I've actually been getting burned out on the game because of the black cards. I started as a black player and have switched around to other colors. Now it feels like anytime I go against a black deck, the game is so boring. Just sit there and watch all my characters die. So fun. At this point I'd rather play against nami than any black deck.

I think Cabaji, RP Law, Enie's Lobby, and Moby Dick can stay banned. But Reject could be reworked so its leader locked to Kalgara or something. *However* I think RP Law should be errata'd so that he has the original two effects, just change bottom decking to KO, and make him choose one, he either KO's a card or cheats something out. Now i think hes balanced. Sakazuki should just be unbanned. I don't think he is turbo busted like Law was, and Lucci still exists. Lucci essentially does the same thing. He doesn't cycle your hand but he fills trash super fast and removes cost by attacking. So, i think Saka should just be unbanned. He does *not* need to be banned right now given the average power level of all the top leaders right now.

(Beginner take) I think cost reduction is ok because if you don't have a follow-up removal then it does nothing. So you have to burn 2 or 3 cards or have something already on the field for it to be useful. Something that reduces power is instantly useful for attacking. I can see how stages may be overpowered as they are practically permanent as a leader. Perhaps can balance stages by only one being able to be in play at a time. So if i play a stage my opponent loses their stage. (Noob take over)

So I’m still running strawhats for sanji. I run 3 pell and 3 shuriya and 2 wapole. I think that’s all the non strawhats I run. I have radbeam, bad manners and 2 diable jambe but I combo my rushers like 5c luffy, zoro and kid/killer especially with the Brooke that -2k to 2 characters. I thought about karasu for mid game. Giving him rush and 2 don to minus 1k can be nasty I just don’t think I have deck space. Combos like Brooke and pell really mess peoples board up already.

Black needs to be checked.

I am really on par with the cost reduction. I think it should be either cut completely from the game or much more difficult to access. The clearest example is that bandai can't pair well blue and black colors due to this

Ive said it to my friends how I feel about the banlist and I'll say it here. 1.the Cabaij can stay banned imo, theres no real way to fix it. 2. Just put Moby dick at 1 and that fixes most of the problems, like yeah Newgate would be more playable but it wouldn't be meta breaking they would have to actively search for it with Izo. 3. Make Reject only for Shandian Warriors only. Or as one of my friends said keep the ability to KO a 5 cost for any leader and only a Shandian Warrior leader can use the ability to deal 1 damage, boom fixed. 5. Great Eruption is hard since its a very good card, maybe up the cost of the event or get rid of the card draw. Or make it so Navy leaders can use it. 6. Sakazuki can stay banned lol. Thats all i have to say. 7. Lobby is a hard one, but I can't see it getting unbanned. 8. Law unfortunately will never see the light of day, i dont even need to say anything lol. Also how long has it been since VV played magic, him saying he used to use "Unmake" made me cringe with how old that card is lmao. Also to answer your question, there's alot of new cards that have cost reduction. The one thats on the top of my head is *Excalibur, The Sword of Eden* from the Assassins Creed set. Its a 12 cost Artifact Equipment card that cos 12 but costs X less to cast where X is the total Mana valve of every Historic permanents you have.

I know this might be an unpopular opinion but I think there may be an arguement to ban blue Pudding. It single handedly can win games in a lot of cases. I think the consistency of Dolfy right now is enough for it to still do well without it, especially with gravity blade and red roc still available.

Sakazuki needs to cost a Don. Just that one attachment definitely goofs up ST14 Luffy's curve enough to make it fair.

Love the videos man. I’m still fairly new to one piece but have a big background in magic. Theres just so many things to complain about in magic but one piece seems to have a more balanced gameplay. Even in favored matchups you can still win if they don’t see what they need to. Since unlike magic there’s no really good tutors. Makes matchups more of a toss up.

ice age is crazy, maybe it should have costed 3-4 energy to do that. Imagine if round table costed 2 or if red had something for 1 that minuses 5k

On the topic of stages, I think the major issue surrounding stages is that there is no form of removal for them. They are practically guaranteed to stick once they are put down. I wish they were more relevant since I feel that it is underutilized design space. Also, I wasn't playing when Moby dick was legal but I feel as if the stage could have been fair if it only increased power by 1k instead of 2k. I think all stages that manipulate power or cost and are static or repeatable should only make a change by a single unit, whether that be 1k power or 1 cost.

There are a lot of pieces for black decks that make black very strong. Which lynch pin donwe pull out? Type locking rebecca maybe? Ban lucci? Ban ice age? Ice age hurts a lot of other decks that don't play as well as lucci. Rebecca may be the answer, not Ban. Restrict to rebecca.

Have you heard of One Piece Alliance? It's a commander format that i saw someone else release a few weeks back. It sounds like a lot of fun but definitely isn't perfect

Interesting topic! I do enjoy the block rotations. There are block rotations in Pokemon, it actually happens annually. Pokemon cards are printed with a letter at the bottom to designate the block they are in, with three letters legal in standard right now, F, G, and H. Around April I believe, we will have F cards rotate and cards with the G, H, and I markings will be legal. So far no I cards have been released, but they should start soon. This means cards have roughly three years of being legal for play in standard. I do enjoy the system, and I think many fans will agree. It's interesting to look at One Piece and the discussion topic surrounding it, and for the long run I hope we see some block rotation to make the game the best it can be!

Rotation is a clumbsy solution for bad card design. One Piece has been poorly handled throughout.

would be odd if bandai did rotations for one piece when it never did that for dbs,digi,and battle spirits.

Now my $120 playset is worth nothing the only thing I don’t like about block rotation. I also believe that the sales of mtg is so high because of commander which is eternal and modern which is not eternal but non-rotating. Having a eternal format is cool because your cards from 10 years ago become good because of new support good example would be yugioh recently had a regional top playing mermails having cards release from 2012. suddenly my R card that was worth 1.50 because it was never reprinted because it was “bad” is now $18.

I feel a lot of the comments talk about how an archetype gets destroyed by rotation, but what it really allows is an archetype to grow and evolve past certain staples sometimes. Bonney right now is very top end and control focused, but when a staple crutch card (say 8c Kid) is gone, the deck has to find new ways to play, which for deck builders would mean you can now start to build maybe a more mid-range Bonney deck, and although you can do that without rotation you would just be playing a sub-optimal build, at which point you are play casually anyway, and don't have to necessarily follow Bandai enforced rule sets. We are also still very early in One Piece TCG's life, we may not have to actually do a rotation until block 4 comes out. I would say it would actually be a miracle for OPTCG to eventually have to have multiple formats (e.g; All blocks, blocks 4+, blocks 9+, and last 3 blocks released) I for one would be ok with a rotation based system as long as Bandai addresses that an eternal format still exists in some capacity, you can go to locals and play "standard" or you can find the ones that play "modern/legacy" so you can continue to use your old decks.

I came to op from Yu-Gi-Oh so I haven't ever played with block rotations but I'd be open to it. The only concern I have is when you have unique leaders with fun play styles that leave the format it might cause players to leave the game like when they banned rp law and released the promo several people from my locals stopped showing up because they loved the play style of law and there was nothing else like it, several of them even acknowledged that law was overturned but the new one that was released was just so awful they didn't want to play anymore and I wouldn't want to see that with other leaders
