Grand Marais has become a tourist trap. Extremely high hotel rates, mandatory stays, and little service. I have gone up the north shore since 77 every year and it's now officially to damned expensive! The fish pic the first weekend of August is a joke, little vendors show, mediocre music, and if you can find a restaurant that isn't closed consider yourself lucky. After 2 days there your bored......
