End of Cowan train station to Hawkesbury River train station via part of Great North Walk Track I think it was.

An odd sight, I guess cockatoo got annoyed after being startled by raven. A pair of cockatoos were eating when another bird made an alarm call causing all birds to flee suddenly. Cockatoo chasing around a raven then followed, its partner can be heard making alarm calls in the distance.

Bit of a chaotic video as cockatoos were flying on to shoulders, arms and even on top of my head. One was checking out the phone screen as I was recording. A large flock of cockatoos came this morning including a baby which doesn't have a crest yet. Along with little corellas, long billed corellas, lorikeets and 013 Travis. Travis must have spread word to her flock.

3:42pm Family of five long billed corellas, juveniles are big enough to eat on their own but the parents hog the food only to feed them one by one later. Meanwhile, a family of five little corellas, photos taken at 8:42am, two were napping while one was beside parents wanting to eat for itself too. Very well behaved compared to the long bills.

Sydney is being drenched by heavy rain, lightened up a bit and birds had shown up. Baby little corellas are shivering cold and wet, another family of little corellas showed up soon after followed by long billed corellas. Rainbow lorikeets being the noisiest of the bunch. Nobody wants to share today. Another hour or so and sulfur crested cockatoos will show up too.

Normally the nocturnal birds notice me and fly off well before I have time to get phone out of pocket but this night I managed to get within touching distance of three Frogmouths. There was also a ringtail possum on the ground. Manly North Head Walk track.

Don't ever try and grab a wild cockatoo if one of them latches onto your finger you will be in some serious pain. I've seen them brake pencils in half like there butter so there not even trying, have some respect and you will keep all your fingers lol!

Because they've never felt the power of their beaks, otherwise, they wouldn't be putting anything fleshy near them. I rescued an umbrella cockatoo 15 yrs ago and can tell you the body language is saying 'leave me alone, look but don't touch'

I don't think so, it's the ravens which have a nest in a nearby gumtree, maybe the raven instigated it and cockatoo is reacting

The apple is nice for them but not one apple a piece only
I normally hang it up but wanted to film them eating it, other birds will come along later too, including currawongs who take the whole thing. Waiting for Spring to come around and nearby trees to start blossoming again, they love Red Bottlebrush especially, there will be a lot more lorikeets around plus new babies
You can put as much to eat you want. they always search for the golden corn and put all out, until they find it.

Lorikeet heaven. You could teach them to eat lettuce leaves too along with mango. It is nice to live near nature. You captured great Lorikeet behaviour. You live in an interesting community.
They have nests in the trees of the playground and are usually hanging around on nearby red bottlebrush trees. Initially they were afraid of apples and pears until they tasted it but I guess that's why the word teach was used when mentioning lettuce and mango. I'm presuming anything sweet and juicy will do. They absolutely love nectar mix, bought for the babies, devoured by the adults. I should upload a clip of that
