I was young when Thief came out, and vividly remember seeing it and thinking how lucky I am, to be young enough to look forward to a lifetime of great Michael Mann movies. Because it was immediately clear Michael Mann was a great director. Sure enough now at 67 I've enjoyed a lifetime of movies, and happy to say my initial impression was dead on. This tribute lovingly captures so many great ones it's hard to express how much I enjoy watching it.

Hope is a word for me that will always live and grow in the light..

Haneke a slower more boring version of Kubrick

I was a teenager in the 80s when the show Miami Vice came out. The cinematography was like nothing I'd ever seen before. I was utterly enamoured with his artistic background scenery, the fluidity of his chase scenes, the low lit interior moods during critical dialogs, & of course the synergistic enegergies Jan Hammer brought to the sound of the show's brilliant atmosphere. Watchimg his movies throughout the years, I realized perfection had gotten even more perfecter, if there's even such a word that exists. Michael Mann has brought the ancient Japanese philosophy of "Kaizen," to American cinematography! Edit: Your editing of this tribute video is absolutely seemless!
