The purpose of this video is for people considering refractive surgery and what they can realistically expect if they're unlucky getting complications after the surgery. RELEX SMILE - DESTROYED MY EYES
Переглядів 19 тис.6 років тому
I'm David, 23. From Copenhagen, Denmark. I had SMILE surgery to correct my -0.75 small amount of myopia 1. August 2017. Before the surgery I had perfectly healthy eyes besides the small myopia. Now I suffer from numerous of complications due the surgery and have no way to go back. Keep in mind I'm still considered a "success" where I had it done. Even with all these vision disturbances. I hope ...
Underwent SMILE yesterday , and my vision started improving from yesterday itself , and it’s a lot better right now , it was the best decision I made , there is no pain or itching except for a couple of hours after surgery . It will take about 2-3 weeks for a full 6/6 vision . Not everyone can undergo SMILE / LASIK , only those who have power up to -8D ,normal retina , corneal thickness and corneal topography are eligible for it . Those who have thinner cornea are prescribed IPCL
Hey, how long it took to get the nearsight back
How are you doing now?
Can I reach out to you somehow? Would like to talk to you about your complications...
Had SMILE about 4 months ago and I love the results. I'm still experiencing some dry eye, mostly in the morning, but I'll be using drops and doing warm compresses and hopefully the dryness will go away. Even if it doesn't I wouldn't go back. I love seeing clearly without glasses or contacts. It's a miracle.
How long it took to get nearsight back?
I had SMILE, no dry eyes (incision was made from top, underneath eyelid), no pain. I see absolutely perfect outside daytime, good night time just a little bit of starburst with car lights. Indoors lowlight is fine, but Indoors with bright artificial lights is where I have issues / signs look a bit blurry from afar / grocery stores.
I felt the pain god bless you
How are you now buddy? Also a lasik complication
How are you doing now? Could you solve some of your problems?
sorry for what happened brother. i wish you much better and quicker recovery.
My man checked every box for what could go wrong. Sadly you are 1% of the 1% of patients that get these results. You had an inexperienced/incompetent doctor who didn't assess your situation and did you wrong. I hope you can sue them to the ground, but fearmongering the surgery itself is unwarranted.
READ MY LIPS glasses are the way, they're cheap, reliable and stylish, not to mention they protect your vision from dust and other flying trash.
What is the update bro ? It's been 4 years now
Start making videos again. The truth needs to be heard.
PRK is safer
Seriously !
Relex SMILE 🙄 is promoted as being the new great thing in laser eye surgery but it ruins patients eyes & lives just like all the other types & they're Russian Roulette anywhere. Detroit Fox news weather presenter Jessica Starr committed suicide shortly after having this surgery! ALL damaged patients are just acceptable casualties to the surgeons who perform these ops & virtually all of them wear glasses because they won't take the risk of their careers being instantly finished if they had ops and got problems but they're quite happy to profit from all those whose eyes and lives they ruin! 😡
ALL types of unregulated laser & other refractive eye surgeries (lens replacement & Implantable Contact Lens) are massively more risky than anyone is told prior, and NO SURGEON in the world can fix serious complications & I've found this out the hard way! 😡 USA FOX DETROIT weather presenter Jessica Starr committed suicide shortly after having had 'SMILE' 🙄 with this being touted as the next great advance in laser eye surgery but it damages patients just like all the other types & ALL of them are just acceptable casualties to the surgeons & industry involved in profiting so much from these ops! 🤬
How are your eyes now?
I regretting for not watching your video before my smile surgery 😢, Now 1yr after smile surgery, i have same problems u have, also i have vision issues in all distances, its was my worst decision in my life Doctors also suggested another surgery for me, its most risker, even most safe smile surgery cause this kind of worst complications means then that second surgery will ruin my life, Corporate hospitals doing this surgery for sake of money😢
Did they measure your dilated pupils before procedure ?
Where u did your surgery? How much u paid? Thanks
How are you today? An Update would be really nice. @MaterLacrymarum·7个月前(修改过) You posted a video saying you were offered money to not post, and that you turned it down -but it's your last post.
