Speak Seldom Sounds

I fell in love with the recording process, and more specifically sound design when creating new music. This has evolved into a bit of an obsession, and with that I wanted to create a space of not recording specific songs, but rather the process to get the creative sounds I love using in recording. My hope is that this channel will encourage others to experiment and create a group of individuals who can all collaborate to develop more creative music. Overtime I hope to add a large variety of effects, synths, drum machines and samples to create random loops and show off specific elements of the gear that I love to use, and possibly even incorporate these sounds in some of my music creation.

I got a vintage Kustom 88 from a friend awhile back, its a mono Fender Rhodes knock off and is heavy as all get it out. im really after a rhodes, and I've been offered one of these, not looking to run pedals, just a warm vintage rhodes-esque sound, would the custom 88 satisfy me? or is it more its own thing/sound?
I think the kustom is it’s own thing, it sounds more like a cross between a Rhodes and a piano, if you’re looking for a Rhodes electric piano sound I’d just try to snag one of those

It's actually all electronic, with one oscillator each per key! These were made in Chanute, Kansas where Kustom makes radar and lidar guns nowadays.

I have a Kustom 88 and some of the keys stick. And advice on how to fix it?
That’s a tough one, could be a lot of things making that happen. Have your tried just working the keys up and down to see if it helps at all? You could always try to remove the top and see if something need cleaned or it could be something swollen on the inside causing it to catch.
@@speakseldomsounds2106 Yes, I opened it up today to see if anything is catching, and I could not see anything. It seems like the more I play it, the worse it gets, but it is probably just coincidence. I'm guessing that it is the change in the weather/humidity in the basement studio. I'm going to give my friend a call - he's a piano tuner - and see if he has any advice. Hopefully it can be repaired where it sits, because it's not going back up the stairs. This thing is a tad heavy. Great video, BTW. I love all the cool effects!

@@jonathanfrieze8497 I enjoy playing it, it's a one trick pony that weighs as much as a horse. But it's fun to play, it sounds a lil thin compared to a wurli or rhodes but it's got its own thing going on. I find it really shines when you crank up the trem and start throwing effects on it
