Have you ever read the bible all the way through? God is an SOB. Moses commits war-crimes & is the world's worst navigator because of faith in God. "It is by faith we trade a cow for magic beans & thereby ascend to heaven." Bovine 3:21 It is amusing to hear the profound arrogance of someone knowing of God, as if He were known outside of fiction. The believer & the literate are separated by the vocabulary of fiction: Blasphemy, God, faith, prayer, prophet, etc. Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I like asking believers how they can possibly think their faith is respectable, given Jesus said faith is worthless, since you can't expect obedience when ordering mountains to move? Freud wrote, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy". Blasphemy is a fiction vocabulary word. Blasphemy is a victimless crime. Believers have a profound lack of quality-control, so we are to pretend their God made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel. Like playing book tag.

The proper & moral thing to do is immediately dismiss & rebuke the believer, those suggest we all travel better with one foot in fantasyland & grant them ownership of the vocabulary & narrative according to their interpretations. Tell me, what is good about indoctrination of children with a fantasyland & its vocabulary? Can you really expect everyone to pretend your God made Mormons so Christians would feel like Jews? What truth is found in fiction depends on the reader. Let those with ears to hear, My sheep hear My voice. Pretending is not truth, knowing good & evil. Interpretation of fiction might say Moses is the world's worst navigator & leader, having God & Faith in his vocabulary. Jesus Christ says faith is worthless since you can't expect mountains to move in obedience to your orders. The magic performed by Jesus is all a joke since the sign of Jonah is the only one given. Believers are a wicked generation gathering around notions of signs like a resurrection. Jonah was a believer who offered his life as a sacrifice by those who outnumbered him in belief in magic. The lessons is about how bad faith is.

We know them by their works: The believers indoctrinate children & exercise a vocabulary of fiction, often advocating prayer as if we did not know: Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital.

First of all, books don't work like that. We don't assume that a book is 100% true just because _some_ things in the book are true. Don't be silly. _Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter_ gets lots of things right about the life and times of the former president. But that _still_ doesn't mean vampires are real. And second, I don't accept the claims of magic from _any_ book. Compare your favorite book to any book you like - _any book you like,_ I don't care. Show me a claim of magic we both accept. Just *one,* please. The fact is, I doubt if you accept the claims of magic from any _other_ book, do you? You just make an exception for the one you were taught to believe as a child? _"The reliability of these other works for all your philosophy departments and ancient history departments and even science departments from that period of time is so unreliable."_ Yes. So what? I don't know why a philosophy department would rely on an ancient document for anything outside of the history of philosophical thought, maybe. And "science departments" recognize that science didn't even _exist_ in those ancient times. Certainly, no scientist would base their understanding of science on an ancient document - no _secular_ scientist, at least. That's just silly. Ancient history departments _do_ pay attention to old documents, of course. But they certainly don't automatically believe anything a document says. And as I say, I don't know of _any_ document where the claims of magic are accepted as valid - outside of religious historians accepting magical claims from their _own_ religion only, of course. Besides, ancient history departments pay attention to the manuscripts we have from early Christianity, too, just like other documents. Except where a Christian wants to give them more credence - because of their own personal religious motivations - historians treat them the same way they treat other ancient documents. _"Your Bible was handed down with 99% accuracy"_ *Evidence?* And even if that _were_ true, so what? The Harry Potter books were also copied with nearly 100% accuracy. That doesn't make the stories _true._ _"There is no other book in history that claim"_ You're wrong. Muslims make a very similar claim about the Quran. In both cases, that's just because claims are easy, as long as you don't have to back up your claims with good evidence. _"Let's start closing our universities and philosophy departments and ancient history departments and some of the science departments, because they all rely on these books"_ Heh, heh. No, they don't. That's just silly. I'm sure you'd _like_ all universities to be closed down, so you could push this nonsense on completely uneducated people, but... well, only those completely uneducated people, only those very _gullible_ people, would buy this silly claim. _"So, basically, faith in the Bible is an intelligent faith, is not blind"_ Yeah? OK, so how about *one piece of good evidence,* specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself, that _any_ of the magical/supernatural stories in the Bible actually happened? Just *one,* please. Why is *one* too much to ask? I will even _give_ you a guy named Jesus who was crucified by the Romans. Well? Do you have *anything* distinguishable from wishful-thinking backing up your religious beliefs? Because this is just silly.
