I have the same story, and coil machines taught me a lot of technical nuances. However, I can’t say that if wireless tattoo pens had been available when I was starting in the tattoo industry, I would still have chosen a coil machine. Despite certain advantages, I consider coil machines to be morally outdated.

Yes, the side done with the fixed-stroke machine was completed using just one stroke length (4.5). To be honest, I only use this stroke consistently on the XNET Sita

@@dattootattoo thank you - I asked because I'm considering a new machine fold pro or a single stroke the solider max @ 4.0 stroke. I think I'm going to go with the solider (mostly for the disposable grips) and the 4.0 stroke is a good hard hitter but with a soft hand could probably be great for shading too. I've always been taught you NEED a soft 3.5 or lower stroke to shade.

As you can see from this video, it’s not absolutely necessary to use low-stroke machines for creating soft shading. In fact, I consider a 4.0 stroke to be the optimal choice if you plan to do everything with one machine.

To this day, I work with the Xnet Sita at a 4.5 stroke, and so far, I haven’t found a better budget friendly machine. 100%. This is a good tactic: at least with replicas of expensive machines you can check the ergonomics, weight, try it in action and then decide whether it is worth buying the original. With this tactic I later bought a Cheyenne, Bishop,Lithuanian Irons etc tattoo machines.
