Maf 71cc (63cc) engine coil upgrade
Переглядів 9 тис.3 роки тому
How to to fit a derestricted coil to the Maf 71cc (63cc) engine. The original coil is limited to 9.5k rpm. It involves having to advance the timing of the flywheel
Is there a link for this coil upgrade I can't seem to find it anywhere
Thank you so much. I was trawling forums as to fit an unlimited coil and came across your video. I have this engine fitted into a X2 pocket bike with a CVT transmission. The bike is extensively ported with big carb and race pipe but wouldn't rev past 6k . Now it screams and goes like the clappers. Top man.
Hey Frank, I have one of these engines with a big exhaust on. It runs quite nice and I’ve just bought a reed valve kit, do you have any suggestions on how to port it or do these engines not preform well with a reed conversion??
What kind of go-kart is it??
Homebuilt
How many rpm does it reach with new coil?
If I bought the unrestricted coil and do I still have to adjust the flywheel ? I have so many questions. I wish I could actually talk to someone on the phone .
I've got a 63cc as well , looks exactly the same.I tried this and I am having trouble with it slipping, also the fly wheel to get the position would be moving it like 3or 4 over compared to your 2 fin adjustment? Any help or advice ? Could really use it right about now...
Hi could you tell me where you got that engine stand for the 63cc thank you.
I made it…
@@frankg3278 can you make me one. Ive been looking for something like this so I can run the motor in a frame of a bicycle and use a transmission for it.
Did this to my 1e53f engine and it works on that aswell.
is this applicable for installing no limit coils?
Yes
@@frankg3278 sorry but i'm new at this even for 1E48F engine?.

Here in the USA state of Rhode Island mate. Can you please give us a name of this little fellow. I’d love to pick one up here if able. ⚙️🚲⚙️💥
I do actually travel to Boston from time to time
Hi frank. Could you please tell us how high do you raise the exhaust port? Thanks
Love the angle finder as a degree wheel!
Ah yes that is a sick exhaust
Wish we could see the whole cart and especially the completed engine dude

Do you have a link for the coil you used and the flywheel! thanks
Standard flywheel and watch until the end
@@frankg3278 my engine is a 1E48F will this work for mine I've bought the coil?
@@frankg3278 What is the actual part number? There is no part number at the end of the video.
@@fishnfreak18 there isn’t really one. If you search for that description, you’ll usually find it. Sometimes it’s a 1e40f coil
@@frankg3278 OK thank you I will look around then. I just didn’t want to get a stock one mixed up with a high revolution one.
Im curious about if you time the motor wrong what it would sound like. Im not sure if i got it correct
How will you know if you’ve timed it incorrectly?
Too advanced and it’ll overheat, start pinging and loose bottom end. Too retarded and it’ll be sluggish
Top speed??
Type of engine?
Kasei 63
That cylinder looks like a yd100 bicycle engine cylinder. 48mm bore?
Yes it is 1e48f
is this a 44mm bore or 50

Hello Sir, Got a similar 63cc Kasei 2 stroke but it is hard to turn and thinking its the compression release problem, where on the engine would I find it to fix it, close to the pull string or close to the exhaust on this 63cc, Thank you in advance
Never had that problem before. Is it new?
I'm thinking of importing ten 1E53F (79cc) engines! I would offer to sell one on to you for the wholesale price. (around $55 USD) Would you be available to give me advice such as Carb setup, porting and coil upgrades?
I’m in the UK. I don’t know much about the 1e53f
What’s the electronic device on the fly wheel mate. Ta
Digital protractor for measuring port timing
I like your Kart. Whats the model? Is it a diy? Are there any plans?
Thanks. Yes, it’s a custom build. The plan was to make a more robust version of the Go Quad. No plans, it’s just how I developed it over time. It’s twice as fast now!
@@frankg3278 Its totally awesome this little ripper.. please keep videos and updates of the 63cc engine mod possibility coming. Thank you mate.
thanks idol for your tutorial video,
How big power engine after full modif racing
What coil u changed bro?
Watch until the end
fantastic
I used to tune and modify racing 2 strokes and port matching does make a difference, not very much at maximum power when the engine is devouring air, for example at 9000 rpm the air goes through the ENTIRE ENGINE in 0.0066 of a second, ( 60 seconds divided by 9000 rpm) the port matching helps just before the powerband and with the throttle pickup, when the airflow is less. My engines would go 12000, in this case the air goes through the entire engine in 0.005 of a second. (60 seconds divided by 12000)
how did you learn?
How did you learn?
i like your tutorials alot because you cover everything. can you please do a porting tutorial on a 49cc 2 stroke pocket bike engine please, thx!!!
Hey Frank I just bought a copy cat 63cc of the kasei could you tell me if it's about the same thing?
I couldn't get a real kasei.
Has it got 1e48f stamped on it?
@@frankg3278 haven't got it yet but it says in the description that I'm getting one 1f48f engine. Looks identical. It conning from aliexpress.
@@57xcustoms44 The 1e48f are the same engines.
Thanks I appreciate it. I'll let you know how it works out.
This is much better than the factory ignition setup, but the 460 coil and flywheel does perform better. The flywheel is lighter and the timing curve in the coil is different and more favorable for high rpm performance.
Depends on how much you want to polish a turd. How much does that additional hardware cost? It's £7 for this coil. These engines cost £100
@@frankg3278 hey man I don't disagree with that at all. I do have to lend these engines some credit though, they can be dead reliable when set up right and they make great power. My current reeded 63 setup pulls 14,210 loaded rpm on flat ground. Some 460/ 470 setups may rev a little higher but they will never be as powerful or as satisfying. I will still recommend a 460 to a beginner though, a good 63 setup is more of an advanced level builders engine
@@montehuseby1640 flywheel ms460 can use for 63cc engine?
i hope you have a full tutoriasl on porting bro
Every 2 stroke engine is different and needs to be ported differently so it's difficult to do. It also depends on what you are aiming for when you port. Generally, when you port, you shift the power into the upper rpm range.
Did you remove the rocket key? Why?
Yes, because the derestricted coil requires the timing to be advanced
What Rpm??
12,900rpm maximum

Huasheng/Kasei 1e48f 63cc. Same engine used on the Maf/Evo/Uberscoot
Do you guys recommend this 63cc over a cy460? I want a user friendly plug n play engine for my uberscoot, thanks lads
@@axiomloves21 I'd go with the 460 for simplicity. The 63 is great but it takes some work.
