I would say it was more tight hole to start with and it spun the wrist pin when the wrist pin bearing went then made the hole bigger in the piston. Honestly I usually always take a piece of fine sandpaper and lightly open up the pin holes on ALL of my pistons doesn't matter who makes it....I want a smooth pin fit and a place for extra oil!! I'm not saying you didn't have a bad piston but it could've been a bearing also
@@kevinz763 I reckon that is a possibility
You need to let them know theirs a problem. Defective parts. A lot of saw builders use hyway cylinder kits.
Do you sell them? Wholesale?
Giver hell J-Dog🤘
@@IndianaDoug no other way is there!
i did this 2 days ago. was pretty dang easy once i watched you. ive got an m-tronic version and when i cranked the saw it didnt seem much difference maybe just a little louder. Then, i did a forced calibration and holy crap! its like it found a new gear, completely different saw now. thanks man!
Did u juice this one up buddy
@bubbastud74 it's mostly stock man. I opened up the lower transfers some and deleted the base gasket. That's about it really.
Pretty poor quality, I know they have plating problems but thought they could manage a good piston! I just purchased a pop up Hyway for my 266/268 I'll have to a good look before fitting it😉 I generally buy Meteor but none available here.
@bumpkinrocks this is the only hyway piston I've ever had an issue with. Out of atleast 35...40 of em
Good running 395. I love ‘em 😎
@@antoniowhite2606 yessir. It's hard not to love those big 3 series!
@@jeremythomas9134 yes they sound great and easy to work on. The also hold their value 😎
I was actually going to order a hyway piston for a 395 I am getting ready to rebuild. So I'm curious what did you find wrong with the hyway for the 395 is there some port timing issues? Or piston to design in the transfer area? Nice video by the way what's not to love about a 395 other than maybe weight.
@johnsonlong1272 I just uploaded a video showing exactly what the problem with that piston is. I recommend a meteor. I wouldn't buy it bro
@@jeremythomas9134 👌 good to know
They both runs good brother
Is this one you’ve worked on and now selling?
@christinapilon3247 this one is for sale yes
I have a 440. The carb is finicky & it'll run different with canned mix vs self mix vs ethanol free vs ethanol gas and need readjusted if you switch fuel. I've rebuilt & replaced the carbs 5x. The fuel metering diaphragm doesnt last. It runs great for a firewood season, then runs like the beginning of this video after sitting a few months. ANY water in the fuel will foul the carb. It wont clear itself of water blocking flow through the fine internal filter. I tip my fuel can upside down & let any possible water settle to the end of te nozzle, then open & close it quickly, letting any water out. Then I add a little mix oil in case some settled & came out too, just to be safe. Modding the exhaust rgives it more power. The new x-cut chains cut great & draw less power.
Good to see I am not the only one that owns or uses a 039
I did the top end on my 360pro and in 5 minutes it locked up again and I swear to you I’m running the correct mix gas. I don’t understand it. What should I look for
Right on Thanks bro I have a 445 and it's the same set up as your 440,,thank God I couldn't find a fule line replacement video for my 445 , your video help 100% thanks man
where are you located I have two chainsaws they're both 036 Pros I really would like to have them rebuilt could I ship them to you
where are you located could I ship you 2 036
wow thats a strong running little 260 that bad boy looks like it cuts as fast as my ms310 i have 2 260s think one of them is a pro both the oilers went i was going to fix but i put off on them because wanted to learn to port first think i have like 11 saws lol only got like 5 going right now missing my 046 and ms460 tho there down so useing my back up 372xp
that is Impressive for a 55 wasn't inspecting that imma have to keep a eye out for a 55 now
im a fan of the 357 i call it a mini 372 looks like the rankers were little hungry lol reminds me i gotta do the top end on my 359 oh question is the 61 have the same bottom end as a 272xp or what saws have the same bottom end of a 272xp i have a 272xp ran great for like 6 months died slow like it was running out of gas i replaced top end i have gas and spark and it wont even try to start i was thinking maybe crank seals but havent split any cases yet
I'm not sure man. Ya may pop the flywheel off and make sure ya didn't shear the key tho. Just because it still has spark doesn't mean the timing necessarily isn't off. Just something to check I ran into that problem many times
i know and do work on saws a little as far as doing a top end and rebuilding carb haven't split any cases yet and i need to i have 2 ms460s that need crank bearings but anywase my question is everyone sez a 036pro is the same as a ms360 i have a 036 pro has alot of compression its oem stock and my buddy has stock ms360 and the 360 kills my saw even my ms310 is way faster then my 036 pro are the top ends the same on the ms360 as the 036pro
@bryanmeier272xp8 yeah they use the same piston and cylinder. Yours may be low on compression or possibly have an aftermarket top end on it I'd assume
A bit low in the water, but I'll bet you could put a few more on there
Где здесь 61 husqvarna? На видео только 357 husqvarna...
