    I was here, touching night capped with this and Not Fade Away made it extra special. I’ll remember you was a nice touch from Bobby. 😢This song always reminds me of Jerry’s last show with this being the second last song. It’ll always first in my heart ❤️

    So beautiful…I’ve never made it thru Black Muddy without bawling my eyes out…Thank you so much for sharing this. ❤🙏🥹 I’m about to sell my entire vintage band t-shirt collection so that I can catch a show the first wk in August…AND as luck would have it…My other life long musical best friend and true love … ❤Morrissey🥰 … will be playing at House of Blues in Vegas the very same weekend…😳 I mean..clearly that is a sign…Is it not? I have to go..Plus..my husband has nvr seen Moz live…so yassss…this is a done deal. What are the odds that Dead & Company and Morrissey would be playing in the same city on back to back nights!!?? 😍😍😍 This will nvr happen again…I don’t care what I have to sell…We will be seeing Dead & Co and Moz in Vegas this August…Then… I can die blissfully happy and at absolute peace with the world..🌎 🥰🙏 Thanks again for sharing. Your video literally just made my day 💯 percent better!

    The newest 'hurts like a John Mayer song' that's destined to become another JM classic! He raises some poignant issues examining why people have to go. He's treading deep waters but isn't that what John does, and does so well for us? It's a masterpiece and keeps him ever in the higher echelons as A Genius, A Master, The Man and THE KING ❣💡🌟💎👑

    I don’t know if you remember but “Honey” is the way they call the Katy Perry character on How I Met Your Mother. Whoever watched the show must remember her little participation in it and that people saying “oh, honey” to her was like a catchphrase.

    This is a GREAT song for John's nasally singing. I'm not trying to be a big hater here - sometimes the "John Mayer vocals" just are tough for me to take. The guitar work's awesome, and the vocals are on point for this one!

    A lot of people wonder why this song is called emoji of a wave. I loved somebody, and it ended. But the feelings didn’t end, for either of us. But we knew we had our roles to play, and our homework to do, to keep ourselves away from (everything?) And on Sunday nights usually, the weak nights (W.E.A.K. nights)... every once in a while my phone would go *errrp* and I pick up, and it would be her… but it would just be an emoji of a wave. And It just meant: it’s all a little too much right now. And I would send back an emoji of a wave, and I would say, yea, I get it. You’d be surprised… how okay that made things just to see one little emoji of a wave . It meant: you’re still in here . And it meant: and you’re still in here too . And sometimes, that’s the only thing we need to know to keep walking, that we’re still in there. And the thing we forget is that, we’re always in there. If you’ve ever loved someone, you’ll always love that person. And then, every once in a while, life will just throw you that wave.

    There's a definite melody that goes to the lyrics of this song, and the way Mayer is singing it sounds like he doesn't know it or he is being far too loose with his interpretation of the melody. Either way I think it really detracts from the song; it's a poor pop interpretation of a great song.

    • @gordon-hensley
      @gordon-hensley 6 років тому

      thats what some people thought of jerry doing motown stuff -- "interpretive" is just that... but whatever -- peace/out

    • @DocBrownGuitar
      @DocBrownGuitar 6 років тому

      I understand where you are coming from, but even when Jerry covered Mo-town, or any song for that matter, he respected the original melody. The way John interprets the verses sometimes just seems off and strays too far from the tune in a way that isn't servicing the music.

    • @gordon-hensley
      @gordon-hensley 6 років тому

      i respect all opinions :)

    • @aclao
      @aclao 6 років тому

      He is playing around with the melody vocally because he can't hit a lot of the high notes that Jerry was able to. John's false is not very strong and he can put more emphasis into the notes he can hit than not. I'm sure he would love to sing the melody as is but I love how he's able to make it work for him.

    I starting going to Dead shows in 1978 and I'm so glad John decided to hang with the band and stay. He's so talented as a musician and he fit in at the DNA level. Fully stoked.
