Courtney has covered a lot of songs by quite popular bands and single singers. Adele, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, The Beetles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley. She was about 11 making those covers. Julie encouraged her to study the way others sang the same song and to learn different techniques. She really makes the written words come alive. It is very refreshing that you listen to multiple versons of Courtney covering the same song at different points in time. Hertlepool.. Sounds like Heart Lee Pool Courtney dances around the stage when performing but it is whether she has a fixed microphone, small space but when she can, she does move around very effectivly. Her voice kids, when she was 12, is quite evident of her movements and so is the A.G.T performances. From Chris.

Another great multiple reaction! This is another one that wouldn't have occurred to me but I love it. It helped my examine my choices for my Courtney Hadwin playlist. Kind of a good thing I never liked that song until I heard her do it, otherwise I might have to grab 'em all. This made it tough not to put at least two on it but I think I only got the beer fest and I'll stick with that. Thanks again!

The first version is from late 2015. She's 11 years old. The second is from the West Hartlepool Rugby Club Beer Festival, in July 2016, in the week she turned 12. Look at what's happened to her performing style in between. Her voice coach, Julie Miles, had introduced her to Janis Joplin, and Courtney, while searching UA-cam for videos of Janis, had also found James Brown and Tina Turner, and discovered that she didn't need to just stand still and sing -- she could let out all of the energy that music created inside her. At the Beer Festival she's showing us an early version of what I call Courtney Dancing, which was fully developed by the following year at The Voice Kids.

I like multiple reactions, especially when I think they match unintentionally. At least I can't imagine you meant to search for two videos that say in the title she's covering a woman from the British Islands, when both songs were written by American men (Prince and Bob Dylan)😃 thank you! But I've really enjoyed the reactions to videos that naturally go together too👍

What these videos show is something incredible, a young girl singing with natural talent. No miming, no lip-syncing, just a real voice. And the way you could tell is the fact that each performance was slightly different. The way she held a note, the slight differences in pitch, differences in vocalisation...etc. Yes, she was only 10 or 11 at the time of the recordings. But there is ome thing that gets me when she was singing these sorts of songs at that age,... Where does she get that power from? Her age and size, she could play hide and seek behind the mic stand. She is a phenomenon My favourite performance out of these three is probably the 2nd one, the West Beer Festival performance. It's her dancing, trying to put something original, her personality, into the song. But all three sound amazing, all uniquely her. By the way, have you heard her covering some songs from Aerosmith? She's covered Crazy and I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, here are the titles... - Courtney Hadwin performs I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing Aerosmith - Courtney Hadwin - Crazy by Aerosmith July 31 2020

To give some background for these: The first song here is from the competition Open Mic UK 2015 -- the Grand Final of the contest, which took place in January 2016 (yes, it ran over into the new year) at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. (You should see a picture of the complex. It's pretty spectacular.) Courtney was 11. The second of the two songs is actually quite a bit earlier, from the competition TeenStar UK 2015, in spring, and the information I have is that this is the very first UK-wide singing contest Courtney ever entered. She was 10 years old.

@@Sharki_V Courtney has always been painfully shy, but has always become a different person when the music starts -- she says so herself. One of her "professional" activities I want to find out more about started even earlier than what you are seeing in these videos: starting when she was 9 or 10, and continuing for years, Courtney worked as a "busker" -- a street singer. Her father would drive her to a big city, like York (about 60 miles from her home) or sometimes London (270 miles), and she would stake out a corner and start singing, for donations. People would gather to listen, and drop a pound, or five, or ten, into the hat. (In the U.S., busking is pretty common in tourist areas of New Orleans and San Francisco.) Busking was her way of making enough money to hire a voice teacher who could help her improve. (And to pay for the trips.) Her grandfather says that she got so much attention that the shopkeepers loved seeing her show up, because her presence increased foot traffic around their stores, but the other buskers hated it, because she'd draw the crowds away from them. When you watch a lot of these early videos of her in competitions, you'll see she usually ends each song by saying "Thank you." That's a habit she picked up from busking.

Two very sweet videos from her early years singing, so cute and precious. And for her to have that emotional maturity while singing Nothing Compares... it still amazes me. And your question, I don't mind the multiple videos per review, it gives more chances for people to find out more about singers that they don't know about. And I still think that putting together the official music videos, other videos and live performances of Courtney's original songs into one reaction video could be a good idea.

What you mentioned at the start of the video is another reason why I am a fan of Courtney, her tasteful fashion sense. That is what put me off of a lot of modern singers who chose to be either edgy or overtly sexual. I was a fan of Olivia Rodrigo, before she started cussing every third line. I was a fan of Miley. before wrecking ball, twerking and the whole change of personality. And people like Lady Gaga who was their whole identity... nope. But Courtney is keeping it relatively clean, a wholesome appearance, and lets her talent show through. That's what I Love about her.

