Part Six of our 2024 Big Trip. We travel north from Katherine to Litchfield National Park where we visit Wangi Fall, Florence Falls, Tolmer Falls and Buley Rockhole. From Litchfield we go to Corroboree Billabong in West Arnhem for an exciting and wonderful wildlife cruise. Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory is our next stop.       Welcome! When we purchased our caravan back in 2007, only very large caravans had showers and toilets. We do have a portable toilet and a shower/toilet tent attached to our vehicle.

    Another good video Noelene and David. It brought back memories of swimming with the fresh water crocks at Wangai falls and scores of black fish at Florence falls.

    Dear Dave & Noelene Another interesting video. Unlike you, my son and I, only had a cursory look at the Devil’s Marbles, which I viewed geologically. Yes, the grey nomads are always on the move. Appreciating a location requires a period of stillness. I recall kayaking a section of Katherine Gorge and having a a short swim, the freshwater crocs notwithstanding. Warm regards from B&B

    Great video. How long is the drive from Marree to Coober Pedy? We are hoping to go up there in December

      Well, I suppose it depends on how fast you like driving on roads that can be rough sometimes with wash aways that can catch you out. There’s a lot to see between Marree and William Creek. I normally takes a day to do it with all the stops. From William Creek to Coober Pedy, there are fewer stops of interest. Depending on the road conditions, it takes us four or five hours.

    Another good one David and Nolene. When we were at Uluru years ago it was still ok to climb it. But my left knee told me NO WAY, I would have had to come down backwards. Michael and I went a little way past chicken rock then came back down. Some beautiful country out there, keep up the good work.

    Beautiful scenery and photography. Wilpena pound also had a bush ranger heritage as that is where Captain Starlight and the Marsden brothers used to hide their stolen cattle.

    Thank you for your video. As a teenager i worked in the general store in Hawker and rented the old Hawker Railway station which i can see now is a resturant. The station then was owned by the rifle club. I played cricket for the town of Hawker. I also enjoyed my time there such a beautiful part of Australia.

    Thanks again D&N - The flies and the corrugations were an inconvenience. The churches in Coober Pedy humanised a forbidding environment. The keg grave marker displayed the sense of humour essential to survival. Regards from your friends B&B

    Thank you for the little travelogue of Moonta. I spent 6 very happy years growing up there in the 1960s/early 1970s and (when it is not so windy) Moonta Bay is the place I now go in 2024 for a slice of serenity (and Cornish pasty). 😊

    I ran road trains up to Leigh Creek from Newcastle in the 1990's........great to see the places that were listed on road signs along the main highway, and what was "over the range" visible from cab of a Kenworth. Yes, the mornings are cold in winter, but the days are spectacular and sunny.

    I drove with my girlfriend to Hawker and the Flinders 40 years ago It was a great experience , first time in a plane ( Scenic flight) scary lol diving a v8 Holden HQ , best time ever 👍

We are at Trephina Gorge in the East MacDonnell Ranges as part of a long trip to Darwin and then east to Queensland. Where we go, we don’t know but there are lots of roads to follow and lots of places to visit.
