Thanks for posting this! I canceled my appointment at a local repair shop after seeing this and bought an OEM part from Ebay. Install took about 30 mins. Since my right side buckle was fine, I just replaced the belt and pretensioner so no need to remove the seat.

This is a such good video. Thanks. I got the pressure around 40 psi and the issue is kinda similar. Do you think it is over charged? Since yours works fine at 35 psi.
Thank you! It could possibly be but that’s not much overcharge. Might be the solenoid on yours too.
@@matt-diy thanks! Has it been working good since?
@@mohamedessam6891 yes!
I'd really appreciate a video of the pieces underneath the active shutter grille and how that's setup. I have a 2019 Subaru Impreza that hit a pole and I'm fixing it, all back together thanks to you and this video but I still am having trouble with the few pieces of plastic on the bottom. All I have hanging down is the splash shield and two fender liners.
Thanks for the comment, I’d love to help but unfortunately I no longer own this car. Sorry! Good luck
UA-cam is so invaluable thanks to creators such as yourself showing new things that conventional media or resources just don’t cover :)
Hey thank you so much for the comment!!! ☺️
Great video! Some of these take LV and others take Mercon V. It actually says on the dip stick which to use and though the engine is the same, my dipstick is a different style and in another location. Very thorough video and I had to rock my head at every fast forward moment. Something about that smoooooth sax.
Hahaha thank you for the comment!
I have the older base model midsize 570. Mine still only has about 212hrs and still looks new. Mine did not come with any storage compartments under the seat. I bought a set of 3 so I not only now have the big one in the middle, I have one of each side of it. It's also nice because it seals out dust and mud from he bottom of the seat. Mine doesn't have those storage nets on the back of the dash. Mine just has that little shelf which is pretty much worthless for anything other than some gloves. I'm gonna look for some kind of mesh I can add to mine. Had mine for 2 years and it's been nothing but great. I take care of my stuff and don't put a lot of hrs on it. Kinda considering selling mine just because they are still worth so much money and getting one of those Kei Japanese trucks for utility use to get enclosed cab and heat/ac. Plus I already have a dirt bike if I want to really go have some off-road fun.
Quality camera work! Thanks for showing how to reset the oil life inside too!
The Amazon product link you gave looks like a copper spark plug not Iridium or platinum? Wrong link?
Thank you! Try this: amzn.to/3MlSJIw I have updated the links!
Thanks so much, this is extremely helpful! Did you find out if the AGM battery performed better, or did the XC90 get that one as well?
So far it has performed much better!! I old definitely recommend, xc90s aren’t kind to batteries haha.
@@matt-diy hahaha you're not wrong! Where I live it gets down to -30 in winter and I feel like my XC90 just eats it alive hahaha Next one I put in I'll give them a go too!
Time capsule comment was accurate, that interior looks pristine!
Thanks man she sure does!!!
Thank u sooo much for this video!!!! First timer here and my brother said he'd help but I really wanted to learn how to do it by myself and not feel so useless. Even my parents were stunned and surprised that I was able to do it by myself. I recorded a video of me doing it and sent it to my brother...he was surprised too but congratulated me lol car things are out of this world until u actually muster up the courage to try. Thank u so much again!!!!!! I 1000% appreciate ur effort to change the oil AND record 👍💯💪
Thank you so much for the nice comment!! Glad it inspired you to give it a try!!! 😊
Good Job. I am changing my mother in laws 2014 XC90 oil today. Thanks
Thank you and good luck!
Just thinking. Wouldn’t it be easier to disconnect the torque converter from the flywheel before lifting the engine ? Leaving the converter in the transmission. Also reducing the risk of damage something ? Any thoughts?
Possibly! Can’t remember why we chose to do it this way specifically.
Thank you for your video!!! Just bought an older Focus with a bit of a rough idle and some sputtering. About to change plugs, PCV valve, and some other things. You video was very informative.
Thank you!
Great video Matt. Thank you.
Thanks!!

