It will self heal against the vast majority of damage but ultimately nothing is fool proof. The whole idea is that if you get damage too deep to self heal then it’s a lot easier to replace that piece of PPF then it is to have the panel repainted.

I had PCCB on my GT3 and loved them. Especially on track. Steel brakes much cheaper to replace pads and discs as and when you need to. If it was a street car with no track work then go for steel.

On darker coloured cars 100% yes if they’re left outside in the sun that’s more than enough to self heal.

Saloon, limousine and sedan are just different names for the saloon(uk) or whatever it is called in your region. Usa it is called a sedan. Eu may be limousine or sedan. Sportback is the hatchback version.

Personally I’d leave it grey. I think contrast roofs only work if they’re carbon fibre

Titan Coatings Vulcan TX155 Josh. Cost depends on the age of the car. Is it brand new? Vulcan has now progressed slightly and is now one of Titan’s “Dark Matter” series of coatings so is now even denser and more chemically resistant than before.

@@brcardetailing I ordered a 2023 M3. I am concerned with the potentially high additional costs of protecting the paint. Are we talking like $10k or what? I did see a BMW with the frozen paint and they just wrapped the areas that are more prone to rock chips, like the front end of the car etc. It’s not as comprehensive but I don’t want to spend thousands to protect the car on top of all I am paying already.

@@MyWatchTherapy any type of coating will give protection from bird lime, wash marring etc but will offer zero protection from stones or anything that’s thrown toward the car whilst it’s being driven. PPF wound be the only thing that would give protection against pretty much anything. It can be applied in matte so it wouldn’t add any gloss to the paintworks finish. A front end is very popular which consists of bumper, bonnet (hood if you’re in the states) wings, A pillars, headlights and wing mirror caps. Sills would also make a lot of sense. In the UK that would cost around £2k + tax (20% in the UK) you can then add a coating on top of that which would give you a hydrophobic layer helping cleaning and ease of maintenance. If you’re concerned about costs I’d personably steer clear of frozen paintwork and stick with a normal finish.

Often applied incorrectly or not at all by the supplying dealerships. Huge money maker for them with kits costing £40 being sold for £500-600.

@@brcardetailing So I understand. However, if applied correctly it’s excellent and the aftercare is brilliant (lifetime guarantee) - they’ll come out to you and help. That’s invaluable (from my experience).

@@davidg2022 it’s very much like the “lifetime guarantee” offered on fabric protection when you buy a sofa. It’s literally worthless. The lies told by salesman with wildly optimistic claims regarding lifespan are laughable. It’s purely a money maker. Much like gap insurance, alloy wheel & tyre insurance. It’s all miss sold and benefits the salesman through commission and the dealer through profits. People get told it’s a ceramic coating whereas it’s nothing more than a nano sealant. The poor lads working at the dealers as Valeters are given an hour to clean the car (which should really also be decontaminated, machine polished and panel wiped prior to application) and apply the supagard/gardx etc etc whereas a detailer would take two days to do the job correctly and apply a proper ceramic/quartz coating.

@@brcardetailing Not particularly keen on ‘tit for tat’ back and forth(!) but I’m not referring to the sales spiel - of which I have acknowledged there’s an aspect of that. However, **as I mentioned** when applied properly it’s just as effective as other methods. In respect of the lifetime guarantee - that’s with supergard directly; a family run business who are very responsive through email and only too pleased to come out to visit! I honestly think the application quality depends on the dealer. Overall, a good experience on my part so each to their own 🙏
