I am trying to accomplish my goals. A goal I have yet to hit. To get my ass back into shape. I currently weigh 230 lbs with 23.7% body fat. I am trying to bulk up to 240 lbs with 12% body fat. I want to hit this goal before I turn 50. September 19, 2024. Eight months from the time I started this journey.
I am not a fitness influencer. I am not a professional. What I do is what I enjoy. I do what feels right for me. I am not selling you anything or trying to prove to you that my way is the right way. I have taken the first step in my journey to be healthy. To maybe have more time with my kids. To show them that I will bust my ass for anything worth accomplishing.
For those that think, "i am too old", "I don't have the time." Make the time. Do what makes you feel good. Fuck what everybody else thinks. You do you. Prove yourself wrong. Make adjustments. Not excuses.

Your not doing more than 15 pull ups . Ever. Not full pull ups. Also atbsome point ypu wont be giving your muscles time to recpver.

Your workout programming needs some work. Big muscle groups first, then smaller ones. Dont do isolation movements in between your compounds ... you'll be weaker. Small things to tweak....but you pushing and working hard.
Do the pull ups without the weight .. would have gotten more quality reps. Also looking to do that after heavy dumbbell rows was always going to be taxing. I would pull up first with the weight. . then roll over to the dumbbell rows. Just some food for thought.

Hello, Kansas. My regards to Toto. Good job, sir. But --- not to nag -- but you'd be wise to figure out a way to have some spotter arms. As you go up in weight, this issue will become more of a big deal. When I worked out in public gyms, I always got a human spotter. (Although such a guy can't help much in some situations, say, if the weight slips out of your hands). Working out in my home gym now, I've got some mechanical spotter pins on my rack that protect me. You'll find lack-of-spotter tragedies on You Tube all over the place. Once you get overconfident with a weight, you might be in for a bad surprise. But good work, and progress, as I say. Respect for the task you're doing.
I am kind of an older guy in Kansas (a little over 50yrs but who is counting). The different weight amounts for every set seems interesting. I watched a couple of Josh Bridges crossfit videos and started doing some EMOM. Is that the same concept? Trying to do what I can at my age. Please advise.
