Is the handle hollow? How is the tang fixed to the handle? It's a beautiful knife but the aesthetic saw teeth are useless so to make the blade more functional the toothy spine should be replaced with a 90% spine for scraping wood & striking fero rods.

There is a simple solution to your problem. sandpaper in different grain sizes. Sand once from coarse to fine. Give it a rough shape, then sand it finely. Then treat with a little glaze or oil. So you can adjust the size yourself. I've done this with similar knives and the results are great.

Good review man, I enjoyed it. Your particular knife with that little bump towards the upper part of the handle (where you index finger sits) seems to be particulary good for locking the knife in place, cool.

Great looking knife but a bit weird using a horn handle knife as a rough survival knife even tho I think the Muela did a good work

Good as it is, the SXB would be hard to deploy in a defensive situation such as a bear or mountain lion attack. Since it is marketed as a fighting knife as well as survival knife, this is worth mentioning. I wouldn't carry it on long treks such as hikes on the AT because of the weight. Buy it but be aware...