Possibly got payed to stop posting
Hey Brother How you Doing now Try laserfit company
What is your current situation now...
you really had just -0,75 thats crazy thats nothing, i have -5.00; every year i want to make the operation lasik, but then i research in the internet and i get scared, i will probably never do it,
Im -6 , the worse your eyes are the more tissue they destroy. Not worth rolling the dice, Im thankful for the vision I have, or lack there of.
I had -9 with a -3.75 astigmatism. They were only able to correct +6 and +3 astigmatism. So my remaning prescription is a 3 and a 0.75 astigmatism. I can see 20/30-20/40 vision. I see the halos and I do get dry eyes still. (Only 1 month has gone by) 2 weeks ago during my monthly evaluation my eyes had gotten worse significantly. So much so my prescription was now a +6 instead of a +3. But now since then it’s gotten better again. But for me it’s stress. I work full time. It’s no issue what’s so ever for that. I work 50-60+ hours a week though with very little sleep which is most likely why my eyes vision flucates so much. I do not regret this surgery at all. I don’t care if my vision isn’t 20/20 or better. All I care about is no longer needing to rely on wearing glasses my entire life just go do a simple task like grabbing something from a fridge. A +9 prescription with a +3.75 astigmatism is really bad. Doctors were surprised on how good my vision actually turned out bc of how high my prescription was. I can legally drive without glasses now. Now also, I knew about all the side effects. Symptoms etc. they gave me paperwork to sign and read through and it listed out every single symptom and side effect that might happen after surgery. It was specifically for people with partial correct I went with it bc I’ve been wearing glasses for almost 18 years. And new glasses would cost me $600-$800 each time just bc of the prescription. Worth every penny I spent. Place I went to “LasikPlus”
20 000 at least
i heard blue eyes not very good with eye laser surgery is that true?
i had smile on monday, no light sensitivity or any side effects, night vison got better than with my glasses. best decision ever, paid 5500 euro, but with the best laser and best doctor in my region. its only the first days and it also gets better day to day. first day was like looking through a milk glass that getting thinner every hour. day after surgery milk glass was gone and only near vision wasnt that good but now a few days after it got well. my floaters are gone since the operation. one thing could be better, its the sharpness sometimes, but this got also better every day now, so few month and it will be perfect
So happy for you, man! SMILE is supposed to be a safer alternative to LASIK
Good doctor, good selection of the candidates for procedure and good preparation definitely the result will be great !!
How are you now
@@Barb766 hey, i am fine, its all really good and i only have a minor issue. some days , especially on hot sommer days, there is a little bit too much light( but only in pools, which reflect the light even more) so i take sunglasses and all is good, not that i would need them, but its just for some moments where its too much.
@@alexanderpeter1703 u means u are sensitive to light ..? Hey what’s you opinion on LASIK OR PRK ..how’s the result there in your region do u know Someone in your family/friends who have done this surgery.. I live in Pakistan and here the smile is not that kuch popular compare to other places ..
Exactly like that, everytime i go for checkup they document as 6/6, they don't document i am able to see that clearly or not 7:37
Still if i search about smile surgery, UA-cam search shows only positive videos, dont show these kind of videos, its very sad i also entered the same world, regretting lot for doing smile surgery
Same here bro. Are you from india
@@asingh8126 yes
@muthu8304 bro please update your current situation, I also go through lasik .wrost decision ever
it's been 3 years since you uploaded this video. are you ok?
How are you today? An Update would be really nice.
And what do they think is expected? Is it normal according to them to have the vision destroyed?! This is crazy. I'm so sorry for you. I hope your vision gets better. This surgery is a joke.
You posted a video saying you were offered money to not post, and that you turned it down - but it's your last post. 😀
After 20 years of starbursts i dont even see them anymore even though theyre still there
Did you ever find something that helped your abberations?
He hasn't posted a video in 2 years. He probably just got used to it
Hope you are ok now.
