster

@zefie14 No, i think 5-6 it's already a consideration. Honestly if you value the chaos angel then you can just run it even in the other lists, I just valued the Drillbeam Grind

We don't have any results right now, but in the OCG, BE is performing much better. In our current metagame Crystron has the advantage of dodging Bystials

Yeah just skip the Gryphon lock, and instead of shuffling Samsara, you keep it in grave. End on Rage + Yubel + Samsara. Need to swap the Unchained trap for Escape in that case

If you want to go on a budget, you can cut Engraver to 1, skip Lacrima And if 1 Engraver is too much either, you can just keep the Hero package and run with Sequence to make Aerial Eater or Berfomet. But if you're on a budget, I don't think Chimera is the choice. Azamina cards, Apprentice, A Bao, it all adds up...

@@Gnurrgard I have all the Chimera cards, including Apprentice. Also just picked up the Azamina cards, pre SUDA. Is it worth picking up the new Azamina support from SUDA and playing the deck as Azamina Chimera with handtraps?

@Jarryd_Perumal if you really want to play chimera, it's only Elzette you need (and a bao helps but that's needed for multiple decks) The deck is still functional without engraver, but I think Sequence is really good, so at least play the heroes. Then go and experiment! Chimera is pretty flexible. Friend of mine recommended a small vision resonator engine for budget lists

@@Gnurrgard I recently picked up the heroes as they were quite difficult to find in my region. I just need to learn the lines without Engraver and Lacrima. I have a Sequence luckily

@hermitr3e i cover that ruling in my other primite video, but basically: "also" means the lock is part of the effect and as such will only be applied once the effect resolves. So for the rest of the turn If you want a similar ruling: you can attack directly and then in MP2 use SP effect to banish even though it says you can't attack directly this turn

I don't think it changes a lot as to how combos etc work. I'd recommend running a Kashtira Engine though, since you're worse into Handtraps without Engraver :)
