Hello, My name is Timothy Hawkins, formerly of Arrowhead Lofts EAST. In Honor of my late best friend, Asbury "Bubby" Hopewell, I changed my loft name to Shock Trauma Lofts. In the game of Racing Pigeons, there are MANY ways "to skin a cat". My methods might be a little different than most common thinking in this sport, but it works for me. WE WON THE RACE!!
Yep that correct!! We won the 3rd race of the season and my 3rd race here in the PNW!!! Congrats to Paul Dutra winning the first 5 places in the combine!!!!

After being killed by the hawk, I went from 24 yb's to 6. Lost 12 to Hawkins before I even took them away from the house!!

@@christopheryoder435 hey good question. It’s a bird that is used when the race birds return from the race. A lot of people use fancy pigeon because they don’t fly far. Teach them to go straight to the landing board and as the race birds return you release it bird and as it flies to the loft it draws the race bird in.

Hey bro, how cold does it get where you live? Is the metal mesh in the nesting box fine in winter
@@djZur2 it gets down to freezing and them some. We get mostly ice, more than snow. And if you mean the best box front bot being a solid piece, yes they are able to keep the babies and eggs warm enough

Hey bro I’ve tried it that way but now i use a spray bottle with some water and Sevin now i save even more plus the water allows the Sevin to stick to the feathers. Good goin on the birds

What kind of feeds do you use
@@normanaquino305 I buy my feed through chewy. Versele-laga brand. During breeding I use start plus and add a bag of safflower. During racing I feed their energy mix with barly added

Congrats bro! I see you guys fly a south course now.. What happened to the Oregon Trail Combine? There used to be like 4 clubs around the Portland Metro area.. Mt Hood Invitational Club (Portland), Whiskey Hill Club (Woodburn) Tri-Counties club (Hillsboro) etc. 🤔
@@ausfuhrpramienjagar it’s about 4 clubs in total in this area. Wish they would all fly together and form a federation but was told it’s bad blood between the clubs so will never happen
@@Shocktraumalofts .. Oh wow! That ain't good.. There was a combine like I said.. Oregon Trail Combine with about 800 - 900 birds released on race day.. Pretty sad.

Motivation is a lot of work. champion birds are easy. Winners I believe is a personality trait. Yeah all the body features are important but at the end of the day they have to have their own motivation to come home. Still good placing tho congrats
So true. I have seen birds that a lot of people would have culled because “it was long in the keel”, “open vents”, etc. the ONLY way to know how good your birds are is the basket and your right champions I don’t believe need as much work. If it’s in them, it’s in them! Thanks for the comment!
