Many times God's questions are to elicit a response. Here with Satan (God already knew), you referenced God with Adam/Eve... how about Jesus when He asked, "who touched me?"

I used to read these stories to my kids when they were very young and my youngest one was five and it wasn't too long after I had read him this story which I read them most of them out of the adult Bible and after Elijah and the soldiers kept coming and the power of God, what he did for Elijah and to the soldiers. My son at 5:00 believed and knew who God was and it was between Thanksgiving and Christmas and they had foretold in the forecast that there would be no snow for chrisos and they were going to school still and my son went outside that night. It was early about 5:00 at night and he looks up to heaven and he raises his hands up and he prays to God for snow and he comes back in the house and he tells me we're going to have snow mom. I prayed and Jesus is going to send us some snow and I said boy you'd better not have. I don't like snow and he giggled and went off to play and he'd went to sleep. I woke up at 4:00 in the morning because I had to be to work by 5:00. I opened my back door. We had a two and a half ft blizzard and I went downstairs. I woke up my 5-year-old and I made him get out of bed and I said boy you are in big trouble and I walked him up the steps and took him in his boxer shorts and t-shirt out onto the back deck and his eyes got wide and I said the next time you asked Jesus for snow. Could you please tell him that I need to get to work now that school is canceled today you and your brother have to put your shoes on and your coat and shovel out the driveway and the alley so I can get out for work. He was so happy he was praising Jesus and jumping up and down and ran in the house to tell his brother that Jesus sent him Snow and I will never forget it
