I love how she mentions that Stevie Nicks is a 'White Witch'. It seems the closest and most purest form of magic in AHS coven is benevolence and the 'ethereal' mentioned in Apocalypse. Even though Misty and the others suffered in Coven, I think it's also a commentary on how modern religion is unwilling to accept the reality of divine miracles. Even though they are 'witches', in those days of the Bible, even Jesus was called a demon, witch or warlock, and all sorts, and he had the power to raise the dead. In a likewise manner, Misty was burned at the stake, meanwhile living an innocent life of defending nature; shown how she protected the alligators in the swamps and uses natural medicines like native indigenous peoples. I do not believe Misty Day would be trapped in hell like most characters. Madison was, full of problems in her spiritual life, but Misty's commitment to life and the positive aspects of magic in Coven and Apocalypse in spite of perilous circumstances don't make me believe that she's damned, because by the logic of religious leaders of the past; so would Jesus who is mentioned in Apocalypse. I think the only reason why Misty remains mysterious in the series is because of her innocence like Nan. Even though Nan agreed to become a Warden for Papa Legba, the fates of 'witches' are based more off the intentions of the heart; rather than the actual practice of 'witchcraft'. This is why coven is one of my favourite seasons. For millennia, churches and religious groups have refused to accept their 'prayers' as a form of magic. That great deception; I've known since I was 12 and started exploring alternative spirituality. I have a lot of respect for Misty and would love to see Coven rebooted in the alternate timeline of Apocalypse in the future despite how unlikely this is.
