Helldivers 2 | Malevelon Creek Run I No Commentary

A run of Malevelon Creek. Was a bit cheesy at some bits, but I hope this No Commentary Video gives others the motivation to purchase Helldivers 2 and do their part!
This is why I often prefer indie titles. There are so many passionate developers who respect their players and want to build a good and unique experience, and their monetization is fair, sometimes going out on their way to refuse any IAPs altogether or doing so only for cosmetic DLCs in a sea of existing cosmetic content. Triple A titles only have one thing going on their way: popularity. But I don't care how many people play a game so long as there's enough to play the game as intended, and it does not make sense to me to buy 70+€ of a game that I have to force myself to enjoy.
Cost of game development has skyrocketed. Higher ups are afraid to take risks and innovate, most studios when they innovate and release a decent game end up getting closed down by a parent company like the tango game works situation.
Companies are prioritising shareholders instead of customers and games these days are designed to take your money and keep you addicted to rack up engagement and increase chances of you using mtx regardless of whether you're having a good time or not. The brighter customers realise what is happening and quit, but unfortunately these games are targeted towards the bottom denominator who pays without thinking for their continued dopamine hits.
Its the CEO s not the devs themselves, stop blaming them for just doing their job. The directors and especially the Heads of these companies should take all off the blame and hate. They are the ones who make the decisions not the Developers themselves
There is a lot of influence from a lot of different sources from a Game Development StandPoint. Some Development Companies allow more contribution from their Devs than others. Like Activision, a publishing company, Makes their development companies put out shitty games. Other Companies will Develop a game and have developers collaborate on a title and still, the game will be shitty. Its all about what companies truly care about the games they make and sell.
I have bought 2 games in 2024 and both for the very same reason: YT spamming me gameplay videos of the game. And it's not a big surprise that the games are Helldivers 2 and Space Marine 2. I racked up nearly 200h on HD2, just started working my way in SM2 campaign.
Both are Great games. SM2 Especially!
While I respect different opinions, I'd highly disagree that the community says devs killed the game. Change it to "The louder part of community" or "isn't addressing community's feedback the best way" - both of the statements I'd say would be true, yeah. But if community as a whole said the game was killed by devs, we'd not have people like chaosdivers, who still play the game, but don't follow the major orders as a protest to Super Earth not doing enough to prevent deaths of fellow helldivers. The fact is, people who still enjoy it are most often quiet or even silent. That being said, I like how you address the issues in the video without spitting hatred like the mentioned louder part of community. The most important difference between plain hate and criticism is that criticism highlights both good and bad parts, ideally suggesting ways of improvement. Hate only highlights what's bad, doesn't suggest ways of improvement and at worst insults both people working on the game and people disagreeing with them. If I had any power in gamedev, I'd say that in general we absolutely (f-ing) need something like a Gamer Association that provides solid criticism, valuable feedback and keeps communicating with game developers. On devs part, the first and biggest step would be to treat their community like their spouse. Like, devs, we're pretty much in a relationship and it's up to both parties to make it a love-love relationship, not love-hate or hate-hate one. And I can't see how indie solo devs can communicate with the community much more frequently and with more quality than bigger studios that most often have a special person to manage the communication part(example: see Knights Within and compare them to pretty much any AA-AAA studio. The difference is stunning and to me doesn't make any sense). To finish this, I liked and subscribed, as I appreciate the overall positive tone of the video, despite the topic. Sorry for the long read lol. And remember, kids: A helldiver never turns his back on fellow mates. Vera Libertas!
Well said!
Sony trying to force using PlayStation network started the downfall. Then the "community managers" (commissars) made things way worse. The nerfs just finished it off
I bet all the people who left, think elden ring is really hard too 😅

HD2 *WAS* the most fun and enjoyable experience I had with a game in years. Keyword there is was. The devs destroyed the game more and more with each patch. I uninstalled about a month and a half ago. I've been keeping up to date with the game, which is definitely on life support right now. A big patch is coming next week that will either revive the game, or finish it off for good. On the endgame, the Galactic War should be the main endgame, with other stuff like armor customization and weapon upgrades being thrown in there. The Major Orders should lead to a point where you feel satisfied and like you accomplished something. That's the way it was going for a little while, and then the devs just ran out of ideas. Perfect example is how we completely wiped the bots from the map. There was a sense of accomplishment there. Then, a mere two days later, the bots are back, this time, even more powerful than before. The feeling of accomplishment was totally gone, and we didn't even get any new weapons or ship modules from destroying them. Hell, we didn't even get a cape, which is the literal least they could've done.
@@rodafowa1279 bro may be cookin
I think maybe when we wiped the bots, we could have taken a break from them and fought off the bugs. Push them back then as we’re about to wipe them, have the illuminate barge in out of no where with a front attack. Then later on down the line, the bots come back still weakened and control maybe two sectors
I still find the game pretty fun just needs to be fixed
the developers became the fun police very quickly, nerfing guns was a killer. but you can see that they released banners right after the nerf which were viable then nerfing that banner when a new one came out. it just wreacked of cash grab for you to keep buying the newer banner or grinding for it. very chore like and killed the spirit and the community.
