    There's some weird coating on the Fluke lead tips that gives higher resistance. I sanded mine gently with 3000 grit and then they did almost as well as my Probe Masters.

    What about the resistance test between the two?

    • @_Broomstick
      @_Broomstick 5 місяців тому

      ProbeMasters have less resistance. No contest there. Not super important for most industrial settings, but certainly something to keep in mind if testing circuit boards.

    I’m a retired electrician and sold off my fluke’s when I retired. I bought the CL390 after I realized my two other budget meters were unreliable and one of them died. Oops! Bad decision on my part. What I despise about the 390 is the beeping when changing modes, it drives me nuts.

    I bought this as a DIYer, seems to be the cheapest name brand one you can get for DC Amps (Car work). Hopefully it lasts me a very long time if not lifetime for the price, as a bonus it will be a good tool when I become a homeowner.

      I'd say yes if you get into 1-1/2" - 2-1/2" pipe a bit. They're handy for general industrial maintenance and repair as well. I use the 16" version of these much more often. I'd get that one first. If you like it, think about rounding out your toolbox with the bigger set.
