This is such an incredible view of one of the best surfers in world, the way he controls speed in waves like this and controls some of those throw tails and recovers then with no loss of momentum is totally nuts.

I don't think you can do a staggered hand pop up if you're going to the back side surfing and not front side.

Superb surfers.
Only Tyler Write is using the backfoot-first method at 8:00. All others do the jump popup from the knees and thighs. Pretty interesting, because as a beginner you don't learn this method which is strange because we all will progress to short board. I wonder why we are not learning the jump popup from the beginning even on a big foamy.