Thank you for another great Courtney Hadwin reaction! Are you buying the album on digital, CD or vinyl, 'cuz she's putting it out on all three. Though she's keeping her cards close, the teasers for You Only Love Me When I Lie (or just Love Me When I Lie for short maybe IDK), say it's an instant Courtney Classic, a vintage blues performance that is probably the favorite to be her signature song going forward. But there are so many more amazing snippets, the unique first single Spellbound is not the only likely hit by a long shot (can hardly wait 2 weeks for the whole song though). Never Say Never might be the only other lock to be on the album. Everybody who's heard teasers for that one fell in love with it too. But I've even heard that the cover of Janis Joplin's Move Over that Courtney recorded for the album, which had been considered a lock (and the only cover), has been crowded out by originals. But back to this video, Monsters probably required the most improvising by Courtney and the band. I think the original record uses the most studio production that can't be duplicated live, but I don't miss any of it. The stuff they did to replace it was perfect. That's probably why you didn't notice 2 guitars before, I think a lot of folks didn't, but this song demonstrates the wisdom of having both. The interplay stands out to me for the first time also, even though I'd noticed it was there (read it in the description on Jagged right away 2 months ago: Orlando Avalon - Electric Guitar; Gabrielle Ornate - Keyboard; Matt Townsend - Drums; Mia Duckworth - Electric guitar; Raj Bumia - Bass). Thank you again and enjoy the rest of your day!

Flailing Idiot is fantastic! A bunch of the Freeze The Fall fanbase (Cold Front) have adopted and support them. Recommend also checking out Don't Come Back and Is It Just Me?. You're only the 4th reaction channel to feature them, so ground floor on this!

Do you remember I told you I had seen some nasty comments? Courtney is! very shy. If you listen to many of her friends that have been asked, they'll tell you how shy is when she first meets someone new. She has said that once the music starts she is taken over by the sounds and that allows her to perform the way she does. in Kevin Bowe interview, he talks about Courtney at length. Check it ou.. huggss From Chris.

Thanks again sweetheart for your Courtney reactions, I'm enjoying them so much. A little something to catch you up about Courtney. She started vocal lessons at age ten, but the thing is she paid for her lessons herself and gas money to get there by busking on the streets for money to do so. a lot of people were busking and they would get a little upset when she showed up, but the shop owners loved her because of the crowd she would draw. Courtney has worked her ass off from the very beginning to get where she is and it hasn't been easy. Just yesterday afternoon she went live on social media and explained what happened with her from AGT on, like her contract with Simon when he sold everything, then the covid hit and delayed everything for almost two years. But during that time she learned to love writing, so she met Kevin Bowe and they hit it off and wrote songs for the next five years without ever meeting each other. She did look at another label but decided labels just won't to change her and that was happening. She went totally independent in 2023, only keeping Kevin with her. They're just the perfect match and work so well together. The first time they met was last year when she was asked to sing at Carnegie Hall at Clive Davis tribute, which by the way Miley Cyrus was supposed to do the song but Clive said no he wanted Courtney Hadwin to do it and called her himself personally and invited her. That's the first time her and Kevin met face to face after writing and producing songs together for nearly six years. Now that her first single off the album drops on February 21 she's all over social media to promote the single and album, unfortunately the haters are the first ones to comment especially FB. All Courtney's life she's had people hating on her, in school kids would tell her she couldn't sing and looked weird especially when she danced. She kept AGT a secret until she stepped on stage by the end a lot of those bullies were talking a different tune. But the saddest thing was all the grown ups that would go on social media and be damn right mean to a little child. The grown ups were so much more hateful and hurtful to her than the kids were. It hurt her a lot but instead of listening to them and changing who she is, she learned how to use it and be more determined to be no one but herself. The kids couldn't change her, the adults couldn't, and the labels couldn't. Courtney is going to be no one but herself, if she makes it or not she's going to be nothing but Courtney. Infact there's a video of Courtney preforming Beautiful Me at a singing competition, the difference in the song from the original is Courtney wrote another verse and included it in her performance. It's a verse she wrote about people bullying her, making fun of her and she does it so great, she kinda speaks the words almost in a rap fashion. Would love to see you react to Beautiful Me so you can see how Courtney can handle people making fun of her at such a young age. OHH yeah one more thing before I keep running my mouth and boring you, talking about Courtney doing Opera she did a duet challenge on TikTok singing Opera and it went completely viral, how can you not like someone with so much talent and so determined to be better than yesterday and even better tomorrow. Only thing I can think about those people is they're so jealous

I totally agree, they're jealous. I've been nothing but supportive of Courtney throughout the years. I know what it's like to be bullied, it's not nice. She can sing the way she wants, dance the way she wants or dress the way she wants. Nothing can hide her literally amazing talent. Nothing should hold her back, she's got an amazing future ahead of her.

Firstly, thank you for the shout out, much appreciated. I have seen all four of these videos many times. Her performance of Titanium, whichever version, is truly phenomenal. It honestly is one of my favourite songs from her younger years singing. When she hits that sustained high note, then again and again, then takes it up another level or two towards the ending of the song,... instant full body goosebumps. Not only that, all throughout the song, her control, her power and breath strength, with still a touch of emotional venerability, phenomenal. And what really blows me away is her age and stature at that time. How young and tiny she was at that time. Where does that strength, power, control and vocal maturity come from? As an example, the performance at Jax Bar was either a few days before or after either her 10th or 11th birthday. She did two other songs that night, one of them was Proud Mary, but I cannot remember what the other one was. But so young, and tiny. Literally born for this. And your reactions were just how I thought they would be, because mine were the same. On another note, here is the name of another original song she wrote early on in one of those COVID lockdowns. She was around 15 or 16 at this stage. She wrote this on her own, with no writing partner, or label interference. This video is an early draft, a work in progress to the working song. The title of the youtube video is this: - Courtney Hadwin - Good Old Days (Original) And no, I still have no idea why she is not more well known than what she is, she should literally be dominating the charts, at the level of Taylor Swift already, in my opinion.
