Down in the Ocean in the house to the Left there is a bar with the coffee machine you can use

to hit the boulder you need the pickaxe. Yes level 11

The Preserve does tell you if you have that critter. It says next to the picture on the right Population (3) for example. So you can see in one glance if you have to donated it. Also I take the npcs with me a lot so far. My Melody gives you extra return gifts when you are handing out your daily gifts. And the others help with speed, critters, cooking, fishing etc. Its really rewarding and its fun running around together. Thanx again for making this series, I really enjoy it.
