You're not missing anything. I'm dying for a zoom motor too. I dunno why focus gets so much priority.

@@noahfletcher3019 My guess is the desire to focus switch on actors/subjects in a scene, but these days that can be handled all in camera ... no need to do it via focus motor and getting the exact setting and having the camera do the work means your actors/subjects can operate under some positional variance (no need to tape up marks on the ground). Current zoom controls are not fluid at all unless moving to a $30,000 system and the Tilta options just don't hack it.

I leave that to someone els to answer, all I know is that the ronin SC focus motor works whit the RS2 gimbal, the ronin SC focus motor are identical whit the RS2 focus motor and the focus wheel that came with the SC gimbal works with RS2 gimbal. I can't tell but I suppose it would work.

In dial functions on the gimbal you have to make sure the “Focus Motor” is checked, otherwise it won’t work.

Haven’t seen any updates from DJI regarding this 😏

I used the Trigger 5 Pro for about a year until it broke and wasn't really a huge fan. Really like the hyperlite, ended up buying two more recently

@@McLeaner99 The T5P was terrible, all the other triggers are way better. The Hyperlite is better than the T5P but still terrible.

Hi Geasle! Yes whit the RS2 you can control aperture and focus if you use an extra focus wheel and one more focus motor on the RS2, I also own a Ronin-SC so I'm using the focus motor and the focus wheel from that unit on my RS2. (DJI-Ronin Part 3 Focus Wheel) (DJI Ronin RS2 or SC Focus Motor)

and you don't need the 3D focus system :)

to say this - is silly, it all depends on the story and director's vision; there are plenty iconic frames from the greatest films of all times where subject is in the dead center of the frame, probably as silly as saying that DJI focus is a 'cinematic' tool :)

No it shouldn’t. Five sided construction is for mid to high kick point sticks.

your comment is helpful too.Thinking about doing the same but it is hard to know if it will works and how. Are you already able to use both motors + raveneye tracking please ? All i need for my case is to get focus+zoom and the tracking motion.

@@steadifab1614 I do not want to steer you wrong, it's been a while since I have messed with it. I'm having issed with the RS2, sent to DJI for repair, so I'm not able to test things out, sorry.

🙌🏼 haven’t testing any solution how to operate it on distance, neither have I tested it whit the Raven Eye.

@@marcusryderborn Thanks, i finally found out how... You have to select the one you want to calibrate again, it will asks for an auto calibrate the motor focus, then you have to go to the general 3D focus, and do the motor focus calibrating again, and then it allows you to make the 3d focus calibrating on the previous selected template. Yeah...not intuitive at all. Thanks for the quick reply though :)
