I was 15 rows up on the very sideline and yard line the second injury happened on. Everyone in my section starting crying immediately. It was horrific. I still haven't rewatched the video. I looked away when they started showing the highlight. I don't need need to see again. Just hearing him talk about it, brings tears to my eyes.

This was so beautiful the way he fully articulated every aspect of his journey in hindsight. Reliving and visiting those dark moments can be traumatic without properly healing but I’m greatful to hear this brothers testimony and see him still standing 🙏🏽 Godspeed Legend.

Dude was a beast in college at LSU and played both football and baseball winning the 2007 BCS National Title as a WR and making a college World Series and winning the Most Outstanding Player award in 2009. He was drafted in the first round to the White Sox. Although his MLB career never panned out, he is now an analyst for the SEC Network.

Reading the paper was what we all did in those days to look at our own stats and others. Growing up in central pa, and being a year behind Shady, I will never ever forget reading the paper that Sunday morning and seeing that he broke his ankle against Harrisburg. It was devastating. I don’t think people understand how dominant of a player he was in high school unless you’re from this area.
