I received the EggNogs kit from @halibutelectronics. This kit was a great build and should make it easy for me to get a good downlink from the amateur satellites. The documentation on this is great and easy to follow. You can get your kit at electronics.halibut.com/product/eggnogs/ Stay tuned for part 2 when I add the elements and put it on a mast. For building this kit I used my Ryobi Hybrid s...

Did KD9OLN really throw me out of an airplane?
I didn't see or hear reference to using the OSL calibration standards. Are you not using them for calibration? Are you using them in the appropriate output port? Thanks for the video.
the calibration standards are surface mounted on the board. Thanks for watching
@@KO4AFL that's confusing because in the quick start guide that came with the test rig...it states calibrate with the OSL standards
@@larryoob8754 do you have version 3.1? If so maybe @halibutelectronics will update the quick start guide
@@KO4AFL yep.... I have 3.1, but the user guide is 3.0...... I'll download the new version.... thanks
Much more clearer.. Thanks !!
Glad it helped!
Great video Steve bro 73
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you do a video of Calibrating your VNA with the KIT? Would love a visual on the process and setting of the switch’s has you go through the calibration.
Ordered one yesterday. 73 Per HB9GIM
I have one of these, it's a very useful piece of kit and it really does show up some performance differences between different styles of choke at different frequencies
Caught, I have The Clubhouse on live on my laptop in the background.
Thanks for watching
Sorry..... not really useful a a tutorial . Show the calibration process with the rig without using the cal lugs.
Yes, step-by-step, show the connections, the beginning position of the switches, and any changes you make to the switches during the calibration as well as the test.
I can do that. Reading up more on the nanovna but will record a better calibration video.
@@KO4AFL That would be great and much appreciated
@@KO4AFL I will be anxiously awaiting your update. Hopefully I can also catch up with Halibut at Orlando too..
Here is the updated video. The calibration lugs are built into the board on version 3.1 ua-cam.com/video/7j9HIEM7cFM/v-deo.html
That's a nice case. Happy New Year!
Thanks! Happy New Year to you as well.
awe no, he read the instructions..-10points from the man card😂
I didn't actually read them. But I had seen other videos where they did
@KO4AFL ok forgiven
Steve, Could you have accomplished the same thing by just "Y-ing" the existing cable at radio end? This would provide a single cable running from the desk top to the pedals and then providing separate plugs at each end of the "Y" for each radio. Thoughts???
That is possible but I think it would key both radios as initially the pedals were connected in a way either pedal would have activated the radio. I may have been able to use the third wire if it hadn't been cut so close inside. Then split it on the desktop.
@@KO4AFL Steve, OK I get it. I did not realize the original wiring had the pedals working in parallel, but I did notice that short third wire inside. Cool approach!
I just got mine in the mail. Probably put it together this weekend. Thanks for the video! 73
Great choice, you'll be very happy with it.
I'm just getting into sats and this is great to help me get started with my 5100. Many thanks!
Glad I could help! Keep an eye out for an upcoming project on tracking the satellites
Awesome
I just got a icom 5100, how did you program this/ what are you settings for the iss
@danciavolella I will do a video on the programming and how i worked the ISS repeater. I should have it out this weekend.

@@KO4AFL Thanks! 73’s
Nice setup. Once again you've made one of the greatest videos ever! This ranks up there with the cat playing the piano video. I would expect nothing less from a clubhouse member. I'm impressed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Steve! Nice video. Did he say, "free youtube sat" at 0:22? What's that mean? See you out there. 73 de Bill
The musical side of K8MRD. Need to hear more in his natural habitat.
Thanks Steve! Nice video.
Tom, thanks for watching. I'm going to put this in place on my motorcycle.
Nice build!
Thanks Mike, it's easy to follow directions.
Not sure how I missed this video. Awesome job Steve and Carlos! Can't wait for my jump next week.
