Handling Sensitive Investigations Webinar
There are things that I would like police to concentrate on. Respect for constitutional rights, changes in police training that reflect the true dangers that police officers face (officer safety). The reality is that current training exaggerates the danger police face, resulting in police treating every citizen as a danger. The fact is that among all occupations police work isn't nearly as dangerous as their training indicates. An example, garbage collectors are almost twice as likely to die on the job than a police officer, an airline pilot even more deadly than being a police officer. Currently police use "officer safety" to justify almost any action. Police lying to the public may help catch a few criminals but destroy the trust the public should have in police. Another major issue. Misbehavior by police officers being investigated by police themselves. We all see terrible police behavior on the internet, yet time after time police find no issue with that behavior. There needs to be a separate organization investigate citizen complaints against officers.
HAHA HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR FEMALE OFFICERS ON UA-cam?? THEY ARE AN EMOTIONAL DISGRACE AND A DANGER TO NATIONAL SECURITY
Your videos are very good and your editing skills are excellent, but your videos are not reaching many people. The main reason for this is that your videos are not SEO optimized. I am a UA-cam video SEO expert and would like to optimize your videos. Are you interested in this?
Sasha Larkin is a bad azz!!!!!!!!! We love her
Jim Burch you should be talking about state and government corruption. Government corruption is the largest and fastest growing crime network in the country.
DEI has totally infiltrated policing and endangered the safety of every American life!

Hi how are you
p̷r̷o̷m̷o̷s̷m̷
A sickness. You? Yes, your lust for voilence would destroy you. Hear my warning. You asked the people not film you. Yet, you refuse to stop profiling, hunting, beating, killing, & stealing from freedoms & property from black & brown people. I do not speak as a black man, I speak as a man of God & God is my protector. Trust me, you do not want to test whether that is a lie or not, ask the local pd. God see everything you have done & that includes the people who refuse to end corruption in our national policing. Judgement would be upon you regardless if you profiled, hunt, beat, killed, or stolen a person's freedom or property or not. If you witnessed it & did nothing? You are guilty. Yet, I am not the Judge. God told me that directly & I am not judging but from what I has sensed & experienced in my life. If you want our respect, then show yourselves respectable & clean out your departments with them "poison apples". But you won't, want you? Because most of you, at the top, are the vets of this system? Prove me wrong? ua-cam.com/video/aYU3wjMP_XQ/v-deo.html

Great Again now
The foundation of police corruption is their constant use of lies. The police tell lies as easily and often as normal humans breathe. Until the police hold themselves to the same strict and merciless standards they demand from civilians the cops are nothing but a gang of armed goons & thieves. You can't be a little bit corrupt.
Discussion of "police culture" featuring: 1. An academic 2. An attorney 3. A chief Gosh I wonder why we're having such a hard time understanding and communicating with line officers....
Wow the chief hates unions, what an unbelievable surprise. I can hardly believe it. And he doesn't want his units to get along too well with each other. Golly gosh. Wow. I'm sure this chief really has the welfare of his cops in mind, ever.
Mildly surprisingly I find the academic the most reasonable person here, although it's sad that someone had to do research to see what should be pretty common sense: demographics don't matter a whole lot, but working a violent area with a high call volume chews you up. No kidding. But having quantitative data can be very helpful.
Thank you for watching! Please submit questions or comments for the speakers directly in the comments section!
Thanks it was a great program Police training is a difficult topic, it may work better at a local level instead of other levels due to environmental differences, people’s behaviors and community needs Defunding police will only hurt communities and police personnel and departments
Thank you for watching!
De escalation techniques are intended to work after the behavior occurs meaning when the person is already acting out with worse behaviors De escalation is a reactive strategy As proactive strategy if you know the precursor behaviors that means behaviors that announce more severe behaviors are happening then you can intervene That is at the yellow zone Once a person escalated is on red zone becomes more difficult and at that time safety procedures will be most important Police officers needs to control own behaviors when those yellow zone behaviors appear If is not returning to base line then definitely providing back up people for help is a must also with training to deescalate when behaviors are in red zone

Bless you for posting this. But there seems to be what sounds like police radio in the background of the audio. It's very annoying to the listener. Maybe you can edit that out?
Hi, thank you for watching and thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, the audio issue at the beginning was due to unmuted mics, but we were able to resolve it quickly for the remainder of the episode. Please let us know if you need material or clarification on anything covered at the beginning.
The reason why you haven't been able to "change the culture" is due to the systemic lack of transparency and accountability in police disciplinary proceedings. As a former City attorney who successfully represented a major metropolitan police department in federal civil rights cases for ten years leaving for private practice where I continued my practice of police civil rights cases, which included representing officers, retired-officers and FOP work for one year. I am not a cop-hater but I do want to see them simply do their jobs in a responsible way. Based on my experience, you can change the culture if you can rid your organization of "bad apples." Of course, this also brings into question the strength that police unions have developed over the years to intimidate local legislators from making progress in this area. Internal Affairs, while at times successful, is an abject failure. The police cannot police themselves. We have to come up with a solid disciplinary and prosecutorial framework for addressing police corruption and the violation of civil rights.
Oh shocker, an attorney thinks that what's really important is that we need more sitting in judgement of cops. You know, it couldn't possibly help to acknowledge that officers are human beings responding to emergent situations with incomplete and imperfect information. Just hurt the cops enough and that'll magically fix everything. Great.
@@marlowemuffingrab How many people would be convicted of crimes if their friends and coworkers were allowed to decide guilt or innocence and determine the punishment? The police are afforded this power and it has been totally corrupted. I just read where an Ohio cop caught soliciting prostitutes while on duty and falsifying police reports was just given his job back by a police union arbiter. Does that sound to you like cops hold themselves to a higher standard?
Shame on families that produce these evil, narcissistic, jackboot thugs, whom do little more than serve & protect a living salary for themselves, while victimizing harmless citizens, daily. War on drugs only makes everything worse. ua-cam.com/play/PLAUsZMHra-OF9Ts8tqOkfaWBiId-M8D8J.html