Great game still, not a tripple A developer that even comes close. 40 euro for 350 hours of fun so far and still counting up. Meanwhile other games cost 70 bucks but get boring after 10 hours of gameplay.
yeah the devs killed it. and theres no coming back frankly. they lost the majority of players due to their own incompetence. and when they noticed the ship was sinking they said " na na gimme like 60 more days i can fix it" so pretty much what they have been doing the entire life cycle of the game. problems occur = ask for more time, more time you nerf and make the issue worse. realize that didnt go over well. ask for more time. fix something then within a day break it again. more time more time more time. time is more valuable than anything and they burned it all away. they also lied about exclusivity and fomo. they lied about the psn controversy they knew about it the entire time. they also were masked in a safe zone (because it was good) surrounding the games hated live service model and seasons along with drip feed content. the only reason the game got as popular as it was is because of a very good pr move to make the players think they are listening and that they were just like us. they werent. sprinkle in some devs saying some really stupid stuff they should be fired for and bamb. your game is now dead.
Aged like milk.
@@lukasfuhrmaneck9101 the damage has been done. They lost the majority of their player base. In the time this was posted they have released 2 new mediocre warbonds and once again promised good changes they still haven't delivered on. The main flaws are still in the game. A good example of the shadey stuff they do is Those warbonds that they reduced in size so they don't have to put in as much work. And sell it to people with the excuse of quality over quantity. they haven't climbed back. The player count is still very low from what it was. They just have a great pr team to string the less observant cattle along with. Don't look over here I know it's ugly, look over here. I have this medical pistol. And ohh look over here I have this tentacle monster. See what a great job we are doing. Just don't look back the other way iv got another war bond on the way with shiney toys.
They launched a unfinished game, it was a success. Then they tried to fix it "as intended" and it withered away
Playing since day 1. Still great. I'm worried Arrowhead is going to ruin it by lowering armor for enemies and buffing all weapons. Challenge is fun.
I think having a great balance is great for a PvE game. But nerfing everything and having slow introductions to armors we need to combat certain enemy types is definitely frustrating.
@@Northhammer I would say lets give it time. I will say that the bot front is still fun and the game is still fun overall. There are still other weapons thats effective like the autocannon has always been the best I just hope they change back the vfx for the flamethower. I personally dont care if it cant kill chargers or BT but the vfx alone was the reason why I loved using it. Now we can just wait and see. They did promise the 60 day plan and I do hope the game comes back. Still kicking but I do want to see more people say constructive criticism and "it's fun" rather than people saying "game ded lol". I paid money and i feel like i still want to get the worth as AAA games have been kicking our guts these past years, ESPECIALLY MW3 2023
@@khandykiller4054It will get better I believe. I think the devs just need time to assess the things they need to fix. And I don’t even know where to start on COD😂 I could probably have a 30 minute video just dogging on Activision if I really wanted to do that
You can pick any weapon against either enemy and complete missions on Super Helldive. Several UA-camrs have shown this. So, the idea of the game being "challenging" is a myth. Laborious, tedious, boring, etc. would all be better words to describe the game in it's current state. On Helldive and Super Helldive, the best strategy by far is to simply run away and take on engagements only when absolutely necessary. If that's your definition of fun, awesome. The vast majority of players disagree with you, though, and unfortunately, no players = no game. Look at what Sony just did to Concord. Despite what AH says, Sony are the bosses when it comes to this game. The PSN account linking debacle shows that full stop. If this upcoming huge update is a failure, and the player counts continue to dwindle, Sony will pull the plug sooner, rather than later.
It was a great game, but has no endgame and all the nerfs ruined the fun.
I know in PvE games there technically is no end to the game, but I mean Endgame as in Advancements in your character, ie Warbonds, Ship Modules, Etc etc
Players these days really can't have good fun without carrot dangling in front of their faces. Number no go up no neuron activation monke sad(
I stopped playing because of the weapon nerfs. The last straw was the Breaker incendiary nerf right before the fire warbond. Uninstalled! I've lost both faith and trust in the dev team.
All I hear is I’m a little bitch pissant can’t handle change shut ya mouth mate still a quality game fkn bitches galore
Vid could’ve used a few more days in the oven. You hit a few blanket community gripes but didn’t put any personal thoughts or specifics in your review, could’ve been a solid intro to one though! Was getting into it and had a little wtf moment when you said it was a deep dive at the end lol
I really appreciate the feedback and Ill definitely take it and run with it in the next video. I guess I really have just been playing it soft because really anything online can be taken and thrown all sorts of ways when it comes to personal beliefs on movies, games, etc. But I really do see what you mean. I encourage you to look for my Upload on Space Marine 2 this weekend as I will have more of my personal views since im a huge Warhammer 40k Fan. Thank you for your support man!
@@Northhammer thanks for getting back! Glad feedback went over ok, totally get where you’re coming from. I’ll keep an eye out for your vids in the future, Showed a lot of promise man!
@@beastmight1 Of course brother! I really do appreciate your support and I really hope you enjoy my upcoming content!
The fact that they mever fixed the glittch where the controller dosent respond to inputs in dire situations. They kinda deserve the fall off they created tbh
As much as I hate to say it, I agree.
Hell yeah dawg got the achievement and not die and still died I still haven’t gotten it yet
This review is great! It addresses all the pros and cons of the game in a really great way. And the way you addressed the balance issue was great too. Currently, the only large issue with the game is the humans being wayyy to powerful one comes to close encounters so them buffing the melee items for klowns would be the best
I really appreciate your support! I tried the best I could with the information I gathered from diving into Reddit pages and reviews online to best address the issues this game has. And yeah I completely agree with your statement. I have faith in this game and I really hope the devs take the feedback they’ve been getting lately about fixing the balancing issues. Thank you so much for your comment. Lots more content to come!
