How can I get or buy this full video?

Is the 30 degrees from vertical measurement of the scapula measured along the spine of the scapula or the join of the humerus and the scapula? Is it measured when the dog is stacked in a posed position for the show judges examination? How does this measurement of angulation compare to other breeds?

Thank you so much for teaching this, because I have telling people this to people for so long. I have a Newfoundland who is a 110 LB. Traumatized puller. I actually had a train say to that "we're not traveling horses." We have teacher your dog who is in control. Needless to say. I took the prong collar off of my furbaby and fired him. I remembered having a house with a hard mouth. I am Happy to say that my big furbaby now wears a harness and walks next to me. And I can ride my horse Bareback with nothing but a rope on his neck for me to ask him to left or right.

Beautiful apbt! She has seriously high 'prey drive'. This was exclusively bred into them for 100+ yrs. (In the game bred apbt's.) I channeled my guys drive energy into doing very physical activities like weight pulling, agility etc. Helps to burn up excess energy, to better focus on regular obedience training. Although not classified as such this breed is a incredible 'Working breed'! She is gorgeous! Best wishes to you with her! 🐾😊

Sara, I rescue a sweet insecure 3 year old Newfoundland from a shelter. He's reactive when he sees other dog's, and I understand that the behavior is because of fear. My question about licking. I was in a fence baseball field training him,other dogs were walking around the outside of the field. His anxiety was very high. So I started working our way to the other side of the field. My dog started to licking my hand that was holding the leash

I've read Turid's book on this. I love the way she encourages people to pay attention to dogs and the way they communicate. Love the way she emphasizes understanding, respecting, and working with dogs on this level. It really is the best way. Fantastic, practical trainer.

I visited seven stores today and could not find the type of whistle you and other trainers on UA-cam seem to use. At Dogwise.com I only see one with a training DVD. Can you suggest a source for just the whistle? I have a very well-trained dog but I want to work on an infallible recall using a whistle. Thanks.

Pamela, I have been whistle conditioning for 2 months very carefully. it is so powerful that when my dog is asleep and I v quietly blow the whistle, he jumps up and comes over! ( I tried it by mistake)! BUT if there is a distraction...it still doesn't create the full conditioned reflex.

I'm a professional trainer and use Leslie's techniques extensively for my dogs and my students, in our Rocket Recall class. This stuff works and anyone can do it!!!!

I was taught not to treat with my right hand if I'm walking the dog on my left. I treat with my left hand and hold leash in my right. They are doing just the opposite in this video. The reason is is that the dog will develop a habit of crossing over you to get a treat. I'm surprised to see it taught this way from such a famous and well known trainer as Turid Rugaas.

Apparently, BanMarkMcGwire hasn't heard of Pavlov. The point is to train the dog to almost unconsciously get to the owner when he hears the whistle, because he has been *conditioned* to expect something really good to happen when he gets there. As a trainer, I can tell you that this works, and works well, as does Leslie Nelson's protocol for 'Really Reliable Recall" - so if you have a dog that doesn't come, try both!!!!

I think you're onto something there. At first look I thought that the dogs were Great Pyrnees and disregarded your comment. GPs are pretty big dogs as you know. But I think these are actually Golden Retrievers? In the UK, they would be a bit larger than the ones here in the US. But still, you are right... those dogs look overweight. Ms. O'Driscoll looks a bit on the heavy side herself, and often heavy people have heavy dogs.

Kind of disturbing that someone representing "Canine Health Concern" has what appear to be three *extremely* overweight dogs. It's a shame, because it really detracts from the intended message of the video. :(

I just got this DVD. It is amazing & very easy to follow. Brilliant training!! 5* Recommend for everyone - regardless of skill level. The emergency recall training is vital for all. :-)

Nice to see Dogwise now has a channel. Coincidentally, I just noticed this week that Patricia McConnell is now on UA-cam, also. It certainly took you guys long enough! Once in a while I will search the famous names of dog trainers on here. This morning, I just happened to finish Brenda Aloff's book, "Canine Body Language, A Photographic Guide". Excellent book. I then decided to search her name here on UA-cam. Hopefully Ms. Aloff will join soon, too!