Hello . Unfortunately, I had the Rolex Smile operation two years ago, and it was not successful. I have exactly the same symptoms that I experienced. I wish you from my heart a speedy recovery. I will follow you to see your health condition as a motivation for me to cling to hope for treatment. I wish I had seen this video before the operation, but this is God’s will. I advise people not to do this operation.mehdi from Morocco
كيف انت الان هل ندمت على اجراء العملية.
I hope your eyes have gotten better now? You have such beautiful eyes, it breaks my heart to watch your videos.
Pay so much money just to get your eyes fucked up
I am sorry about your many problems. I also have floaters and am trying the treatment in a natural way (with bromelina) and would recommend you reading about it. About the halo, I also had for a while and with time it disappeared naturallly, that‘s why I would leave a surgery only as a last resource. Wish you good luck. 🍀
How much your floaters now?
@@CSe_IT_Guy They reached a point that I don't even notice they exist anymore. They do not disturb me anymore.🎉
@@stela_solar wow congratulations 🎉
@@stela_solar does pineapple work?
@@CSe_IT_Guy It quite seems to have helped me, but I cannot affirm it categorically, as I was trying many things concomitantly.
You described the issues I have almost exactly. I got Lasik rather than Smile and have all the same issues. Truly hellish surgeries. I know how hard it is, wishing you all the best in the future.
Is not about lasik and smile, all refractive surgeries can cause these complications 😢
@@K00711 U r right; from mechanical view point it is a bast a rd operatio grinding your tissues and nerves and expecting it will heal with good focuses hahahhh;;; Primitive Stone Age huhuhh SURGEON kidding the publlc BJ @20K/day using R-kinematic
Great decision.
This could have been avoided with a treatment like Contoura PRK where my treatment area was 9mm… also having smaller pupils help. Thankfully my doctor said I have small pupils. PRK is also less likely to have chronic dry eyes when compared to LASIK. Apparently SMILE is good for dry eyes too, but the laser cannot treat as well as the excimer laser used in Lasik and PRK.
Contoura is topography guided only. Topo-integrated wavefront optimised is usually the go to for normal eyes without notable abberations.
Not really. Here I am with wavefront guided PRK and the same exact issues as the author of the video. Your pupils are small, that's the only reason you don't experience these issues.
BULLSHIT!! PRK/LASEK causes chronic dry eyes just like ALL other unregulated refractive eye ops! 😡
I hope you will have recovery and feel better How are you doing now ??
I'm so sorry to hear this, brother. I canceled my LASIK surgery last week after researching what they actually do to your cornea. I hope you can recover.
If you are young you should go for SMILE
@@ThenameisOskar Don't do any surgery on healthy corneas.
@@ThenameisOskar they’re all essentially the same and they all carry the same risks 😮
@@chrisvig123 With SMILE they make a very small incision. With LASIK they make a big incision which can cause an eye trauma. Also the healing process of SMILE is very chill. No pain or whatever. You can do everything again the next day.
@@granadosable Too late. I was nearsighted. Now after the laser treatment my vision is perfect. It has been about 9 months, I’m still happy with it
I did relex smile about 2 months ago and I am not happy with the results. I developed quiet bothersome floaters and afterimages after the surgery. My eyes are now much more sensitive to light and I am much more prone to afterimages. I get the afterimages when I look at any bright source and they are very persistent. Sometimes they remain in my vision for over 5 minutes. I am hoping this is part of the healing process but I doubt it. To me it seems like its going to be a permenant issue. I Also have glare and starbursts especially at night and blurry vision due to my dry eyes. I also have poor contrast sensitivity when I am in doors. I really hope that my eyes are still healing and these problems are temperory.
Hei! Did your vision improve?
No
Hello, so this video is now 2 years old. Have you travelled already to Texas? Did you make or will you soon make a video about the Texas experience and what kind of treatment you will undergo in Texas? Keep us updated !
3000$ its nothing, they are very corupted
thank you so much for warning us! very amazing of you to not accept it and spread the truth. I considered surgery but after research not anymore. I wish you all the best!!
How is your vision now? What you have done after that. I am experiencing same vision issue after lasik. I had it twice to fix the issue but It didn’t. Can you please what you have done to fix it. Thank you.
What specific Lasik method did you undergo?
