I lost my father two years ago this week. He was a WWII Pacific theater Navy veteran. Your tribute to these late, brave D-Day veterans brought back the tears of my own loss. God bless the families of these York Normandy Veterans.
We are sorry to hear of your loss, and at the same time very proud to hear your story and learn that we touched your heart. We are very firm friends with York’s last member of YNVs, and dearly miss our Grandad Sid.
Lest we Forget
Indeed, lest we forget 🙏
Visited it in 2023, lovely people and very helpful with wheelchair users. 😊
@@colinjames4545 that’s how we found them as Nick sums up at the end of the film. We were there filming for 3-days in total and enjoyed every minute of being there. We all met up again earlier this year when the film premiered in Tamworth. Great to hear from you, thank you.
Very moving...well done ...
@@AdeReeves thank you for watching, we appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Well done everyone, it all seems very familiar!
@@tsheritageengineering thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, we all appreciate it. Having made this and having got to know how many other heritage railways operate, we fully understand how many have followed similar stories. It would be nice to make more of these one day.
@@forgephotography832 Looking forward to the Drewry film!
@ we have it in the plan for 2025. Need to get our PC Robert Smith documentary finished next, then push on with the Drewery 👍🏻
Excellent documentary. Good luck to all those dedicated volunteers, they all have done a fine job. All the best for 2025 from a rather ancient railway enthusiast.
Thank you very much, wishing you a Happy New Year!
Good work guys 👍
@@AdeReeves thanks mate. Merry Christmas to you both!
Excellent ❤
@@wildcampingseamus thank you.
great vid but cant find the map.
@@zzzpip yeah sorry, we filmed this a long time ago and I had to let the site go that hosted the map when they started charging. Hope you enjoy your visit!
Thank you for sharing this video with us. Really interesting and beautifully shot. We have subscribed. Best wishes Dave and Dawn 👍
That’s very kind, thank you. It is a place I discovered with my parents as a child and it was a pleasure to give a little something back.
Good video and dramatic with the mist.
Many thanks!
@@forgephotography832 no worries. Praise where praise is due
Awesome work…Congrats to all involved 🤩
Lovely to hear all about your photography interest Anne, walking with you is always fun and interesting as your keen eye never misses a subject to photo and share with your walking companions.😊
Excellent documentary accompanied with some nice music. Kudos to all involved.
Many thanks for taking the time to comment @VKmusic604, it's a great team effort and the composer and his family are awesome!
Wow so emotional listening to this... I dedicated my Radio programme on Tuesday to D-Day and the Fallen, playing appropriate music - recited the Exhortation and played the Normandie Veterans March. [from a daughter of a POW Who was captured for 5 years. Lest We Forget
Hi Valery, It's really nice to hear from you and that's a great thing you did on your radio show. Are you still involved with the Bournemouth and Poole veterans? You might be interested to read about our short film documentary which is being screened on 24 June at Brighton Rocks International Film Festival. Nick (York Normandy Veterans organiser) and my son George are interviewed in their blog here; rocksblogs.com/2023/06/07/interview-with-george-child-nick-belby-of-never-too-young-never-too-old/ Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment on this particular film. @@forgephotography832 Yes still involved with Dunkirk Veterans lost our last actual Veteran December 2018 but we still meet in Memory of all our Veterans - next time we meet is 26th July as it is a job to keep tabs on them 2 of them are veterans themselves of Afganistan etc [they are sons of our Late President who was the last veteran of Dunkirk that we lost mentioned earlier]
Hi Valery, That's really wonderful that you're keeping their memory alive. We are an unpaid filmmaking team (I'm retired, George is at Uni and everyone else volunteers). One of our team is a Falklands veteran and he has been adopted by Cookey who has really help with his PTSD. They might be a generation apart, but their experiences are the same. Big love to you all.
Great stuff team...really enjoyed this... 👍
Thank you Ade, we all really appreciate your comments. As you know, the subject is very close to our hearts and it is a pleasure to meet Ken at every opportunity we can. mc
Very Nice Documentary and Excellent Background Music
Thank you. It is nice to share the walk with everyone, it is a very peaceful stroll. We cannot believe the talent of 13 year old Rohith with his composition, and he has pulled out all the stops with Episode 2 which will be released in July.
Awesome documentary. Excellent narration, great video and a soothing background music.
Thank you very much, Dave did a great job didn’t he and Rohith is a talented composer. I nice little project.
Looks good guys ...
Thank you Ade, let’s see where this takes us. Regardless of the destination, it is the journey there that is often the most rewarding.
In my opinion, we don’t need to be afraid of bees, they need to be afraid of us… after all the things we’re doing to the environment, pesticides, insecticides, deforestation, over building… we need them more than they need us and we are their number one enemy. All hives matter.
It was a chilly day for sure Ade. Always nice to be at a Blues game, especially a sell out crowd.
Looks cold..but fun 😃
The Clachtoll broch was the first broch that I ever saw. At the time (the mid 1970s) it was a huge pile of stones with wall facings and intra-mural chambers just visible. It's wonderful to see it now excavated, and particularly to see that the entrance was tall and wide, rather than the tiny defensive hole that has been portrayed as the norm.
Thank you for your comments. The community did an amazing job in pulling together to clear all the rubble. I’ve only seen pictures from before.
@@forgephotography832 Yes, an excellent piece of work that revealed so much
Honeybees (seen on the flowers) are not 'Wild Life' !! The solitary bees look like Colletes hederae. The cover picture bee probably Bombus vestalis, a Cuckoo bee.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mike, it is very much appreciated.
I guess livestock might have been more accurate than wildlife. Seems to be quite a debated subject.
All looks familiar 😃
We did spend a lot of time as teenagers cycling, mopedding and driving all of these roads didn’t we Ade.
@@forgephotography832 definatly familiar stomping (or scrumping) grounds

Thank you for your kind words Tony, appreciated.
Been there today, stunning countryside and history, geological and anthropological.
Hi Steve, Thank you for your comments. Some things have changed in the understanding of the building since we filmed there back in 2018, and there is an easy to read (for me) book out now too. Lots of information including details about the book can be found here www.clachtollbroch.com
Visiting and staying at XI beach next week . Thanks for a great walk .
Thank you, these kids are all grown up now. We had great fun making our Kefalonia films and try to return whenever we can. Xi beach is lovely, as I’m sure you know. Have fun!
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Great commentary, we are staying in Argostolli next week and will be sure to check out this walk. Many thanks for documenting 😊
Fabulous. We nearly got to Argostoli 3 weeks ago but our return flights were cancelled so we didn’t get there. The kids are all grown up now, and the narrator is 6’ 2” with a deep voice. Wishing you a fantastic trip and thank you for commenting.
Great work!
The best in the business, all involved!
Nice work...
Strangely feel like a whisky now :)
And why not Ade. George has got an Islay whiskey Ad on the boil atm.
Now living in Hungary and really miss this fantastic restaurant. When we visit UK this will be a place we will return to.
We have moved from Bedford also, but only as far as Peterborough, so luckily we can still visit our fantastic friends from time to time.
