In Memoriam 2024

A couple of years ago, it became obvious that we were entering an era where music fans were increasingly going to be sad…that’s because our musical heroes are shuffling off this mortal coil. It really hit hard in 2016-that was a bad year with the deaths of David Bowie and Prince-that really brought home the unfortunate reality that we will continue to lose people who have been making music for ...
Terror on the Seas: The SS Atlantic

On her 19th voyage across the ocean, she struck rocks off the coast of Nova Scotia and was lost to the sea with 535 people in one of the deadliest sinkings of her era. The Lost Noah Tapes: Roswell

Noah’s lost internet radio show only had a few episodes, but it didn't take long to unearth one where he discusses The Roswell incident. The birthplace of many conspiracy theories alleging that the 1947 United States Army Air Forces balloon debris recovered near Roswell, New Mexico was not of this earth and instead it was a government cover up. The Top 10 Stories of 1995 | 128
Переглядів 6119 годин тому
There are some years when it seems like the world has gone a bit mad and 1995 was one of those years. Deadly terrorist attacks in the US and Japan shocked the world, while an assassination in Israel ended any hope for peace in the middle east. Meantime, high profile murder trials fascinated the public in Los Angeles and Toronto and Quebec came within a hair of separating from Canada. In this ep...
Theories, Thoughts, and Half-Baked Ideas

One of the byproducts of doing a show like this for as long as I’ve been doing it is that it’s really hard to shut off your brain. I’m always thinking about topic ideas, ways to connect facts and trivia, reading a lot of books, talking to a lot of people, and otherwise trying to come up with a constant stream of topics we can discuss. The result of all this research and thinking and writing are...

omg Johnny what so special these kids are, you so brave to share this kind special event of your life. Sarah you are brave either. I love both of you guys.
Baby killer 😢
😂
you guys sound younger than me so don't play age for ignorance - but you'd have your driver's license by grade 10-11 depending on when your birthday was. usually 14 year olds are grade 9ish
I really enjoyed this!
I believe it was "Columbia House Records" that was the 1-800 number for previewing albums back in the day.
I'm a fischer and this is my uncle and this also destroyed my family ..my grandparents went through hell as well.. I feel for the king family but I'm just saying
I got to ride the roller coaster, which as (maybe still is?) the largest wooden roller coaster ever made. First and last time on a roller coaster. Terrifying.

🎉❤ Happy New Year! You guys rock! Love this podcast and the morning show on Q107 ❤
Caaaaaanaaaaaadaaaaaaa!
how did you get ahold of the entirety of the chat logs, and is it possible for me to find them
This is featured in our paper in London Free Press this last Saturday Jan42025🇨🇦🤔
Awesome coverage, thank you! I just learned about this at the manitoba museum super briefly, of you're willing it would be amazing to know more about the expansion of the Hudson's Bay company throughout Canada
Final "Canadian" story of the year coming in from sunny Las Vegas, Nevada…😂. Makes me a very proud Canadian
This is super accurate 🤘
I'm going to have to say that I was very close with Delilah and the information to make the most recent turn of events that she was always a proud sister and I am fond memories of the stories of her sister and I have a great deal of moments of the month I was able to get to know Loretta and the only way I could describe the amazing person who was everything and more that I pictured Loretta being who would be a real intellectual and smart as well as the type of person who seems like a life long friend and extremely welcoming and friendly she is now in a total shock to be accompanied by the Little sister and now her heavenly partner with the sudden passing of Delilah... She was not like any other person I met my fond memories of Delilah will be with me forever to be considered as a friend of Delilah and the brief yet beautiful month I was proud to be given the chance to meet Loretta and I hope that noth of the most amazing and beautiful people who had their lives cut short will be remembered for more than a terrible story of the end of a potentially incredible life and the endless possibilities for the both of them are remembered as well. RIP beauties
Love this program man, where can I find season 3 last I saw was when they found the mine behind those fallen trees 🌲, what’s happening did they find gold !? Did they crane the swamp!?
🔪🤘🇨🇦🤘
Thanks for this great trip down memory lane! I caught part of this story on the Zone (91.3 Victoria) yesterday and was tickled pink that I could hear the whole thing at my leisure!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for this episode. My great grandfather was a L/Cpl in the HastyP's and has Assoro listed on his record. Allan Charles didn't tell his children much about anything. It was difficult for him to fight this war as his father was from a 300 year line of French Canadians and his mother was a first-gen Prussian immigrant.
Nope.... this sucks !. The woman interjecting needs to stop.
Enough with the chit chat! Get on with the story.
Ian totally did it.
Spooky 👻👻
My grandfather was the supervisor for the ministry of transportation in queens County. He used to hire Billy for general labour , but he had to watch over him closely as he was aggressive with everyone on the jobsite. This story is close to my family as everyone in the area knew how awful Billy was. As the story goes, no one's sure who actually pulled the trigger on Billy.

Wtf, no John Cale, Godfather of Punk and Alt-Rock? He implemented that ongoing minimalistic repetetive piano cluster on The Velvet Underground's All Tomorrow's Parties or I'm Waiting For The Man, which would become influentual on so many other artists and their songs: - The Stooges: I Wanna Be Your Dog ( Cale as producer playing the piano and sleighbells here) - Roxy Music: Do The Strand, Virginia Plain - David Bowie: Heroes, Cactus - Modern Lovers: Pablo Picasso, She Cracked - The Fall: Fsntastic Life - Iggy Pop: Real Wild Child Arcade Fire: Rebellion - LCD Soundsystem: All My Friends (James Murphy would get Cale to cover his song and played bass on his cover) -QOTSA: Go With The Flow and so many more were inspired by John Cale's trademark piano motif! Here's a (incomplete) playlist of songs, that have been heavily influenced by the Welsh Wizard: ua-cam.com/play/PLNINWcxxj9hGBah9z9ZC5mJ5laY2oDK2j.html&si=SAKBCMnaphauHrUU Then there's the Velvets Sister Ray, with Cale on Vox Continental Organ, delivering one of the most ferocious and menacing displays on keyboard in Rock history. The year is 1968, how on earth did he create that sound and noise back in those days? And last but not least, there is Cale's enormous solo output, almost unriveled in musical versatality, mainly using the piano/keyboard as main instrument, but as a multi-instrumentalist has played plenty of viola, bass, guitar and several other instruments on his recordings. More than anybody else on your list, John Cale belongs on here, not for his (unjustified) low popularity, but for his relevance and influence on modern music and other musicians! Oh, and while we're at it, what about Nick Cave, also a great pianist, who himself was heavily influenced by John Cale.

MUPPETS VERSION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL IS THE BEST ONE!

The Kentucky Anomaly might partly explain why Rand Paul just objected *funding for research into & treatment options for children's cancers* out of the Federal budget. Most cold-blooded thing I can remember seeing out of Congress.