May wanna watch it again. It's the 2nd saw lol
I think you made a mistake- that was not a 346XP, but rather a 346 XP NE with the chain cover painted orange, or you meant to say 3.4hp in the title. It also helps to add saw ID captions if you are not going to go in logical order. Lots of backwards going on here...
@shaun4bigblocks993 the 2nd saw has a 44.3mm tip end on it. Which in fact makes 3.7 advertised horsepower. As far as going in any kinda "order"....well, just use your imagination I guess cus I'm going to continue doing things however which way I want. Thanks for watching 👍
Did it run ok with the pop up piston? I just ordered one from hl supply for a 261c that came cheap because the guy couldn't sharpen his chain lol never seen a bar and chain that had been so roughly treated.didnt want to spend much as I'm not sure what other damage has been done.
Yes it did, no complaints at all.. I use hyway Pistons quite regularly. Never had one issue outta dozens of em. Nice pistons
@@jeremythomas9134 That good to hear, did you widen the exhaust or anything or just leave the cylinder stock ?
@williamevans6554 I left this one stock. Just a simple rebuild for a local customer.
@@jeremythomas9134 do you use the hyway circlips or re use the oem or new oem, I hear lots of different things about this?
@williamevans6554 I typically reuse the oem circlips. That don't always happen, sometimes you'll lose one or whatever the cause may be. I have used the supplied aftermarket clips also though. Both hyway and meteor. Never once had a problem with em man. The main thing with any circlip imo is getting em installed properly and darn sure they're seated properly, without bending em up. I think that's where ppl have issues myself....cause I sure haven't.
Stihl bar?
Yep. Bar for an 025. Works just fine and oil hole lines up perfect
2nd saw sounds a bit tired haha
Second saw is a 56cc saw. I think you're tired. Hahahaa
@@jeremythomas9134 haha ahh right missed that
Ethan is happens I suppose. I'm not mad...I'm just disappointed. Hahahaa jpn man
Is that a 24" bar and skip tooth on that 61?
Yes sir I believe it was skip tooth chain. 24 inch bar yes
@@jeremythomas9134 Thats fairly impressive performance for what they generally cost. Thanks for your response.
Awesome video man I appreciate it
😅
Do you feel like your making a statement Joey? You got no vids...no pic. No nothing. 181 likes...what is it you're doing? Lmao ima laugh at you fool. But with no gay emoji
Must have jiggled that carb for 2 days trying to see how to remove! Saw your video and the torx screw buried in the handle -- WOW! THANKS!
You mentioned these were simple to work on I have a271 looks identical to the 261. Had to replace fuel line found it to be tedious to say the least every thing so tight, but got it done. Thank you for your video helped a lot.
I’ll keep my 036 keep your Husky
Nothing like a croc full of chips. Lol
Awesome saws 👀 👏 😎 I purchased a 5105 off eBay and be here this Wednesday 😀 very excited. Looks like very good condition 👌 like you have fixed 👍 Washington state coast 😂🦅🦅🦅 Gray Eagle 😊
I'm thinking about doing the same setup on my 036 pro. Just curious, did u run a squish test on it after doing the base gasket delete? Should I do a squish test? Since it is a pop up piston, do i have to do the squish test differently?
What brand pop up did you go with? Just curious....but no that shouldn't matter. I built a lot of these and I've always had room for a gasket delete. But still you should always check to make sure that you do.
I went with the stihl 036 hyway titanikel cylinder kit with pop up piston thru wolf creek.
@@bigboogs46 I've used that same kit on a ms360. You'll have room for a gasket delete. My kit didn't have the pop up tho. You'll be fine
Thanks, I appreciate it.
@@bigboogs46 you're welcome

Какие цылиндро можно поставить на хузварна 350?
Very nice video, thank you taking time showing us uow to do. 😊
I have a 036 and i put a new top end on it. The one i bought doesn’t have a screw to hold the to hold the top plastic in place what should i do?.
Heat up the one on the original with a torch and unscrew it with pliers and put it in the new cylinder
Nice chips. Chunk looks wet.

Hello
The Stihl is a saw that a homeowner could push through on the dogs with a dull chain, the Husky will run faster and smoother than the Stihl on higher rpms with a sharp full chisel chain, without being dogged in. Like both saws , but love the 3 series Huskies. ❤
What was that white grease you put on? Some kind of gasket maker?
The stuff I put on the cylinder is threebond 1184 gasket sealer. It's good stuff
New Sub, Thanks for this Awesome vid!!!. Just got a 261c that's seen better days...this is helping me refresh it. I have one question: I am using Lucas assembly lube-semi synthetic for rebuild-Do you think this is a good idea? Thanks Again!
Yeah that certainly can't hurt anything. Good idea to keep things lubed up
I really wanted to watch a video but whatever you were sucking on was annoying. Next time try not to suck on something when you’re doing a video.
Muy superior la stihl
I find my 670 is really heavy is the 61?
They don't feel very heavy to me. I just recently bought a dolmar 143. 17 pounds powerhead only. Now that one feels heavy to me. Close to the same weight as a 395xp