Great video on this. Super easy and to the point t
Thank you!
Great man!!! how you explained it....thanks for the info a the step by step
Thank you!!!
Good job, from a retired Toyota mechanic..
Thank you very much!
You have any other cars you trying to sell? I’m looking for anything that drives & stop beater with heater is what you call it. I just wrecked my last car & was looking for reviews on this company that offered to buy it so I’m just here to see if this company legit or not must be if you used them twice
Yes they are definitely legit!
Came across this on accident however this is insanely useful thank you!
Glad it helps! Thanks for the comment!
For some reason Amazon says that this particular part isn't going to fit an 05 focus, but there's another one that looks almost identical for a few dollars more that does. I am going to go with your recommendation just because you found a filter for it, and that's the hardest part 😂 my mechanic has always said he'll look in to my "lifetime" filter because that couldn't possibly be right but he never does. I'm just gonna do it myself.
Good luck! Shouldn’t be too bad!! Also if you look in the description, it will fit a 2005! They probably have the fitment tool wrong.
How much fuel do you lose when draining? I loosened my drain petcock and after about a gallon of fuel loss, I tightened it back up. Am I missing something? Thanks
A gallon seems like a lot, maybe a half gallon drained from what I remember, make sure your key is off and not pumping fuel.

Im a woman and am tired of being overcharged for something i can learn to do...thank you. Im about to do my own oil change thanks to you taking time to record this and share, thanks a million!🎉
You are very welcome! Thanks for the comment!!
You totally got this. Learning how to work on cars is really fun and confidence inspiring.
NICE and simple video thank you very musch sir.
Thanks for the comment!!
Just curious but i followed all the steps and when i start my truck, fuel is leaking from the housing. Do you have any ideas what it could be?
Not sure, maybe your cap is on wrong or not tight?
Do you know if this will work on an 09 Focus PZEV?
I don’t think it will.
Thank You so so much man! You did an awesome, detailed job explaining this. I also appreciate the fact that you posted the actual links to get the parts. I have a 2007 Focus, do you think that these parts will work on it? I noticed in the video you mentioned 05 and 06, so Im just double checking before I order.
Thank you and glad it was helpful! Yes, I believe this should work for 2007 as well!
@@matt-diy You're so very welcome! And awesome!! Thank You so much again.
Looks easy will do myself rather than pay mechanic $120
Yep! Good luck!
Thanks, i have a 2012 and will be doing a fluid change before fall. Very helpful video.
Glad to help!
I don't do well with written instructions I am more a verbal/visual learner so thank you because this helped me to install this exact tire holder on my trailer 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Been trying to get my ball joint in for two days. At the point where I am considering filing it down a bit so it slides in easier.
I have actually done that too and haven’t had problems. They are incredibly difficult.
@@matt-diy I first tried tapping it in with a chisel then I switched to using a carriage bolt so I could hit it harder. Then I tried the 2" PVC. Then I put it in the freezer for a few hours. No luck with any of it. I think the issue is that it is virtually impossible to keep it perfectly vertically straight even with the bolts in place. Once it goes a little crooked it gets bound up and there is just no way it will go in at that point. If you look at the tool that has been designed for this it has some very long guides that go into the bolt holes that keep everything perfectly aligned. Anyway, I put it in the freezer again last night to give it a longer cool down period. I'll give it another shot after work today and if that doesn't work I'll break out the file.
Yeah I know the struggle, I think even some aftermarket ball joints might be made just slightly the wrong size. Ideally you need a press of the pvc doesn’t work but your right, have to keep it perfectly straight!
Advice to you. Whenever you take lug nuts off always put them back on by hand or you'll Cross thread damaging the lug nuts. You don't want that believe me
I’ve done it enough that I know to be careful and I was not forcing any of these on. Thanks for the comment though!
Thanks! I have a 2012 Nissan Altima Coupe and I’ve decided to do the brakes myself, this video helped a ton!👍
That’s awesome! Thanks for the comment!
Good video bud
Thank you!
I just did mine and 5 quarts came out but I only had the 4 qt bottle on hand and no extra. I get about 1/8" on the very bottom of the dip stick but nothing near the full range. Will it hurt anything to drive 15-20 miles to town to get another quart? I live out in the country nothing closer.
You should be safe! Just don’t go farther.
How much torque do you need ?
Not sure, but you don’t need it very tight just snug is fine. Just tight enough that you can loosen with one hand.

Awesome, thanks for thiz
Thanks for the comment!
Can you use Lucas even if you don't have a leak will it help?
I’d be careful, sometimes it will but I’m careful about pouring things into the transmission.
Hi, do you have any advice for uneven idling, fuel in the oil and vibrating steering wheel while idling and breaking on a '07 ford focus please?
Sounds like your piston rings are shot if you have fuel in the oil, your engine may be on its way out.
@@matt-diy It only has 141000 miles
@@matt-diy There is no smoke and the engine is not burning oil.
It could be a fuel injector that’s stuck open.
Not too safe to run inside with no ventilation you agree?
Had my garage door open and only ran a few minutes.
Do you suffer from Autism?
I can't find the gas tank but I am assuming it's under the dump bed. Thanks. I would have never thought of looking there. I was looking all over.
