I am entertaining a job offer that is in this town. Never been to Vermont, but did live in Alaska for a few year, so not worried about the cold. My question is, is their a meth problem there? For some reason in every small old time time I have resided in, always Meth - Heads.

I've been wanting to move there and move my PBS TV Series there as well. I love Barre... The pandemic saw me getting a bit stuck here in NY. Made the best of it, but Vermont is still my goal for my show and life.

Barre is very safe. No random acts of violence around here. Any kind of assault is between people who know each other. We did go thru a period of store robberies, but that hasn't happened in years. Never ask someone from central vermont about barre, or you are going to get an inflated exaggeration of how dirty and drug infested it is. Unknown to the people saying this barre is quite a wealthy area. The town is all residential plus the granite quarries up on the hill, and the city is both commercial and residential. IT is a great place to grow up, but just like every other small town in america you have to be prepared to say no when you get into high school and the drugs start becoming a thing.
