Nice demo, but in a world of amazing keyer/readers, how do you convince a camera to blur?
If you’re standing on the road at the gate looking at the mound, where is the cave in relation to that?
About a mile south, I know years back access to the cave was given back to the Bureau of Indian affairs and was inaccessible. There are more mounds in the nanih waiya WMA and through out the county hardly anyone knows about.
Chad, this is a good video. Can you let us know which cables are needed to make the connections shown in the video? That would help immensely.
UNA BELLEZA.!!!
I wish folks could learn how to focus their camera !
Great vid. Useful. The cameraman did a super job, too!!! Congrats!!!
Has anyone here ever called mfj technical support? This is real polite guy named Stan he works there and he's the most helpful dude you've ever spoken to before. I suggest everyone on here gets on the phone and calls mfj technical support and ask to speak to Stan. He's just great.
Is this a stereo or mono setup? Sounds great on that60 yr old unit. Did you restore it?
stereo. I have not restored or altered anything
I had one, and it would read the static as e's and t's so the information was lost in all of that
finally, I may sleep well tonight
@z8ty did you get the box antenna ? and how is it performing ?
i returned it after reviewing it. Was an easy system to setup and was always a topic of conversation. It works great if you work single frequency. Since the Q is high, you gotta retune on every little frequency change.
Chad are you still active in amateur radio? Really curious as to why you sold the mfj 1780. Take care. 73
I didnt sell it, I had to return it. I just tried it out for a few weeks since I live close to MFJ
@@cebutler100 Thanks for the reply. How was the performance? I’ve ordered one but am having second thoughts. Could not find much material on it. Very few reviews. Thanks again.
I still have my ERA microreader very accurate with rtty also
I have an MFJ-935C Loop tuner, made up loop from 4 meters of 10mm copper, that's 13 feet long and made contact to Canada from Ireland with just 20 watts, I'm going to have a lot of fun with that. Eric, KJ4YZI has some videos on it too his channel is hamradio concepts.
I am very familiar with the MFJ-935. I was also involved in the design
@@cebutler100 Very interesting Chad, thanks for sharing, the 935 is a very interesting loop tuner. why does it not have the little coupling loop like other loops ? And why do you need different loop sizes ? is it more efficient this way using different loop sizes ?
@@o00scorpion00o slightly different design with a matching capacitor rather than a fixed LC circuit
@@o00scorpion00o hard to tune a single wire to tune each ham band, it would take a huge variable capacitor. different wire lengths for each band makes it more efficient
@@cebutler100 Interesting Chad, thanks for the info. I intend to experiment more with it during the finer months. It would be great if MFJ could update it to be weatherproof and have remote tuning and tripod mount. Still for portable use I think it will work well because I won't have to set up radials or try string up a wire antenna. I made up another loop of 9 feet and I made contacts on 20 meters and it's supposed to work on 17 too and they can be good bands during the day and it's a pretty compact setup.
Thank you for the video. I just ordered this reader but have not received it yet. I have two questions, does it come with the power cord? Also, the keyboard can you show me what kind of pin connection there is for the keyboard? Thank you very much.
Que coisa mais idiota!! "Fazer Cw deste jeito é fazer aquilo com camizinha"
Plz beware, if u purchase this unit u will need and AT keyboard (5 Pin Din) or purchase an adaptor cable. I ordered a new PS2 Keyboard and a PS2 to 5 Pin DIN (AT) adaptor. (Adaptor needs to be Male on 5 PIN DIN side, and the PS2 Side of the Adaptor Female), Adaptor on amazon 4$ and keyboard was about 15$, you will also need and audio cable, the type of cable will depend upon your rig for audio to the 464, receive, then another cable from the 464 Keyer out to the rig. When I finally get all my cables etc, I may put a video together showing all connections, still waiting on 1 cable
Are you still using this antenna?
No returned it
@@cebutler100 why did you sell it ? how did it perform ? I see MFJ have a new version of this, the old one got good reviews on Eham.
@@o00scorpion00o I am curious as to why he sold it too. Very little practical experience info on the web. I read several reviews at DX Engineering and decided to try one. It should be here in a few days. If not good will return and buy 1788 when they become available. 73
putz, it's hard to imagine these days, that back then people had fun with it.
Аппарат конечно диковинный. Жаль пластинки. Они запилены. Там на очереди ,,Стикс"
Аппарат по 3классу. 63-12000gz. Капец пластинке.
The only working prototype. It never made it into production even though it would have been successful.
That dam thing is sick
7 year old video, 5month old comments. Lol come on people
totally out of focus
The music ruined this video
If it's on a gold course I bet people feed it. Sadly alot of people feed foxes where I live which makes them come up to people thinking of this human will feed me too.

Rabies
I think it has rabbies, not afraid of humans and walking in circles. Could be symptoms of rabies.
As soon as I saw a video of a fox out in the day I thought so as well
Any chance you could show the cable set up for this 464.One guy has said you need a stereo 1/4 to single rca as a mono 1/4 to single rca wont work but i cant find one of these cables anywhwere on the internet and mfj are a waste of time never answer any e-mails .
What output transistor is used in your MFJ-9320?
Hey Chad, thanks for the video. I got my MFJ few months ago but my FT 1000 mark v PS blown out so, I'm waiting for the technician. How is your experience using 100W or more with this antenna? Could you give me some reccomendations about it? 73. VA3GON.
Hi Gerardo -do you have the 1780? If so, how do you like it?
Hail State 73 de W5BLX
i cannot read my received clearly. can u help me how to adjust the tone and the volume? what is the proper settings on this please.? i can transmit very will but the reader mfj 464 cannot read very will. please help.
There are two trim pot adjustments on the front one is for tone and the other is signal level. With a small flat blade screwdriver, set them both to the center rotational position. With a good morse code signal rotate the tone trim pot slowly until the tone is picked up and the red led flashes the brightest. Once the tone is matched, them you can set the level. If the led flashes too much, turn the signal level down.
@@cebutler100 thank you. i 'll try. 73
Why I can't transmit using my keyboard? Can u teach me how?
thats my problem before but its okay now... just follow the manual. my problem now is i cannot get the correct and the proper settings for tone and volume so the device can read cw will.
can you give us a layout showing cable connections from mfj644 to radio icom 7300?thank you in advance
Explain
you got out to Bend, oregon using qrp from the southern us?
NO QRL ?? Shame on you !!!!
Old Video Chad - but did you keep the MFJ-464 and continue to use it? -- N1KTJ Kevin
Yes absolutely. I use it when I work cw. Permanent fixture to my setup
Thanks. Chad. Was looking at software called MRP40 to interpret Morse via laptop . But I like the idea of a stand alone device and keyboard.

It’s a remastered album, not vintage or the original.

dan williams you’ve just found a goldmine
Well done video. It appears the Cub may be a better choice for battery power operation with the low amp draw shown.
is this guy talking to himself..............no can hear........
It looks that the output power is twice more than consuming power :)
