Your horses remained very calm and responsive the whole ride. They trusted you and did not panic whilst the shouting and whip waving was going on. The fact your horse only started to strike out once you were off really showed that she didn't want to hurt you or put you in danger. Well done to you both and your lovely horses.

I dont anything about horses. Can someone tell me what the issue was? Was the male not just saying hello like dogs do when they are out or was it trying to mate?

Something similar happened to me years ago. Me and my sister were riding and an andalusian stallion broke throught the fence... he was interested in my mare but wanted first to beat the shit out of my sisters gelding. Saw him as an opponent. My sister was only 13. So i told her to get down let the reigns up and let her Ex-Racer run home ( no streets, only fields to our stable). Poor horse had more then 50 bite marks when we came home and he was waiting there for us. It worked somehow like planned but still... not really happy that i let him run like this but what else could we have done.

Stallions can be @ssholes. That's why you pasture them seperately.

If you couldn't gallop off you should have dismounted one led mares away one lead the stallion by his mane shouldn't be riding horses if your not prepared for danger, you certainly shouldn't be hitting other horses and screaming abuse you just made situation worse your both way to heavy for those horses no wonder they couldn't gallop to safety yuod be better riding a pair of shire horses Suffolk punch or clydsedale they can better carry heavy weight, ex household cavalry

Foolish and irresponsible to ride there and such a heavy weight for the horses to carry if the riders weren't so fat the horses could have galloped away from danger pair of idiots

Lol me and my mate from another UK city also have separate experiences being ridden down by angry horses I remember shielding myself with a tent and running through the field Rite of passage lol wouldn't have it any other way

I just came back from riding and see this video. Holy shit!!! I’ve been on trails where people let their dogs go off leash and then scream at us. Um no, your dog attacked, my horse was just trying to get away. I hope that you have an update on that stallion and why he was there. He was a looker but obviously the king of his herd. So scary I can’t even imagine. Your horses were angels and trying to protect you both!

Why was a Stallion on a public bridleway ? some people don`t understand how dangerous Stallions can be , I looked after a lot in my work and believe me they can turn on you very quickly when aroused I have scars to prove it , a friend had an Arab stallion from a foal at 5 she led him to his own field , he caught the scent of a mare in season turned on my pal bit her stomach , she was ripped open and died of her injury
