Bloody legend! Thank you for taking the time to post this video - saved me heaps of time and a headache.
That video sucked
Drop some shr00mz before you start the day as well
It is indeed an eyesore that I have to look at everyday.
Since 1989 there are Indian casinos every 100 miles or less in my state and no more charter flights to Laughlin.
I love you thank you so much just had to do 5 of these and was suffering
I am sure a willing EOD Team could use the practice. 820th Red Horse at Nellis. Perfect for an Exercise.
Boomtown in Bullhead City, Arizona! Investment COMMERCIAL property in Old Bullhead, straight across the river from the Golden Nugget Casino and Harrahs Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, IS DIRT CHEAP. Jet ski businesses want to spread out. They need commercial property to store their jet skies. Better buy now before they grab everything up! The jet skies businesses are making BIG BUCKS and can afford to pay for more Commercial expansion in OLD BULLHEAD.
no help here
I was just up there
lol...stick to the backflows. Video is poo x 2
interesting how everything is so connected. In BC Canada when the credit crunch hit in 2007 all concrete high-rise stopped..........in five days. It took eight months to arrange alternate financing (thank you, New York, you assholes) from the outfits that CREATED the problem, to get the hotels and condos finished. We went from 115 employees to 15 in five months, never to return.
Your videosucks
Thank you.
Jesus loves you.
Thanks for your videos. I know I'm a little late to the party here but... 1) What was causing the water hammer in this particular case? 2) Why did the water hammer not simply cease after the BFP presumably relieved the system of the excess pressure (by dumping some water)? I ask because I have a similar problem. We flush just one flushometer toilet and and the BFP spits just like in your videos for about 30-45 seconds then finally quits. Thanks again for the videos!
I've been i. Here I live by it
Had the same issue today, same backflow preventer, a Wilkins 975XL, I tested it and turned out the #2 check valve seat was badly damaged. I replaced the check valve seat, problem was solved.
useless... horrible off-putting music made my headache worse. no information communicated.
Please do a better job with your videos.
I have one at work that says that it is an 825yd Type RP, but it doesn't have a relief valve.. it looks like the same otherwise.. What gives? Does it make a difference that it's on a fire line?
Do you need to test backflow after this repair? Or can you just do the repair without testing?
Did you ever figure out how to get it to stop pulsating?
dang, glad I was not my money waisted....
Didn't learn a thing from this video.
exelent
if memory serves, the contractor poured concrete before sign off on electrical. Too costly to tear out concrete at the time. Now the rebar and structural integrity of steel won't/can't pass any kind of inspection. Developer shut everything down.
interesting that in Laughlins' desert environment technically you'd have little problem with structural steel degrading, unlike where I am up the west, wet coast. Even then, no Engineer or Firm wants to sign off on a lifetime of liability, though you could do it. it wouldn't fail in it's expected lifetime, but you'd have to do something different with it, like when Long Beach back in the sixties had their hotels on the beach strip failing inspection, so they "condo'd" the buidlings to seniors as small rooms, and sold the buildings as private residences.
It's on the Laughlin side though
Hard to imagine they haven't try to use it for anything else it would be perfect for paint ball or an air soft arena.
Liability on this structure without any safety barriers would prevent any kind of commercial use.
Who knows the finger rock
me and my friends just went there and climbed it theres stairs it cool
good job man i like it looks real good keep it up
Almost got a seagull 27 sec. mark
Sam Degonia this is some old stuff. Check out AZ Aerial Drone for some new stuff.
Brad I like the use of the drone for the overhead shots , well done. Does this mean it's a buissness write off now? If so scatter some fishing poles around on your next video so you can claim them as expenses as well ! All I can say is your a talented guy who knows his stuff.
nice work man i liked how you add the videos together cant wait to see more like this
Is this the one that is known as the electrical facility? It's hard to tell from the video if it's something I haven't seen....thank you :-)
It was going to be the Emerald Hotel and Casino.
Ahhhh. Thank you. My geography is a little off because I haven't been down there in a while. Beautiful video though!
Nice work Brad. Camera action and shots are very nice, like the music too.
They should finish it, or tear it down!
I believe it has been exposed to the elements to long. I do wouldn't think it could be salvaged.
Nice.
Nice.
Nice.
Nice.
Emerald River, a 6,000-room resort complex, was planned by Las Vegas-based John H. Midby & Associates, one of Laughlin's early developers and a major player in the area. Today the first-phase tower of Emerald River is a concrete skeleton on the banks of the Colorado, around the bend from the main cluster of casinos. The demise of the junk bond market and a shaky financial market have left Midby and other developers with few financing options and no money to complete ambitious projects.
We still can. Someone here also has a DJI in this area. They were flying as well.
YOU COULD OF CALLED ME WE COULD OF DONE IT TOGETHER MAN GOOD JOB
A casino. I believe it was going to called the Emerald River Casino, I could be wrong though.
And golf course I worked on the golf course 1989 and the course closed December 1990
what was it supposed to be
Awsome video
Moved the water hammer arrester from the down stream side of the backflow prevention assembly to the up stream side of assembly. This totally eliminated the water hammer problem. You can hardly tell in the video but I deliberately slammed the down stream water valve closed just as I did in previous videos, and there was NO HAMMERING.
Another failed attempt to eliminate a water hammer issue. In this attempt I installed a water hammer arrester on the down stream side of backflow prevention assembly, reason being is the water hammer condition is created by a fast closing sprinkler valve down stream of the backflow assembly. The water hammer condition is initiated by the fast closing sprinkler valve, but then instantly the relief valve on the assembly react as it was designed to and with the right conditions the backflow assembly allows the water service to act like a water (hydraulic) pendulum. Something will give, and 99% of the time it will blow the rubber out of the relief valve check. This will stop the water hammer, but there will a constant discharge from the assembly.
An attempt to eliminate a water hammer condition. Per a couple pipe and plumbing supply outfits, installing this check valve up stream of the backflow prevention assembly would eliminate this from occurring. You can see here that it did not stop the the water hammer from occurring. It calmed the condition, but did not stop it. Lesson learned.
This is what a water hammer condition looks like at a RPPA type backflow prevention assembly. With a stock 975XL the rubber in the relief will blow out stopping the water hammer but causing a constant discharge from the relief valve. At this point the rubber will need to be replace, and you should get the water hammer condition under control or you will be back making repairs.
