Things I Can See (Game 2) 4:00 - Good challenge, good positioning. 4:10 - Good follow-up, poor decision-making on the challenge. 4:15 - Rotation in the wrong direction for the play. 4:20 - Positioning is decent (it would’ve been better to be further back relative to your teammate and less centered on the field, but good awareness overall). 4:28 - Well-handled challenge (maybe the last jump wasn’t ideal, but your recovery was good, so no major issue). 4:42 - Well-handled challenge. 4:55 - The start of the challenge was handled well, but poor decision-making at the end. (The touch was too perfect; in a 2v1 situation, a faster-paced play and a more forceful touch to give your teammate an advantage would have been better rather than trying to score directly). Good follow-up at the end. 5:13 - Good positioning. 5:17 - Good boost grab, but poor challenge management. This could have had more serious consequences. Your opponent was at a disadvantage, but by playing into their pinch attempt, you helped relieve the pressure you and your teammate had been applying. A bit more patience here to take a safer wall touch would have been better. 6:01 - Good challenge management at first, but you wasted 30 boost on hesitation. Your teammate seemed unsure of your intentions, leading to collective hesitation, haha. 6:10 - The clear wasn’t great but not terrible either. It gave you some time to reset. 6:16 - Very good positioning. Keep this up! 6:24 - Big mistake here. Poor challenge management, poor awareness, and bad boost management. (It’s okay to get surprised by an opponent, it happens, but when you turned, you should have toggled off your ball cam to locate your teammate. You would’ve seen that they were facing the play and better positioned for the challenge, allowing you to rotate behind them. Instead, you started with 100 boost, lost the challenge, lost track of your teammate, double-committed, ended up with 20 boost, and too far from the goal to make a save. Your mistakes on the initial challenge likely cost your team a goal here). 6:47 - Perhaps too far from the play, giving your opponent space to act. When they missed, it caught you off guard, though you recovered well in the last challenge. It could have been handled better. (Again, you started with 100 boost and ended with 50 despite doing very little. You even picked up a small pad and a big boost along the way, meaning the waste is even greater. A simple half-flip toward the ball when your opponent missed would’ve sufficed). 7:01 - Very well done. 7:13 - Exceptionally well played, better than I would’ve done. Your use of the joystick to check your teammate’s position and deciding to shoot directly rather than hitting the backboard was a great decision. 7:31 - Good awareness and decision-making. With a bit more mechanical comfort, you would’ve scored, which is exactly what we want. Just be mindful of risky jumps-coming off the backboard like that for a 50/50 could have put you at a disadvantage. 7:33 - Poorly handled challenge, unfortunately. You should have remembered the information that both opponents were low on boost during the previous challenge and accelerated to outspeed them. This challenge should have been won, but you lost by taking too much distance (likely to give yourself a striking opportunity, but I’m not sure). 7:44 - Good recovery. Unfortunately, at the end, your small touch should’ve been advantageous, but it brought the ball back to the center instead. 7:53 - Very well-handled challenges, but a poor choice at the end. You ball-chased after already disrupting enough. A backpost rotation here was necessary. You shouldn’t have jumped for that last ball, and the final challenge could’ve turned out worse. 8:04 - Poor rotation in the direction of the play, with no small pad pickups to reposition properly. The bump attempt was a good idea, but here you should’ve rotated back behind your teammate, picking up small pads to quickly reach supersonic speed. This was a 2v1 situation where you could have easily supported your team. 8:14 - Your choice to grab the big boost cost you a goal. Although you own-goaled, it’s mainly because your opponent missed their shot; otherwise, it would’ve been an easy goal for them. The real error was not analyzing the results of your challenges. You literally made a pass to the midfield, saw your opponent flying past you, and knew your teammate was in a 2v1. Since you were already late, you should have immediately turned, picked up a small pad, and used your boost + a front flip to reach supersonic speed and return faster. 8:30 - A bit dangerous, but well played. You created space on the opposite side by absorbing the pressure. 8:41 - Risky boost grab. If the opponents hadn’t gotten in each other’s way, they would’ve outspeeded you. You didn’t need 100 boost for this play; small pads would’ve been enough. 8:44 - Haha, you trusted your teammate a lot to turn like that! 9:01 - Good tempo control. Your teammate was far, so taking your time was the right call. The final 50/50 was a bit chaotic, but no big deal. 9:11 - Too close to the play for the level of danger. Here, your teammate is in a 2v1, and you should’ve stayed at the back post.
