Ahhh. Yes that’s an important video to do thanks. I will but I’m not able to shoot videos for a while. I suggest you take the heal of the stitch to do an Increase take the edge stitch and transfer it over to create an empty needle space. Then take the heal of the adjacent stitch and put into empty needle. If it is tight. Take a length of yarn and create a knitted stitch there with that heal. The. Wind over edge stitches if not in use. Experiment with this idea to find the answer xx Hope that helps.

The gap is normally controlled by the machines. There is a piece of metal that prevents it getting too tight. And if not married up to that then it’s too loose

No it’s not heavy. It’s just not good for knitting machines I believe it is the residue it leaves that builds up in the machine.

Hi. Hmm. Have you used a piece of cord to pull the clip back that goes into the teeth of the cog?? Then you push down. It is tricky. But it should do if.

@@scarletpeate All done, thank you. I hadn’t realised that the plate under the tension dial moves! Once I put it closer to the centre, it went straight in. However, when I turn the tension dial it no longer makes a clicking sound, although the plates on the underside do move, so I am able to use it. I suspect it is the cogs on the dial which are worn down. I shall look for someone who sells new spares. Thanks again.

Please check you have the sinker plate seated correctly and carriage on in correct place. All thumb screws tight etc.

It's stuck, breaking needles when forced to move.

@mwiingamaila9349 hmm ok. Are the drum sable to turn. If not that’s the starting point. If you can press the release lever it should lift up workings of carriage and move across

It's the lace carriage which has given me problems and not the main carriage

Will check on the drums soon I knock off

@carolblackler9386 if it starts to smoke at all that’s a sign the temperature is too high and it’s burning a little. Welll do e though and next time you will know.

@@scarletpeate what can I use it for? There's only about half a pint. I'm doing the rest slowly all day on the BBQ 😁.

In frying pan in place of oil. Or as the fat in soap making.

@@scarletpeate Well after four trips back to the manufacturer within the space of a year my brand new set up has finally gone to the great knitting circle up in the sky. What a complete waste of money!!! However I was very lucky to get hold of a replacement 901 with the 501 ribber all in very good condition for £20...... could not believe it, alas it's missing the setting screws to attach the ribber back to the main bed!! I've tried my trusted dealer but he doesn't have any so I'm trying to think of a way round it.
