Leyk It Or Love It
Spain
Приєднався 16 гру 2024
Face to face with Christian Leyk, a curious professional dreamer and playful creative. Busy designing yachts (or just about anything else when an idea pops up in his head), exploring the world around him through photography or simply discovering new creative outlets. Follow him down the rabbit hole as he shares the design process or wrestles wild new ideas (and the odd 3D model). If you’re passionate about dreaming big and connecting to fellow creatives, this place is for you. Or, as the old map makers used to call uncharted territory: Here Be Dragons!
Just What Is Inspiration And Where Does The Designer Find It?
It's this mysterious thing that we all have or are supposed to have and when we don't have it, we desperately need it or we just can't do anything. Some describe it as the kiss from the muse.. but what if your muse is busy or not in the mood, where can you get your inspiration from?

Starting A Yacht Design Project, Head First!

A few words about strategies and methods and some more thoughts that help me when embarking on a new yacht design project... well, a few concepts are certainly universal, so I would apply them to anything creative.
What's This Designer Doing In Valencia?
Переглядів 11014 днів тому
Before diving into things more work related we thought we'd like to introduce you to the city we're based in, Valencia. We'd be more than happy if you come around for a coffee and for having a conversation about design and creativity. This is, however, just a short glimpse and we will elaborate another time and add some more aspects of what we like here and what life is like in Valencia. On a t...

Please follow me as I'm figuring out what I'm actually doing. So I'm a yachtdesigner doing UA-cam.. but what's the niche? Who is this channel for? And why isn't it funny?
Learning New Tricks Keeps The Designer Young

This probably should have been the first video.. where I would introduce myself and explain why I suddenly feel the urge of doing a UA-cam channel. But then there was Christmas and I ended up venturing onto thin ice just like that... bear with me please, eventually it'll all make sense!
Making Some Progress. Mulled Wine Helps!

I'm sure I'm still doing it all wrong, but that's part of the progress, isn't it? Getting familiar with the camera, experimenting with the format, learning everything I need to know about editing. But the first steps into an exciting journey are done. I hope you'll like the story so far..
..And Not A Cringy Motivation Booster Either

I always send my reflections at the end of the year to friends and family. This year I decided I should stop doing so. But then I did.
Great insights!
Admittedly a little bit chaotic :)
Super cool 💯⚓️🙏🏼
Thank you so much!
Are you a photographer? It was great to see Valencia through you eyes! See you at school 😊
Thank you! Photography is just my hobby
Wow🤩🤩, what a beautiful city🎉. Full of art and loooots of delicous food I assume😋😋 ... and full of futuristic (I love Calatrava🥰) and historic aspects on both sides. Thank you for taking us with you on this beautiful city walk❤❤❤
It's a pleasure!
Such a beautiful city.
Thank you!
this model is amazing, if you can post more videos to see how you model yachts that would be great.
I certainly will do that, bit by bit! Thanks for your kind words!
Im just going to rant at you so take whatever you need or ignore it - this is aimed to helpful. This video felt like you are trying to find what this channel is meant to be, all good channels bumble around until they find something that works. The blessing is the season where there are few likes and comments until you can sharpen production, storytelling, and consistency so you are ready for when the algorithm picks you up. Buy a new iPhone, one big light (apperature amaran 200x) + a softbox and light stand, and DJI mic 2 or equivalent. Find a window to be your fill light and a comfy chair, face towards one side meaning 45 degrees to which ever direction you overlay the sketching. Sit down and mentally talk through your process, make little challenges or try to solve an issue realtime, address a client brief, or a challenge brief. Look up Peter Draws or find a casey neistat vlog where he sketches with markers - your goal is to stand on your authority as a designer and ignore any insecurity about being on camera and get reps in video after video. You can pick your niche or goal but the obvious one to me is narrative authority(appeal to authority qualification) on design. A viewer should find your video(your thumbnail grabbed me subject of the video + interesting thing is a potent combo) and find you working on something interesting, they realize you are a designer and if that interests them the value you are providing via sharing your expertise and process will make them stay and watch. Never be afraid to give away your secret sauce(at least 90%) because if your goal is to build an audience that leads to work/networking/word of mouth you have to just captivate people with your process and work. Good luck!
Great first attempt👍. Lyked it. Keep posting great stuff
Thank you so much... I guess I will... just to find out if it gets easier!
Happy New Year Christian!!! I wish you all the best in 2025! Good luck with your new youtube channel. Looking forward on your future videos!

Well done for being in front of the camera. I can’t wait to see what next year’s Christmas video will be like after your year of practise. Merry Christmas!
I promise I will practice a lot... and post a few things on the way, too.
