I ran a query on Google based on your teachings to find local repair shop costs for the same issue and this was Gemini's response: "A short on a 2017 A1707 MacBook Pro can cost anywhere from $300 to $800 to repair, depending on the severity of the short, the specific component affected, and whether you choose to repair it at an Apple Store or a third-party repair shop; prices can be higher if significant damage is involved or if additional parts need to be replaced." I will purchase a used logic board to see if that resolves the issue. If the issue persists, purchasing a new Macbook is my last resort.