Have fun! Can't wait to see your jump
Nice video, Steve! See you out (up) there. 73 de Bill
Thanks Bill. Need to get it on the roof soon
Thanks for doing this video. Running WSJTX on the remote is something I've been thinking of doing, and I haven't sat down to figure it out. I'll follow your lead and use the TCP Streamer.
I found another remote admin that explained why we need to use tcp streamer or something else and I tried without with the monitor on and found him to be correct
Are you planning on awapping out the atarter cap in the controller?
I hadn't thought about that. I do have the rotor-ez in the controller so i can control it remotely.
Great work Steve! 73!
Can't wait to see how it does.
Nice job…..I don’t care what K5YVY says 😉
What radio are you going to use?
It's going to be connected to my icom 9700
Mark is a wicked smart guy. Thanks for posting a video Steve!
Couldn't agree more! Love his stuff. Have a couple more kits to build from him.
Carlos has a bigger knife.
NICE!!!!!
Thanks!!
You're lucky, just think of the number of UA-camrs that could use that comb, lol.
It may have gone to one with a beard
I like it but would absolutely be disappointed with the ht because I already own one but cool MB
Liked commented and subscribed 👍
You could always sell it or gift it to a new ham 😉
@@jamesknotts1546 Always shied away from mystery boxes. Afraid I'd get stuck with some TV wall mounts.
Partner in crime for sure!
Good stuff. I may have to pick up some of his stuff...any idea when the eGGNOGS stuff will be available?
They are available now electronics.halibut.com/product/eggnogs/
@@KO4AFL Thanks. The link from his YT page didn't show the EGGNOGS stuff.
That would be cool for sstv from the ISS.
Yes I'm thinking of starting as a receive antenna
Evening Steve, thanks for the email! Working on ideas for the shirt.
So glad to meet you this weekend at HH. I’m all in and putting the work it. Thanks for everything and look forward to getting to know the whole crew and soak as much in as I can .
It was great to meet you as well. Hopefully we can get you a bunch of new subs.
@@KO4AFL Totally interested in the clubhouse show.
So fun! :D
yes always a fun time. Glad we got to hang out again.
Looks really nice there. :) Glad you had a great time!
it is great. I need to remember to do a campsite walk next year.
Those are pretty swanky campsites.
The campsites are awesome. Some are now paved.
Looking for info ?? saw a tank video of you activating satellite .... what is the bag you are using / looks as if it would fit the bill for my use and more comfortable than the lil; over shoulder bag I'm using now
That setup is my satellite bag. But for that one we were actually trying to get @LifeAtTerminalVelocity he was doing a parachute mobile jump from Skydive Alabama. I will work on recording a video on that bag this week along with a couple of videos from Huntsville
@@KO4AFL please make sure to give make and model of bag ... ill be looking forward to seeing it ... thank you
Hello I would need a new chain for this rotor the same as yours! 73s friend can you help me find it!
not sure what you mean by new chain. if you are looking for the ball bearings i found them on ebay if you need the holder i would reach out to MFJ while they are still in business.
Very cool!
Thanks plasma. We still have some work to do on it.
Awesome trailer! Thanks for showing it to us.
Oh wow, thanks for the great demonstration and recommendation for the Halibut Electronics stuff! I couldn’t have sold it better myself. :-) (I’m the guy who runs halibut electronics.)
It's one of my favorite items in the trailer. If you have a keen eye you may have seen a halibut logo in the trailer
@@KO4AFL I did notice the sticker/magnet on the .. inverter? The box on the wall as you walk in the front door. 🙂
@@SmittyHalibut it is the magnet on the breaker box. I need to get some large logos for the company's that helped and put them on the back door
I need to take notes on your setup you installed there.
Great setup and I approve of your security locks. :) A chain and a padlock through a wheel and leaf spring with a good Medeco padlock or similar would be a great addition too.👍 Love it.
Dang, that looks sweet. I want one. :)
Sweet trailers!
