One of my favourite all time numbers from any MGM Musical . It may not have been the best film but this clip is just magic . Mitsuko is just adorable and what a voice . Dan Dailey is one of my all time favourites , just so easy to watch , very talented but is almost forgotten nowadays . I loved everything he was in x

For once Hermes Pan is stealing, not the other way round: this is a blatant 'channeling' of Michael Kidd's choreography in 'Seven Brides', and Pan adds little. Cyd, acting half her age, is coy and chucked around like Vera-Ellen at her most doll-like, instead of being allowed to cut loose and dominate a male lineup the way she would a year later in Eugene Loring's 'Red Blues' from 'Silk Stockings'. The movie is a sanitized presentation of Vegas when it was becoming a smart vacation destination: not so much a story as a string of floor show excerpts interlarded with uncredited bits by Sinatra (natch), Debbie Reynolds, Tony Martin et al. At least Cyd is cast as a haughty ballerina, which allows a glimpse of her in 'Sleeping Beauty' and Loring's Rehearsal number, when we get a proper view of those legs.

Dan Dailey was a fabulous dancer. He was of the generation of actors who could dance, act, sing, everything. Great talent.

Mitsuko didn't know a word of English, and at the age of 14 learned the sounds well enough to sing in a film singing with major stars. That's pretty amazing. She died quite young at the age of 66 due to a heart attack. RIP.
